Chapter 246: Letting loose (2)
Daphne pretended not to understand what Ariana was saying to her, “I have no idea what you are talking about. I don’t even know any Mister Sandler. Doctor Harlow instead of playing detective, why don’t you pay attention to performing your duties as a doctor instead?”
With that, she freed her hand from Ariana’s grip and dusted off the dust off her hand which might have gotten on her wrist just because Ariana held her hand.
“Now, if you are done playing detective, I have some important matters to take care of,” Daphne said with a calm voice, but the mockery in her eyes was clear as day.
‘Continuous suppression can lead to an explosion, Doctor Harlow. Sometimes you need to let loose,’
Doctor Stoll’s advice flashed in her mind as Ariana narrowed her eyes.
‘Let loose?’ She thought before shrugging her shoulders.
With her hand reaching forward Ariana clasped hold of Daphne’s hair as she knotted her fingers inside the locks of the woman and pulled her back
“AHHH! What do you think you are doing?” Daphne had not expected Ariana to do something like this. She tried to wriggle free of the grip that was holding her hair, but no matter how much she tried, she couldn’t just do it.
“What do you think?” Ariana calmly questioned the woman as she dragged her back. “Do you think you can continue sabotaging me as you like, and I will do nothing about it?”
Daphne’s hands clutched her head while she tried to struggle free.
“You…you are going to face disciplinary action just you wait. I will tell the seniors that you attacked a fellow intern,” Daphne gasped in pain. She set out to attack Ariana but the second she moved, Daphne felt her hair being pulled out of her scalp.
“Go ahead,” Ariana told the woman in a calm voice. “You do your own things and I will do mine. I think compared to you telling the higher-ups about a physical assault, the fact that you tried to sabotage a fellow intern would bring a much more severe punishment.”
“You have no evidence!”
“Then, do you have one?” Ariana questioned the woman with her lips curled in a sneer. “I have done nothing other than pull your hair, and here there are no CCTV cameras.”
Daphne glanced around the small corridor and indeed did not find a single CCTV camera.
“What do you want?” Daphne asked her.
“Nothing much,” Ariana smiled charmingly at the woman. “You seemed to have been sneaking around the psychiatric ward quite a lot. Is it because of me?”
Daphne stiffened even though she did not answer, Ariana knew what she was hiding.
“Anyway, I would suggest you stray clear of my path because just so you …even if I do something unsightly to you——I will be given a lighter sentence,” Ariana let go of the woman whose hair she was holding.
With a smile gracing her lips she added coldly, “Just so you know if you do something like this again. It will not end in just a threat.”
Daphne stared at Ariana in horror.
“Crazy…you are crazy!” She turned on her feet and was about to walk away when her gaze fell on the man who stood on the other side of the corridor.
When she saw that someone had caught Ariana threatening her, she hurried over to the other side.
“Kind sir, did you see that woman threatening me just now?” Daphne was certain that she would be able to push the higher-ups into giving Ariana a stern punishment if she had the testimony of a witness.
The man, however, chuckled upon seeing her desperation. He then leaned down and said, “I only heard the part where you confessed and agreed to sabotage your colleague.”
“What—— I have never….”
“Did you never do that?” Nicolai arched a brow and Daphne pursed her lips.
She stared at Nicolai and then turned her attention to Ariana before stomping her feet and walking away.
The two of them watched the woman leave before Nicolai turned to look at Ariana and said to her, “I think I need to apologize to you.”
Ariana furrowed her brows as she asked, “What did you do that would require you to apologize to me, Mister De Luca?”

“Isn’t it, my fault that you started handing out threats to others?” Nicolai tilted his head to the side. “I never thought that I would see a side of you like this. Looks like my mother was right. The nature of a person can change depending on the company they keep.”
“I was asked to not suppress my emotions. It has nothing to do with Mister De Luca,” Ariana explained the situation to Nicolai lest he misunderstood her.
“And how did it feel?” Nicolai asked as he walked over to where Ariana stood. He was sipping on a sweet latte while walking over to Ariana. He came to a stop in front of her and tilted his head to the side before saying, “Did you like it?”
Ariana stared down at the hand which was clasping Daphne’s hair just a second ago and then shook off the strands of hair that she had pulled out. She replied, “It doesn’t feel all that great.”
She was lying. Her heart felt extremely light as she had released her pent-up anger instead of suppressing it.
But this pleasure —— Ariana felt it was too dangerous.
“Here,” Nicolai stared at her for two seconds before handing her a cup of black coffee.
“What’s this?” Ariana asked in surprise as she held the large cup of coffee in her hands out of instinct as the cup would have fallen if she did not hold it.
“A cup of coffee,” Nicolai curled one side of his lips before saying, “I asked them to make it according to your taste, does it taste delicious?”
Ariana took a sip of the coffee and blinked her eyes before saying, “It’s just how I like it…how did you know?” She was certain even Noah did not know her taste.
“Observation duh,” Nicolai rolled his eyes. “I am trying to woo you, this is the least amount of effort I can put in my chase.”
