Chapter 330: Nico meets Mrs Harlow
Ariana froze. She turned to look around the corridor before turning to look at Nicolai. However, the man just stood there smiling at her like a bumbling fool.

“Can you not say such things, Mister de Luca?” Ariana spoke to him in a low voice.

“Why? Don’t tell me you are preparing to sweep everything under the rug. Are you?” Nicolai took a step towards her, his gigantic figure almost overshadowed Ariana. “You are, aren’t you? You are going to throw me now that you are done using me. I didn’t know that you were such a scumbag, Pallas.”

“I am not. I was drugged and drunk, I don’t remember half of the things that happened last night.”

Nicolai’s eyes flashed with something as he reached forward to take Ariana’s hand, and she stepped back.

It wasn’t an attempt to deny his touch but to keep her sanity intact. Ariana was afraid that if she let the man touch her again, she might crumble just like yesterday.

And she needed to hold on to her remaining sanity, as she was already on the verge of losing it.

She was still not over how cosy his embrace felt or how comfortable his touches were when he held her, spoke to her and unravelled her in ways that terrified her.

And yet, Ariana wanted more of it.

She closed her eyes to suppress those feelings, as she knew that it was not possible.

Ariana knew how flawed she was, and she did not wish anyone to cut themselves on the broken pieces of her dark and twisted soul.

Last Night when she had lost her temper Ariel was enough of an alarm to wake her up from her delusion of how she was still where she was and how she had not gotten better even in the slightest.

Which was why she had to pretend to be normal even better than she did in the past.

And getting entangled with a mafia prince was not exactly the definition of being normal.

Not to mention he brought things out of her that she did not want to face.

“I see,’ Nicolai dropped his hand and with a blank face, he remarked, “Is that why all the marks that I have left on your skin are concealed?”

No sooner did he say those words, than Ariana’s eyes flashed with anger and little flames ignited in her blue eyes.

‘That’s right, princess break for me,’ Nicolai grinned inwardly. Because only when Ariana lost control of her emotions did he see the real her.

And he was certain that she was nowhere as polite, demure and elegant as everyone took her as his Pallas had a wild streak.

The fact that her core had tightened when they were outside with the danger of getting caught and the way she had lapped all his essence off his fingers like a good little girl.

He knew that there was more to Ariana than she let it show.

“Why did you leave your marks in plain sight, Mister de Luca?” She nearly finished a bottle of concealer while trying to hide the marks in the morning.

“Hmm..you don’t like it? Then I will make sure to not leave them in plain sight next time.”

“Mister de Luca—”

“Nico,” he leaned forward and whispered against her lips. “You called me, Nico, just fine when my fingers were buried inside of you, and you were shattering in my arms.”

Heat surged in her cheeks as well as somewhere else.

Ariana could feel her temper and emotions fraying, this shouldn’t be happening.

Not now.

Not when she had spent the entire morning locked up in her head.

“Don’t mention it,’ Ariana snapped. However, there was a pleading note in her voice.

“I thought we clarified it,” Nicolai stepped into her space. His giant build pushed her back and the ink that was scattered all over his skin rippled with every movement that he made. “Both of us know that you are not as reluctant to be with me as you show. In fact, it will be better to say that you know that being with me is much better than pinning on a selfish, blinded, self-centred stupid bastard.”

“I cannot only make you forget about him in bed but also it’s not difficult for me to erase his traces.”

“Speaking of bastards, I will like it if you stay away from that bastard named Cole.”

Ariana curled her lips and said to him, “I don’t think you are in the position to tell me that like I said.”

“You didn’t seem to be minding my lack of position last night when you were coming on my fingers,” Nicolai hissed.

His jaw worked as he looked down at the woman who was still acting stubborn even though she had felt, tasted and experienced how good they were together.

Ariana glared at him. For a second, she wanted to slap the man, at least that would stop him from speaking. But Ariana did not think it was the right thing to do, regardless of what Nicolai had helped.

‘Why can he not understand, I am doing this for him, what happened last night with Ariel cannot happen again. Especially not with him,’ Ariana clenched her fingers as she bit her lower lip harshly. She could hurt him.

Unless she gets better, she could not even think of entangling with him because he brought a part of her which was dangerous for him, for her— for both of us.

She would rather have him leave her alone than hate her.

With Noah, she didn’t have the same fear, as the man had suppressed her until she was no longer her person. But Nicolai—

“I have no idea what are you talking about—”

One moment he was standing away from her and the next second, he was right in her face. A nerve dangerously throbbed in his jaw. He reached out and positioned her by curling his fingers around her neck.

“Don’t you dare fuck me, Ariana? You and I both know that you were willing to fall apart in my arms last night.”

“You asked me to blame you, Mister de Luca,” Ariana closed her eyes and clenched her fingers. “This is me blaming you, so please step back.”

Nicolai bared his teeth, “You better stay away from men who have no reasons to breathe next to you. Or I will make sure that they never breathe again.” His threat was loud and clear.
