Chapter 227: The Picky young master
“Regina,” Inez greeted the woman in a clipped voice. She did not raise her voice nor did she give the woman the pleasure to see her crazed state.
“How are you?” Regina asked as if they were bosom friends. “The last time I saw you was three months ago, am I right?”
“I don’t know,” Inez answered as she stepped past Regina. “I have a bad habit of forgetting those who are insignificant to me.” Her long blonde hair fluttered behind her as the enchanting petals of roses swept past her valiant figure.
Nadia and Zena followed Inez without even looking at Regina whose face turned livid. Why was this woman still so proud? What was she even proud of?!
Inside the greenhouse, Mrs Nelson was speaking to the rest of the women.
“It’s not like that. How can there be a woman who will willingly divorce my son? Even if the rumours are true. It will be my son divorcing that woman as she is nothing like the wife of an aristocratic man,” she sighed heavily while cupping her cheek with a troubled expression.
After a pause, she continued to say, “Whose husband doesn’t go out and have fun once in a while? It’s good enough that they know to return. Is there a need to make a fuss? After all, nothing is more important than the reputation of the family.”
“Well that’s certainly right,” one of the women agreed with what Mrs Nelson said to them. “Men have it hard as well. With the position and power in their hands, many women are willing to seduce them, it is not a surprise that they might slip once in a while. What’s important is to keep the matter under wraps.”
She sipped on her chamomile tea and then continued, “My husband once did the same thing, but I didn’t let anyone even breathe about that matter outside. Just silently dealt with that woman who tried to pull such a stunt under my nose.”
“Ruining the reputation of one’s family is foolish,” agreed another woman with chestnut hair. “If that is the cause of her divorce with your son then I do admit that she deserved it.”
“Isn’t that——”
“I knew that coming to this tea party would lower my IQ. I never expected that it would be this bad.”
A new voice interrupted what Mrs. Nelson was saying, and the women immediately turned to look at Inez who was standing behind them with Mrs Levine.
“Madam De Luca, what do you mean?” Mrs Nelson asked with her chest puffed out as she turned to look at the woman.
“My words were not clear?” Inez tilted her head to one side as she repeated in a calm voice, “I said that you all are so foolish that I am afraid of getting my IQ affected. Were my words clear now?”
“Madam De Luca!”
“That’s so rude!”
“How can you say such a thing to someone?”
The women immediately flew in rage as they stood up from the chairs on which they were sitting as if their bottoms had been set on fire.
“I was just telling the truth,” Inez calmly stated, with one of her hands resting inside the pockets of her pants. “Since when did men’s lack of control over their lower bodies become the fault of the women? Instead of asking a woman to overlook their mistakes, isn’t it better to tell the men to keep their thing in their pants?”
Mrs Nelson guffawed as she looked at Inez as if she were looking at a naive young girl.
“Madam de Luca, men are all the same. The more you restrain them and make them suffer by controlling every aspect of their lives…the more they would want to leave,” Mrs Nelson stated as if she were telling Inez how to calculate two plus two equals four. “If you want to protect your marriage, you need to learn how to give them the freedom that they want.”
Even though she didn’t say it directly, Mrs Nelson was looking down on Inez for not being able to keep her marriage because of her strong values.
“How dare——” Zena began but was stopped by Inez who raised her hand in the air.
She then turned to look at Mrs Nelson and stated coldly, “No wonder your daughter-in-law ran away. If you were my mother-in-law, I would have run away as well.” She took a step forward causing Mrs Nelson to take a step back. “The wedding vows state that a man and woman need to stay with one another for the better and the worse. If you cannot even do something so simple, then isn’t the man an animal and the woman a shameless bitch?”
Inez stared down at Mrs Nelson who was trembling and smirked, “I suppose, I would rather choose a respectful separation than stay with a man who sleeps with shameless women who do not understand that they need to keep their legs closed when facing a married man. Who knows what kind of venereal disease he might catch?”
With that, she picked up a cup of tea that was untouched and drowned the tea. “It’s a good tea, thank you for inviting me, Mrs Levine.” Her gaze wandered over to Regina, whose face was paler than the moon. She then turned to glance at Mrs Nelson before adding, “A woman doing the same is also worthy of condemnation, what do you think?”

On the other side, there was someone else whose face was pale as the moonlight scattered all over the land.
At the Nelson mansion, inside the greenhouse, Noah picked up the mug of coffee and then threw it at the servant.

“What am I paying you for? You can’t even make a simple mug of coffee? What did I tell you? I need the cream and sugar in the ratio of four to three, not three to five!” Noah snapped at the man, who lowered his head in apology.
“Forgive me, Master Nelson. I will go and brew it again,” the servant was certain that he had brewed the coffee in the right ratio but with Noah’s temper in a bad state, the servant dared not to say anything. But inwardly he grumbled,
‘Why is he getting angry at me? Who was the one who chased out his wife?’
