Chapter 379: No good unconscious (2)
Two hours passed in the mansion, Ari who was sitting earlier was now lying on the floor, on one side of her body. There was an indescribable pain that surged inside of her veins after Samuel was done whipping her. He had used the whip to first hit her on the injury that she had received.
Before moving onto her arms, legs, and back.
She could hear her muffled breathing and smell the scent of blood that had permeated the air.
“She is truly crazy,” one of the guards spoke while watching Ari lying limply on the floor. “She could have just asked for mercy and agreed to serve Mister Samuel, but instead she let him whip her until she bled. It seems like she would rather die than let Mister Samuel bed her.”
“Hush, don’t speak such words,” said the other guard, but Samuel still heard their words, and it ignited a flame of fury in his heart.
He had given Ari an opportunity to save herself from the pain more than once. All she needed to do was to beg him to let her serve him, stroke the ego that she had bruised ages ago, but the woman remained stubborn.
Even when he had whipped her until blood oozed from all over her body, she did not once beg for mercy. So she would rather die than let him touch her?
“We will see,” Samuel raised the whip in his hand and then whipped Ari again. She let out a muffled scream, but that was far from enough to soothe Samuel’s anger. “I will wait and see how long you can stay stubborn, you bitch. Don’t worry, we have a long time ahead of us as no one will come to find you.”
“I will whip you until the day you will beg for me to take you to bed. And I will make you understand why you shouldn’t have refused me when I asked you nicely.”
Ari didn’t even look at the man, but she heard his footsteps fading away from the room where she was locked.
Once the door closed behind Samuel, Ari let out a shuddering breath. She wanted to cry but held back her tears, as there was no point in shedding tears in this situation. Her mind was numb, and she continued to stare into nothingness. Unable to stay awake, Ari soon passed out because of the pain in her body.
Three more hours passed by, and Ari woke up when someone opened the door of the room.
It was a maid.
“Get up, we have to make you presentable,” she said in a stoic cold voice. “Master Samuel says that you are supposed to eat dinner with him.” She glanced at Ari as if she deemed her beneath that man who had tormented her like this.
He was worse than a beast, and yet!
Ari wanted to refuse, but no one was there to hear what she wanted. The maid pulled her up by her injured arms. The skin which had been ripped open stung and bled, causing a searing pain which made Ari’s mind go blank as black spots started to dance in front of her eyes.
Ari closed her eyes when she felt them prickle with something warm and watery. She was not going to cry, she wasn’t going to let these people see that they had brought her to the brink of her edge. She wouldn’t give them the satisfaction of doing so.
Ignoring the pain in her body, Ari tried to swallow the tears that were threatening to spill.
“N—Nicolai.”
Away from the mansion, Nicolai was listening to the police officers while trying to make his presence as inconspicuous as possible. Fortunately, no one knew how he looked — or else he would be fending off a bunch of sticky warts.
“You see these marks?” One of the policemen said as he pointed to the traces left on the floor. They had sprayed a kind of liquid on the floor, which had cleared up the marks left on the floor as well as the bed.
“These are the marks left behind by the wheel of a cart which means the person behind this kidnapping might be someone from the hospital, or they could be pretending to be one.”
“A cart?” Noah glanced at the marks on the wheel with a frown on his face.
Nicolai, on the other hand, stiffened. He turned to look at the officers before asking, “How—big is this cart supposed to be?”
“A normal cart should be enough,” replied the officer with a slightly annoyed expression, as if Nicolai’s tattoos were singing a soprano that cursed his mother. “It’s big enough for a person to be stuffed inside and from the traces it can be seen that the kidnapper was not at all gentle with the patient.”
As soon as the police officer finished speaking, something clicked inside of Nicolai’s head. “Back then…” When he was leaving the hospital, a nurse with a cart walked past him.
Was it her?
Fuck.
He wheeled on his feet before hurtling out of the ward.
“Mister! Mister, you need to tell us if you know something!” The officers were shouting after Nicolai, but he was not listening. If it was the same woman, then it didn’t matter that the kidnappers messed up with the surveillance camera of the ward.

He would find her.
‘Ari, wait for me.’

In the mansion, Ari sat on the chair next to Samuel, who was eating a fine steak. She was served the same thing, but she dared not eat it in case it was drugged. The last thing she wanted was to lose her consciousness, which was the last thing that she had.
“Not hungry? Or do you think that eating a meal with me is too humiliating for a pristine princess like you?” Samuel popped the last big, juicy chunk of steak in his mouth and wiped his lips with a handkerchief.
“Humiliation is the last thing on my mind, Samuel,” said Ari as she breathed heavily. The pain on her back was getting worse as she was dressed in a full collar dress and the fabric kept rubbing at the skin which had been ripped by the whip. “I am more worried about being knocked unconscious.”
“You are no good to me if you are unconscious,” grinned Samuel lecherously. “I want you to scream my name when I take you. I will accept you delirious but not unconscious.”
