Chapter 241: The first session
“Inez is going to flip her shit,” Kayden threw the last container that held kerosene inside of it on the floor.
With Maximus’s smartphone in their hands, it did not take long for them to hunt down the rest of the traitors before finding this library.
He raised his head and looked at the many bookshelves that were lined inside the building.
“Who would have thought that they were running this library? No wonder, we did not catch these rats,” Kayden picked one of the old books and skimmed through it. Even in his wildest dream would he have never imagined that a group of underground men were running such a decent business in the city?
He, like a fool, kept rounding bars and strip clubs.
“She will flip her shit anyway,” Nicolai stared at the shelf that had medical books neatly stacked. He kept looking at the books for a while before picking one out.
With its snake-green cover and golden words embossed on top of it, the book looked rather interesting.
“Since when did you start reading about psychology? Not that I am saying there is anything wrong with it, you do need it,” Kayden said to Nicolai as he threw his arm around his shoulder. His eyes peered at the book’s cover.
Nicolai rolled his eyes and shoved the man off him. “Like you are any better,” he gave Kayden a stinky look before turning his attention to the book. After a quick thought, he brought it outside with him.
Once the two brothers strode out of the library, Kayden took out a lighter from the pockets of his pants and turned around on his feet before hurling the burning lighter inside the main lobby of the library.
The lighter fell on the floor with a clatter before flames started to rise from the floor to the roof like dancing snakes.
“Mhmm!!” A bunch of muffled screams echoed in the now-silent library.
Kayden turned to look at the men who were tied after being beaten black and blue. He smirked and said, “Don’t worry little ones, we will remember to send your corpse to your master. Aren’t you happy that we are giving you a chance to prove your loyalty to your boss?”
Earlier they had asked these men to hand over any information that they had about Roman, but they refused.
“Being burnt alive is not an extreme punishment given that my wrist hurts after punching you all in the face,” Kayden winked at the men. “This is the hand of a future lawyer. Be a bit more sensible in your next lives,”
He turned on his feet and followed Nicolai who was marching down to the foot of the stairs.
Next to him was the woman who witnessed this, and had a look of horror on her face. She did not dare to even breathe loudly. When Nicolai stepped close to the woman, he questioned the woman in a calm voice,
“What’s wrong? Never seen arson before?”
“Y—-you never told me that people will have to die …there was nothing about murder and arson when I was asked to seduce Maximus,” the woman stammered.
Would she be captured by the police because of her involvement?
“You tried to escape from the debt that you could have easily paid, and look where it brought you. That man and these fuckers did something even worse, did you really think that I will play patty cakes with them?” Nicolai raised his eyebrows as he rolled his eyes. He turned to look at Kayden and commented, “Next time shove your thing in someone smarter, idiocy is contagious, I am telling you.”
“Don’t worry sweetheart. Our men will clean up well behind us, you will not be caught, as long as you keep your mouth shut,” Kayden made a shushing gesture. “Just keep your lips sealed and everything will be fine.” As he spoke, he threw a wad of cash at the woman who caught it.
The woman no longer wanted to follow these two crazy men, she took the money and ran away.
Kayden then turned to look at Nicolai and questioned, “What should we do about the bastard in the trash bag? Don’t tell me you want to buy a cute little grave for him before burying him?”
“How can I do that when he is going to make such a wonderful gift?” Nicolai chuckled as he slid inside the car. “Send his head to the Flints, it will be a little nice gift for Regina, and oh, don’t forget the greeting card. We don’t want any complications as for his body…”
Nicolai’s eyes flashed as he smirked, one of the corners of his mouth rising upwards.
“Send it to the Serpents.”

At the hospital, Ariana had just finished her daily routine and headed to the psychiatric department where Doctor Stoll was waiting for her. She came across a few doctors who greeted her, before continuing their work.
On her way, she glanced at the patients who had come to get their treatment. Among them was a man who was quibbling with the nurses as he insistingly said, “I am not sick. There is no way I overdosed on alcohol. I know my limits and I know when to stop, you all are just trying to make money from this poor old man.”

“Sir,” Cole who stood in front of the agitated man began in a calm voice, “Persistent stomach ache and desire to urinate every so often are the signs of second-stage alcohol overdose. Your liver is showing signs of failure. If you cooperate with us, then you might get better very soon.”
However, the man was persistent as he refused. “No! I have no money even if you lie to me, I cannot pay for this damned treatment! Just hand me some painkillers, and I will be fine.”
“Why don’t you listen to the doctors?” His wife who stood behind him said to the man. Her face scrunched in worry.
“You stay quiet, you don’t know anything. They are just trying to milk money out of us,” the man waved his hand and pushed his wife behind him.
