Chapter 222: The song of AhhHHh
“Back then it was you who acted on her own accord, if you hadn’t, if only you had listened to me and discussed first then——-”
Ariana ended the call, her mother had no intention to listen to her even in the slightest. So what was the point of even considering continuing this conversation?
“Ariana Harlow,” a low voice with rich timbre echoed in Ariana’s ears who had her head lowered. Surprised, Ariana raised her head and looked at Noah who stood in front of her.
“What are you doing here?” She squeaked out in surprise. Ariana did not expect Noah to turn up in the hospital out of nowhere. She did not even ask anyone to call him yet.
Noah arched his brow. He was dressed in a fitting chequered grey suit along with a red tie that suited him just right.
However, as he marched down the corridor towards her, Noah seemingly looked out of place.
“What do you mean by that? Didn’t we have an appointment today? You are supposed to deal with the stitches,” he pointed to the thin thread on his forehead that had worn a lot in the past three weeks.
Only then did Ariana remember that she had indeed asked Noah to come today?
“I… I am sorry, I have been busy these days, and it completely slipped my mind,” Ariana rubbed her forehead. These past few days she was so engrossed over the fact that she had offended Nicolai somehow that she did not have the opportunity to think about Noah.
She placed her phone in the pocket of her white coat before saying, “Please follow me.” However as she took a step forward, she turned to look at Noah and asked, “Who told you that I was here?”
“No one did,” Noah raised his phone in his hand and waved it in front of Ariana. “After your little stunt where you ran away without telling anyone, I put a GPS tracker in your phone.”
“What!” Ariana whipped her head around to look at the man behind her. “You have to be joking with me.”
She turned on her feet and stretched her hand in front, “Hand your phone here.”
When did this man even place a GPS tracker on her phone? Why did she not know of this?
“No,” Noah calmly replied as he placed his phone inside the pocket of his suit.
“What do you mean by no?” Ariana questioned as she looked at the man with a nerve throbbing in her forehead. “This is an invasion of privacy!”
“Is it? Given the kind of company you are keeping, I think it’s only right for you to have it. In case you suddenly disappear, I will at least know where your corpse is buried,” Noah stated. His voice was calmer than the waves in a pond. The apathetic way he spoke of Ariana’s death made the woman furrow her brows in annoyance.
He glanced at her as if she were a child who did not know any better and added in a subtle voice, “I am doing this for your own good.”
Why did she not know Noah was such an annoying man?
“Mister Nelson, I think this is highly inappropriate,” Ariana said to the man who was already walking down the corridor to the examination room.
“Is it?” Noah calmly questioned as he turned his head a fraction to the side. “I think it’s quite appropriate.”
Ariana: ….
She closed her eyes and controlled her breathing while silently questioning if these two men were sent to torment her. After a few inhales and exhales, she looked at the man again and questioned, “When did you put the GPS on my phone?”
With one of his hands in the front pocket of his pants, Noah stared ahead of them. At first, Ariana thought that he was going to ignore her but then a second later, she heard him answer, “That day when you went on rounds.”
“So you repaid my goodness in such a way?” Ariana remarked, staring at the man with her head raised, who looked in front. “I saved your life and this is how you repay me?”
“Are you sure you are not exaggerating?” Noah questioned as he turned to look at the woman with his cold grey eyes. “It was a tiny cut.”
“One that was bleeding a lot!” Ariana quibbled. “You could have died of blood loss if I hadn’t treated you on time.”
“Glad you did, if not, you and your hospital would be facing a lawsuit, one that you would have lost at all costs,” Noah offered her a smile which was not a smile and Ariana almost rushed up to scratch the face of the man.
The two of them stopped in front of Ariana’s office as she turned to look at Noah who stood on her side. After a small pause of two seconds, Ariana couldn’t help but remark, “Don’t you think it’s too late?”
Was it?

Noah couldn’t help but question himself. Ever since the two of them divorced, he continued to tell himself that everything was fine and that Ariana would return to him.
Not once did he consider a future where Ariana hadn’t forgiven him and returned to the Nelson family.
Seeing him silent, Ariana sighed. She pushed open the door and then walked inside the office, where she turned the air conditioner on and then walked around the table to pick up a pair of clean scissors.
“Sit,” she said to Noah as she motioned to the small stool.
Noah arched a brow but did as he was told, he sat down on the stool and watched Ariana pulling a set of new gloves on her hands.
“Aren’t you going to call for the nurse to administer the anaesthesia?” Noah asked when he saw that Ariana was walking over to where he sat, with the pair of scissors in her hands.
“I don’t think so,” Ariana answered with a smile that sent shivers down Noah’s spine. “It’s only going to hurt a little.”
“What——AHHHHH!!”
