Chapter 202: Aunt?
While the two men were busy quibbling with one another, Millie reached out and started pulling Daphne’s long hair, “Bad woman! Bad woman!” As she pulled Daphne’s hair, Millie shouted.

“Someone help me!” Daphne screamed in pain. She was clutching her hair as she tried to pull her hair out of Millie’s grasp.

“What are you looking at me for? Grab her and take her to the ward,” Cole snapped at the nurses who were staring at him. He wasn’t worried about Daphne, but he was worried about Millie.

She hailed from the Ashford family and was Keon’s cousin. If something happened to her then the consequences would be dire.

The nurses were startled by the sudden order.

They looked at one another, hesitation and reluctance in their eyes. Millie had been provoked by Daphne, why was Doctor Cole asking them to join in the fun?

However, they had no choice. Doctor Cole had asked them to bring Millie back to the ward, they could only grit their teeth and move forward to drag Millie to the ward where she should be.

The woman, who was pulling and tugging Daphne’s hair while scratching and biting her, sensed someone walk over to where she stood.

Her actions halted as she warily eyed the two nurses who were moving close to her.

“Miss Millie, let’s go back to your ward, alright?” One of the nurses tried to cajole the woman with a sweet voice.

Millie, however, did not respond to the nurse. Instead, she took several steps back as she eyed the crowd that was looking at her.

They all looked scary. Terrifying. Like that man who took her away from her family and tormented her.

They were all going to harm her.

“No,” Millie shook her head as she took a step away from the nurse, her eyes flickered left and right before her gaze fell on familiar rosy pink locks that fluttered under the air of the air conditioner.

Her gaze met with the sympathetic and concerned gaze which was similar to the only woman who cared for her.

“Aunt!” Millie screamed as she rushed to Ariana and hugged her tightly.

“What did she call her?” One of the nurses couldn’t help but remark as they looked at Ariana.

Was this young woman related to Miss Ashford in some way?

Ariana too was wondering the same thing. Why did this woman suddenly hug her and call her ‘Aunt’ out of nowhere?

Subconsciously, she wanted to refuse but stopped when she noticed how pitiful Millie looked while hugging her. The poor woman was trembling from head to toe while holding her as if Ariana were the last life-saving straw that she was clutching.

Even though she had only visited Millie once when the latter was heavily dosed, to do some physical tests, Ariana knew that what happened to this woman was really lamentable.

“It’s alright, no one is going to hurt you,” Ariana said to the woman in a comforting voice. She neither raised her voice nor did she push the woman away while worrying about her safety.

Millie, who had been treated as if she was completely crazy by everyone in the hospital who was supposed to take care of her, slowly calmed down under the soft coaxing of the woman who was holding her.

Once Millie calmed down, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. This woman was their hospital’s VIP patient and a ward was specially arranged for her in the psychiatric ward because the Ashford family trusted Doctor Aiden and Doctor Cole.

If something happened to Millie ——

A shiver ran up the spine of many people.

However, among these people, there was someone who felt humiliated and annoyed by the sight in front of her.

“Doctor Harlow!” Daphne, who got up from the floor after getting embarrassed by the crazy freak, marched over to where Ariana was. “Did you deliberately hide something from the nurses regarding the patient?”

Ariana felt a twitch in her forehead as she looked at the woman who despite being the thief was blaming her.

“I did not hide anything. I reported everything as per the condition of the patient to the nurse station,” answered Ariana with a calm voice just as Millie hid behind her.

“Then why did she attack me, I followed everything——”

“Did you?” Ariana questioned. She felt apologetic to Millie, if she had known that Daphne would be so unprofessional, then Ariana would have fought to take charge of Millie.

Even though she couldn’t treat her, she could at least visit Millie every day on the pretext of doing physical tests.

“Of course I——”

“Doctor Hudson, Miss Millie doesn’t like darkness, and she likes to open every single light in her room. She doesn’t like being disturbed when she is in a troubled mood, and I am sure that she would have shown you her reluctance by saying no. Was it so difficult to decipher her no? Just because she is different from the rest doesn’t mean that she cannot give her consent,” Ariana spoke in one breath while hiding Millie behind her. She then narrowed her eyes and added, “And she also dislikes loud voices because of her traumatic experience, this was written and noted by the previous intern who took care of her.”

“Given that you are raising your voice in front of Miss Millie, I wonder how much information you read from the medical notes and charts that were handed to you,” she paused and questioned, “Or did you not even bother to read it?”

Ariana did not raise her voice unlike Daphne, she was calm from the beginning until the end even though she disliked the way Daphne accused her of overlooking the patients’ condition for her own beneficial gains.

Daphne’s face stiffened under Ariana’s questioning, indeed she did not read the information that was handed to her by the nurse station.

“Miss Millie, did you say no to her?” Instead of wasting her time, Ariana turned to look at Millie and questioned her.
