“Mom, I recall telling you that you need to stay away from Ariana,” Noah said to the woman who had turned up at the hospital for no particular reason.

Mrs Nelson turned to look at Noah upon hearing the blame in his voice. She said to him, “Did I do it for myself, Noah?” Her tone was questioning and accusatory. “I did it for you! Do you have any idea what others are talking about you and our family? Just this morning Lexie came to our house, and she questioned why a woman from the Nelson family was working in the hospital. Do you even know how humiliating that is?”

She paused and added in a griping manner, “And not to mention your grandfather is returning home tomorrow. Do you understand what this means? The opportunity to get your hands on the sixty per cent shares is about to fly away from your hands.”

Noah rubbed his forehead with his forefinger and said to Mrs Nelson, “You don’t need to worry about that, Mom. I will handle these matters myself.”

“How? How are you going to deal with these matters and when Noah?” Having reached the limit of her patience, Mrs Nelson could not help but question. “You said that Ariana would return in a few days, that you would bring her back. From what I can see, that woman is about an inch away from jumping in the bed of another man.”

She scoffed and fanned the flames from the side, “Noah, take it as I am speaking too much, but women like Ariana … they are not one to rest. Three years ago, she married you out of greed, and now she is with another man. Do you think that she will return if you don’t corner her?”

“Mom!”

“I am just looking out for you, Noah,” Mrs Nelson stated as she twisted on her feet and turned to look at Noah. “You know the temper of your grandfather. He was the one who brought Ariana home. If he doesn’t see her tomorrow, then you can forget about taking control of the Nelson family.”

She reached out and placed her hand on Noah’s arm before saying, “Noah just use any means to get that woman to return. This is not the time to act like a gentleman.”

Noah closed his eyes and opened them. He said to his mother, “I will think of a way, please go back home.” He just met with an accident and his head was throbbing. Noah was not in any condition to discuss such matters. However, it seemed like his mother was blind to his pain.

“Noah——”

“My head is hurting, Mom,” Noah said with some annoyance slithering in his voice. “I need a day’s rest, can I take it please?”

Only then did Mrs Nelson remember that Noah had met with an accident. Her expression morphed into one filled with guilt before she said to him, “Of course, do you want to return home with me?”

“No, I will be returning to the apartment.” Noah didn’t want to listen to his mother’s complaints. Not when his head seemed to be spinning around.

“Oh, alright,” Mrs Nelson for once did not pester Noah to come back home with her and let him return to the apartment which he purchased a few years back.

Noah watched his mother slide inside the car before the driver closed the door of the car behind his mother. He then bowed to Noah before driving away the car.

With his feet stuck to the pavement, Noah crossed his hands behind his back. From the start until the end, his mother not once asked if he was alright.

“Mister De Luca, how long are you going to follow me?” Ariana asked as she turned to look at Nicolai with a sigh.

Nicolai looked at the calm yet annoyed expression on her face. One that reeked of extreme control.

‘At least she is not staring at me like I am a stinky bug under her feet,’ Nicolai thought while smiling at the woman in front of him.

“I am not following you, Pallas,” refused Nicolai at once. “I am trying my hardest to walk right beside you, but you are a bit too fast for me to catch.”

“Why?” Ari asked.

“I mean, you are walking a bit too fast and——” Nicolai began but was interrupted by Ariana who shook her head and deadpanned,

“Why are you following me, Mister De Luca?”

“Damn, you are freezing sometimes Pallas,” Nicolai placed his hand on the spot where his heart lay and pouted, “Your words sometimes wound me, Pallas. Are you going to kiss my boo-boo now?”

“Mister De Luca, I need to go on a round. If this is your form of entertainment, then can you wait until the evening?” Ariana offered a small yet polite smile to Nicolai who rolled his eyes.

Seeing her cold attitude, Nicolai could not help but roll his eyes. Why did he even like this woman?

She was so not his cup of tea.

The stiff way of talking and the elegant style of saying fuck you in a roundabout manner, he did not like his women like this.

Even in that black dress which resembled a gothic funeral outfit, Ariana looked gorgeous. Not to forget the mature curves of hers that looked snug even in that loose dress.

‘It will really be quite a joy to have this woman in my bed,’ thought Nicolai.

‘Looks like he is once again having lewd thoughts while eyeing my body,’ Ariana felt her brow twitch as she said to the man, “My eyes are a bit higher, Mister De Luca. If you don’t mind, can you raise your head a bit?”

The train of thoughts inside Nicolai’s head broke, and he raised his gaze to meet with the exasperated look on Ariana’s face.

Surprised motherfuckers. He seemed to have been promoted.

In the past, Ariana would look at him like he was a disgusting piece of trash that should have been exterminated at all costs. But now her gaze was similar to looking at recyclable trash.

What? It meant that there was hope for him, alright? Recyclable trash could be used after it was recycled.
