Chapter 342: Bold and Spoiled
However, two seconds later the weight on her back disappeared. Ariana, who could only hear ringing in her ears, heard a worried voice calling her name,
“Ariana—Doctor Harlow, can you hear me?”
“Ai—Aiden?” Ariana croaked feeling as if her voice box had been smashed before being haphazardly put together. She blinked her eyes but could not see anything because of the blood covering her eyes.
“It’s me,” Aiden heaved a sigh of relief. He helped Ariana sit up straight on the floor before taking out a handkerchief from his coat’s pocket. “Sit still, okay? Or else the cloth of the handkerchief will poke you in the eye.”
Ariana hummed as she closed her eyes and let Aiden clean the blood that had dripped down her forehead. She winced when the man pressed the soft fabric of the handkerchief against her injury.
“It’s alright,” she heard Aiden say. “Though there is a cut here, it’s not deep. It will heal in a few days.” He then turned to look at the front before remarking in a casual voice, “Though I cannot say the same for them.”
Ariana followed his line of sight and sucked in a breath.
Like a wild beast who had been unchained, Nicolai was attacking the men who had tried to drag her forcefully.
His right hand was wrapped in the multiple chains that he usually wore around his neck and as he brought his fist heavily on the face of the man who had tackled her—
Blood splattered all over the place including Nicolai’s face and clothes.
So that was why he wore those chains Ariana thought to herself.
She turned to look at Aiden and questioned, “Will he kill them?”
“No,” replied Aiden as he took out an ointment to help her with the scratches that were bleeding. “Nico might look like he is all brawn and no brain, but the truth is that he is sharper than people give him credit for.”
“He certainly knows that killing those bastards here would lead to trouble, he would not do something as foolish as killing them.”
Ariana heaved a sigh of relief. She did not want Nicolai to get into legal trouble because of her. She was not exactly worth it.
“Grit your teeth,” Aiden commanded as he unscrewed the lid of the ointment. “Fortunately, I always carry a first aid box with me so we don’t need to go to the hospital.”
A good thing, too. The last thing Ariana wanted was to be swarmed by people asking her about what happened. She had no desire to relive this tragic moment in fact, she wanted nothing more than to forget it as if it were a nightmare.
While Aiden dealt with her major and minor injuries, Nicolai’s eyes were glowing a deadly red under the dim lighting of the back of the parking lot.
“If you are so tired of living then you should have come to me directly,” he growled at the men whom he was holding in a chokehold. He kicked the other one while glaring at the fourth one. “I would have gladly killed you, why did you have to take so much trouble?”
As Nicolai threw the two men who had been almost choked to death by him to the ground, he marched towards the bodyguards who were protecting Penelope.
The sight of Ariana being cruelly tackled by these men whom Penelope had brought with her, flashed in front of his eyes and Nicolai felt the rage in his heart turn even more intense.
His vision turned even darker than his eyes as he raised his foot and smashed it right on the face of the man rushing towards him.
No sooner did his boot make contact with the face of the man— that bastard coughed and spurted a mouthful of blood. Good. How dare he chase his Pallas as if she were some sort of rat to be cornered?
But that was not enough. He wanted more, more fucking more.
The rage that he felt needed to be quelled before he lost his damn fucking mind. Nicolai punched, kicked and smashed the heads of the bastards who didn’t know better than to keep their damn hands to themselves.
How nice those hands looked while dangling limply on their sides, why couldn’t they have kept those hands stuck to their sides just like that? It would have saved them the trouble of pleading with him.
‘How many of these bastards are here anyway?’ Nicolai thought as he pummeled another one to the ground. He raised his arm again when —
“Mister de Luca!”
“Nico!”
Two screams echoed in the parking lot stopping Nicolai in his path to destruction. He panted heavily as he looked at Penelope, who held her hands in front of her while hiding behind her assistant.

“Mister de Luca, you cannot hit Miss Penelope,” said the man even though his legs were trembling like two twigs in a storm.
Nicolai’s rage which had clouded his eyes cleared up a little as he turned his attention to Penelope who was trembling behind her assistant.
He lowered his hand, which was balled up and ready to smash her face until Penelope could forget her true appearance.
Seeing him lower his hand, both the assistant and Penelope heaved a sigh of relief.
Indeed, even if Nicolai did not show any respect to Penelope, he had to show enough respect and consideration for her last name.
“Mister de Luca, I hope that you will hand Miss Penelope a proper apology for your boorish and disrespectful actions—”
The assistant was still speaking when Nicolai raised his hand and slapped him heavily on the face.
The sound of his slap echoed in the parking lot, the assistant who had never faced such a situation stumbled before falling onto the side.
His eyes rolled back in the sockets of his eyes.
“Ahhh!!” Penelope screamed as she took several steps back, but one of her heels ended up getting caught in drainage holes, and she fell back on her bottom heavily.
And even though she reached out her hand for Nicolai to take, the latter did only glance at her outstretched hand but made no move to take it.
