Chapter 353: Pushing her to edge (2)
It took Ariana an entire half an hour by the time she arrived at the address of the penthouse that Nicolai had sent to her.
A part of her continued telling her to turn around and go back home, sit down and think everything through calmly.
After all, regardless of what Nicolai was nothing to her, she had claimed and admitted this many times while accepting it a thousand times a day.
It seemed quite a bit hilarious on her part that she was now rushing over to his penthouse just because he sent her a message and told her that he might be sleeping with another woman tonight.
Why did it matter to her? Why should she care if he was with Penelope or someone else?
‘I am just doing this because that woman is just not worth him,’ thought Ariana as she turned on her feet and marched down the corridor before coming to a stop in front of the elevator.
She punched in the floor number that Nicolai had sent to her before taking the lift to the penthouse. Once she arrived at the floor, she brushed past the doors of the elevator and headed to the only door on the floor.
Ariana knew that she should have rung the doorbell, and waited for Nicolai to come out before trying to talk sense to him about how Penelope was not the one for him.
But instead, what she did was push the door open and barge inside the penthouse, like it was her very own place.
It was a really beautiful penthouse, with a pool in the living room. Why it was even there, Ariana had no idea.
Not to mention the penthouse had no walls or roof — no, it did have walls and a roof. But they were made of glass, overlooking the city and the sky.
The penthouse was drowned in dim golden lighting, which made Ariana’s blood boil. Couldn’t he have waited for another ten minutes? Was it so hard for him to keep it in his pants?
The emotions that she was so proud of always being in control were ripping at the edges, and her anger seemed to have become an entity of its own. It was now balling its fists and urging Ariana to leave the matter to it.
The sound of water running reached Ariana, followed by a familiar voice speaking in a soft simpering tone, “Nico, I am done, washing. You can take a bath now.”
There was a subtle purr in her voice.
Ariana should have turned on her feet and left this place altogether, there was no need for her to bother a man like Nicolai. The two of them were too different.
She just required a bit more time, and she would be able to pretend that everything was fine. That she was in control.
“I think we should do a white wedding, what do you say, Nico? After tonight—our relationship will be more or less solidified.”
The words smacked the remaining resolve that Ariana had in her heart, like a bull who had lost all its rationality she rushed in the direction from where the voices were coming from.
Like an alcoholic, her brain was working slower than her limbs and she was falling headfirst, as for the wave of nausea— it had simply gripped her so tightly that her head felt heavier than ever.
She wanted to throw up but couldn’t because that would waste the precious minutes that she had on her hands.
Ariana pushed open the door and was greeted by the sight of Nicolai sitting on the bed while tapping on his phone.
Penelope was clad in only a towel as she rummaged through a good deal of lingerie that she had brought with her.
Each one of them was simply beyond skimpy.
Nicolai raised his head when he heard the sound of the door opening, his gaze shot up and met with Ariana as soon as she came to a stop at the doorway.
His eyes darkened in a way she did not like, and she watched the man curl his lip upward into a cruel smile.
Nicolai said to Penelope, “You want a white wedding? Isn’t red much better?”
“We can have any kind of wedding you want, baby.”
The string of rationality snapped so fast that Ariana did not even realize it. Her vision turned red as she pushed open the door completely and charged at the woman.
Mine. How dare she still what was fucking hers!

While she was on the way to this penthouse, Ariana thought that she was furious because she thought that she felt more or less sympathetic towards Nicolai who was getting involved with a woman like Penelope.
That she was rushing down here because she didn’t want him to make a mistake by choosing a woman like her.
That he deserved someone better.
But it was hitting her now—the thought that she had been ignoring was crashing down on her like a tidal wave.
It wasn’t just Penelope—but every single woman. As long as she wasn’t the one next to Nicolai, she did not want to see anyone standing next to him.
It was a selfish and greedy thought, a woman like her shouldn’t even have it. Her mother would certainly frown down on her if she were to know that she had done something like that but —
“I will rip your fucking head, you bitch!” Ariana shouted as she slammed her forearm against Penelope’s neck.
She fell screaming in terror like a banshee, as she was not prepared for something like this to happen.
Ariana did not give two flying fucks about her mother at the moment. Because the very thought that another woman was about to touch him, was driving her to an edge.
It was never about her being kind and looking out for one of her friends.
What she felt at that very moment was sheer possessiveness. Towards him at that.
Fucking hell! Why the hell was this even happening to her?
Ariana did not stop to think, instead, she knotted her fingers in Penelope’s hair and pulled her up on her feet.
