Chapter 373: Sister’s foolish revenge
“Excellent, really excellent, Nico,” Aiden said angrily as he used a cotton ball clasped in tweezers to wipe the blood from the back of Nicolai’s hand. “You knew that he was goading you and yet, you let him.”
Nicolai didn’t speak, he stared at the floor underneath his feet. His heart was in turmoil, it was a perfect mix of anger, nervousness and many more emotions that he didn’t understand.
He didn’t know what to make of those emotions, but he knew that they meant a perfect combination of violence.
He needed blood —pooling under his feet and the sound of bones breaking echoing in his ears.
He needed out.
“Nico,” Aiden clasped his wrist. “Don’t let Noah inside your head, he was provoking you. Ari did what any doctor would have done. Saving his life… I hate to admit this, but if Cole and I were stuck in the same situation if I could, I would have saved his life as well.”
He paused and added, “Cole would have done the same thing for me.”
Too late, Aiden. That fucker was down and deep in his head.
“I got it,” Nicolai said to Aiden as he got to his feet.
Blood, bones and flesh — these words echoed in his head like a chant.
Of course, Nicolai knew that what Aiden was telling him was correct as Aiden was usually the brains of their team when Zena was not there to control them.
It was he who made sure that he and Kayden stayed alive and didn’t off themselves in the most spectacular ways.
But not today. Today was one of those days when he was in the mood to destroy everything — including himself. He was high on drugs that didn’t even exist.
Kill. Kill. Kill.
Rip someone’s head…and use it as a football.
“Nico, you should …take your pills,” he heard Aiden say from somewhere behind, but Nicolai had no plans of heeding his word.
He didn’t need his pills to quench his anger. Nicolai knew that his doctors said that what he had was some sort of mental illness called Intermittent explosive diddy dum or something along the lines.
His mother had taken him to a psychiatrist when he was thirteen when he had gotten in a fight with half of the class when someone had made fun of Zena for being adopted. Almost beating four of them until they resembled the victims of an elephant stampede.
According to the men in white, it was alright for him to feel angry and protective of his sister. It was a good thing that he was such a good brother.
But what was not nice was him demanding that he should be allowed to go back and beat the remaining class until they were in their graves.
That he was going to rip their tongues out and shove them inside their arseholes since they spouted so much shit, their tongues might as well be shoved in their own.
Literally.
Yup, the men in white were not jolly well after listening to that. They told his mom that his violent tendencies were due to some sort of traumatic experience, which of course led his mother to shed more waterworks as she blamed herself for ruining him.
And Nicolai told her that she didn’t do anything, he came to this world with a fucked up head. It had nothing to do with her.
That only made her cry more. But from then on, his mother decided that she was going to get better, take her sessions seriously and become the wall for her son.
Like how her son had been a wall for her when she was in one of those moods where she wanted to drown in her sorrow and never surface.
And just like that, the two of them have stood by one another’s side like a rock.
Usually, he would make use of s*x to get rid of this pent-up energy. But because Nico the Great was acting like a fucking prick—
Mom.
He needed her before he seriously blew up something. Or a certain preppy boy.

As he walked past the corridor, his gaze fell on a nurse who was pushing the medical cart with her head lowered.
Nicolai didn’t think much of it, as he did have this impact on many. He turned his gaze away and walked even faster, as he needed to get out of this place before he ruined everything.
As he walked away, he didn’t notice the nurse raise her head and heave a sigh of relief. She turned on her feet and then started pushing the cart even faster.
In three minutes she had arrived in front of Ari’s ward, the nurse looked around before pushing open the door.
She gave one hard push and the cart creaked as it wheeled inside the ward.
The sound of creaking wheels echoed in the silent ward before the nurse halted the cart right next to Ari’s bed.
Her golden eyes stared at Ari with hatred as she pulled her mask down.
“How are you doing, sister?” Ariel asked in a sickly sweet voice. “I heard that you were shot this morning. It would have been grand if you had died because of the gunshot or blood loss. Because that would have been much more merciful than what is going to happen to you now.”
Ari didn’t respond as she was unconscious due to the medical drugs.
Ariel sneered as she took out a handkerchief and pressed it against Ari’s nose. She didn’t pull it away until three minutes were up, only then did Ariel loop her arms around Ari and drag her off the bed.
“Gosh you are so heavy,” she kicked Ari who dropped to the floor like a rag doll. “Why don’t you try dieting eh?” Ariel huffed with her hands on her hips.
She breathed heavily before crouching down. She pushed Ari inside the small space that was underneath the cart. One push, two pushes —at the three pushes, Ariel succeeded in pushing Ari inside the cart haphazardly and smiled satisfactorily.
“Don’t blame me too much, Ari, you ruined me, so I ruined you right back.”
