Mister Sandler was not alone, he was talking to a few of his friends while hugging a different woman. He was hugging the woman while whispering something in her ear. The woman smiled upon hearing the sweet words that Mister Sandler said to her, something Ariana was certain he must have said to many women.

That woman leaned against Mister Sandler and kissed him on the chin, permitting Mister Sandler to act even more wantonly than before.

Ariana immediately looked away as the sight was too much for her to bear.

“Do you want the wine to be served right away? Or do you want to settle down first?” The server asked Nicolai as the latter sat down on the plush couch.

“Forget about wine, bring me some strong whiskey and some light drinks for the lady, she has work to do after this,” Nicolai said to the server, who nodded and went to the counter of the bar.

On the other side, at the table of Mister Sandler, the laughter ended abruptly as one of the men who sat at Mister Sandler’s Table questioned, “So what happened? Were you able to solve the trouble, Collin? The one that had disrupted your peace?”

“Don’t even ask me about that,” Mister Sandler huffed with a hint of arrogance. “That bitch of a doctor did not agree to sign the consent form even when I asked her nicely. No matter how much I raised the price, she pretended to be all noble with me. As if!”

With his free hand, he took a swig of his drink.

“She must have been greedy for more money and continued to refuse,” Mister Sandler arrogantly announced.

“Then, does that mean that your trouble is yet to be solved?” Another one of his friends asked, and that was when Mister Sandler’s expression turned even more smug.

He rolled his eyes and said, “How could that be? Have you ever seen me not being able to get what I want?”

With a thud, he placed the glass of wine on the table and sneered coldly, “All I needed to do was to sneak inside the office, that woman was careless enough to leave the room unattended. I then looked around the room and snapped a picture of her signature. With enough money, I had it copied and signed the consent form.”

In his drunken haze, he took out the consent form and waved it in front of everyone.

“See this?” Collin said to his friends. “These are the forged signatures of that bitch. Now even if she were to get arrested and questioned, it has nothing to do with me. Who asked her to not listen to me when I kindly handed her the bribe?”

“Now, it’s going to be double the loss for her.”

“You are so wicked, Collin,” a man with light-brown hair and green eyes jeered.

“Well of course,” Collin winked with a smirk as if he were indeed a bad boy who had seen better than the rest.

However, just as he was about to tuck the consent form back in the breast pocket of his jacket, he felt it getting snatched from his hand.

“Who dares?” He turned around and found himself face to face with none other than Nicolai de Luca. The anger on Collin’s face immediately disappeared, and he flatteringly smiled at the man. “Mister Nicolai, what are you doing here?”

“Forget about me, what do you think you are doing?” Nicolai turned to look at the man, his lips were curled in a smile, but his eyes were filled with rage. “Who do you think you are to play such nasty tricks on my Pallas?”

“Excuse me?” Collin did not understand what Nicolai was trying to say at first, but that was until he noticed Ariana sitting at the same table where Nicolai was, his eyes widened in surprise while his head snapped to Nicolai’s. “You know her?”

“Or else?” Nicolai stood up from the spot where he was sitting and so did Collin. “Why do you think I am accompanying her, Sandler? Never mind that, tell me why you were snooping around her office like a rat, which is, in fact, my cousin’s, and she is just using it as she is his student.”

Mister Sandler tried to save his face and tried to convince Nicolai,

“It is a misunderstanding, Nicolai. I wasn’t trying to do anything wrong, it was this woman who didn’t understand what she should and shouldn’t do.” He jerked his head towards Ariana and continued, I will suggest that you look for another woman, as this one is foolishly naive and not fit for your taste and position.”

Ariana’s eyes widened as she spoke up in her defense, “I do understand what is wrong and right. It is not my fault that the wrongs and rights of Mister Sandler are warped and twisted. You impregnated someone and didn’t come to abort the child on time and now that the woman is in a perilous situation, you want her to abort her child? That would be no different from a murder, you stupid man!”

It was clear that this man was not the one who placed the bouquet of hyacinths in her room, but he was not innocent either. Snooping around and forging her signature, it could lead her to serious trouble.

“You dared to forge my signature and have designs to put me behind bars just because I refused to listen to your unruly demands? You are pathetic!” Ariana blamed Mister Sandler angrily.

Nicolai’s eyes moved to Ariana whose expression was calm despite the angry words that she was speaking before turning to look at Collin.

“I think that you seem to have quite a bit of pent-up frustration in your body, Collin,” Nicolai remarked. “Isn’t it, your third time doing the same thing? The two doctors from before are yet to come out of the prison, and you are looking for a third one already. Do you hate your father, or do you have something against the doctors?”

“Or do you have no idea about how to put rubber on, little baby? I can teach you if you are finding it too difficult.”
