Chapter 356: Brother’s warning
On the other side, Penelope returned to the penthouse, where she was living with Keon at the moment.
Furious and frustrated with how she had been treated by Nicolai, she stormed inside the penthouse after punching in the code.
Once she walked past the door, Penelope took off her heels and threw them on the marble floor. With a clatter and three bounces, the heels came to a skidding halt.
Humiliation rolled off her skin as she screamed, “Aaaargh!” Her hands messing up her styled hair.
Her shoulders were hunched as she breathed in and out heavily. Not only that but her eyes were red with anger and tears that she had shed throughout the entire ride.
However, that was not enough to calm her anger. She gritted her teeth and picked up the vase which sat on the small circular table with willowy legs and threw it on the floor.
It broke into pieces instantly.
“How dare you treat me like this, how dare you!?” Penelope shrieked angrily as she picked one thing after another and continued to hurl them on the floor.
The servants hid behind the doors of the kitchen and other rooms, as they dared not to stop Penelope, who seemed to have lost elegance and the air of kindness that she usually carried with her.
She now seemed rather unhinged.
“Miss Penelope,” a startled voice cried out.
And in came an elderly man rushing down the stairs of the second floor as he looked at the woman who was bent on ruining the entire house. “Calm down, Miss Penelope. That’s a hundred million dollar antic, you—you cannot throw it—”
No sooner than he said those words, the antique that the butler had been trying to protect went down on the floor as well with a crash.
“No!!!” The elderly butler let out a cry as he looked at the remnants of what was left of the precious antique. He clutched the left side of his chest, feeling as if he were about to get an attack.
“What’s going on here?” Keon, who had just returned home when he, heard the screams and yells of agony echoing down the corridor, even the soundproofing of his house did little to nothing to stop the noise.
He turned around and looked at the mess on the floor before turning to look at the elderly butler, “Michael?”
Michael turned and looked at Keon. His eyes brightened as if he were looking at his saviour. He walked over to where Keon stood and said to him, “Master Keon, please put a stop to this madness!”
As soon as he finished speaking, Penelope smashed another antique, this was two hundred years old.
Michael gasped, rising to the toes of his foot as he looked at the antique picture that had been thrown on the ground carelessly.
“You should go and sleep, Michael,” said Keon while looking at the poor old man, whose face was contorted in sheer agony. “I will take care of this matter for you.”
Michael seemed like he very much wanted to stay behind in case Penelope was to ruin any more paintings or vases, but something about the tone which Keon had used made him pause.
He nodded and agreed, “Very well, I will leave this matter to you then, Master Keon.” Then, after giving Penelope one final look, he turned on his feet and marched down the corridor to take his medicine to control his rising blood pressure.
Keon, on the other hand, took off his suit jacket and threw it down on the couch. He came to a stop behind Penelope and spoke in an even tone, “That will be enough. Put the painting down, lest you want me to freeze your cards.”
Those words were like a switch., Penelope who was raging like a bull, immediately calmed down as she brought her hands down.
“Keon! You have to help me get back at Nico! You have to! He has humiliated me in ways you cannot even expect. First, he brought me to the penthouse and then for a woman he kicked me out! He actually used me as a bait—”
“Is this woman the very same one you asked your bodyguard’s squad to kidnap for a forceful signing of a live donor agreement?” Keon asked in a calm voice which sounded almost serene.
Penelope was still in the middle of her complaint when she heard Keon’s question. She choked on her words and looked at Keon in shock with a hint of defiance on her face.
“Who told you this?” She asked.
“Never mind that,” Keon spoke in a deadly cold voice. “Answer my question, Penny.”
“Keon, you have to listen to me first—”

“Yes or no Penny! Yes or no?”
Keon had unexpectedly raised his voice at Penny, who flinched.
“Yes,” after a long pause, Penny answered. Since Keon already knew the truth, there was no point in hiding it anymore.
SLAP!
No sooner did she confess the truth, Keon raised his hand and slapped the woman right across her face.
Penny’s face turned to one side as she blinked her eyes. A part of her refused to admit that she had been slapped, but the stinging sensation on her face told her that she was indeed not dreaming and that Keon had slapped her.
“How dare you! For a woman of no bearing—”
“So what if she is a woman of no bearing? Do you think she is a trapped canary a rabbit or a cat? That as long as you don’t like her or disdain her, you can kill her?”
Penelope stiffened but for only a few seconds before she spoke, “I have no idea what you are talking about, Keon.”
“Do you think that I am dad or mom? Or one of those fools you have wrapped around your pinky?”
“What do you mean by this—what do you mean fools?”
When Penelope pretended to be innocent, Keon smiled at her. However, there was something sharp about his smile which made her shiver.
