Chapter 266: Not into little girls (2)
But of course, the girl did not leave. She chased after Nicolai who marched down the parking lot, it was a freaking surprise to Nicolai as he had never expected Penelope to give him a chase in those high heels.
“Brother Nico. You can deny it all you want, but the truth is that the two of us are well-matched,” Penny tiptoed around the protruding rocks on the path while trying her best to not slip as the street was wet due to yesterday’s rain. “The two of us are supposed to be together. No, we are destined to be together.”
“Don’t know, don’t care,” at times like these, Nicolai was annoyed by the fact that he wasn’t born with a — ‘Born to shoot whoever irritates me,’ right?
F*ck friendship and f*ck the consequences.
“Why would you refuse me? If you marry me, you can get the Ashford family on your side,” Penelope continued to chase after Nicolai as she yammered away. “No woman other than me is worthy of you, Brother Nico.”
“Together we can be invincible. No one will look down on the Phantoms or the Ashford family. This is what we need.”
“What ‘we’?” Nicolai turned on his feet as he opened the door on the driver’s side. “There is no ‘we’, there is no ‘us,’ that you speak off. There is only ‘you,’ Penny. You are the one who wants this marriage, honestly, I don’t see what you see in me, but I am a hundred and ten per cent sure—— I am not a motherf*cking prince that woman would want.”
“But I still like you,” whispered Penelope, she reached forward to hold Nicolai’s hand, but the latter pulled back, as her touches stung him.
“And like I said… I do not like you,” Nicolai rolled his eyes. This was the first time he had met with someone who was even more thick-headed than him, and he was yet to understand what he felt about this situation.
“Why!?” Penelope questioned, eyes marred with desperation. “I am better than any woman you have been with.”
Over the years, as Penelope had grown up, she had been pampered and cared for by her family. She got everything that she wanted, and no one had ever refused her. She was used to getting her way, and it was more than upsetting that Nicolai was refusing to give her what she wanted.
Especially when she was desperate.
“Because I am not into little girls,”
“What?” Penelope was certain that she had misheard.
“I don’t like little girls, alright?” Nicolai pointed to her bosom and quirked one side of his mouth, “Is that the latest CH padded bra? Don’t deny it, I have seen it before. Though the effect is nice, it looks rather unnatural, don’t you agree?”
Penelope’s face turned red in embarrassment.
“You promised to take me on a dinner date,” Penelope changed the subject as she did not wish to continue with the present one.
“And I will just stop badgering me,” Nicolai slid inside his car. He turned the ignition on and turned to glance at Penelope, “But before that, don’t turn up in front of me again. Because I don’t know whether someone told you or not, you will look fantastic in a casket surrounded by white lilies.”
Leaving those words, he drove away. Was he an a*shole for doing that? Leaving his friend’s sister behind and sh*t but here was the thing, he did not live for people, he lived for himself.
And being nice was yet to be coded in his system.
Penelope looked at the ferocious red sports car that was getting farther and farther. She bit her lip and stomped like a child, she had planned everything perfectly and was certain that she would wear down the guard that Nicolai had against her.
But the fantasies that she had and built in her head were far more different than the reality she had to face.
“Nicolai de Luca! I will have you! Even if it is the last thing I do, I will make you kneel.”

At the apartment building,
“Who did you say sent these flowers?” Ariana questioned the delivery boy. It was eleven in the morning, and she had just woken up, and before she could even brush her teeth she was forced to take a delivery.
“It’s Mister De Luca,” the delivery boy answered and Ariana was momentarily speechless. In which alternative reality did she tell Nicolai that she wanted flowers?
Because she was certain that she didn’t. At least not in this world.
Ariana rubbed her forehead, there was a slight furrow between her brows which showed her annoyance.
However, it was too early in the morning and Ariana did not wish to quibble with the delivery guy nor did she want to make the day worse for this poor man who had done nothing wrong.

“Where do I need to sign?” Ariana said to the man who came to deliver the flowers, and she was certain that the man heaved a sigh of relief when she accepted them.
“Here,” the man pushed the small pad that he carried with him that had receipts of delivery stuck on it. “Please sign your name right under the receiver’s name.”
Ariana nodded as she signed her name and took the bouquet. It was heavy, heavier than any bouquet she had carried and the scent of jasmine was rather nice.
As she carried the bouquet inside her apartment and closed the door behind her, the scent of jasmine scattered all over the room.
Like its obnoxious sender, who seemed to be bent on filling every nook and cranny of her world, the bouquet of jasmine seemed to have dominated every corner of her apartment.
She could smell them everywhere.
“That damned man,” Ariana stared at the large bouquet which was bigger than Timmy and facepalmed. “What is he even trying to do?”
