Chapter 380: Bold and foolish
‘I always knew that this man was sick in the head,’ Ari thought while clenching her fists in her lap. She had to get out of this place, but how? Samuel had stationed guards at every corner and corridor of this mansion. Even if she wanted to get out of this place, it was nearly impossible.
When she was lost in thought, Ari heard the sound of footsteps and then glanced at the maid who was bringing two bowls of mango ice cream which was going to be served as a dessert.
Her eyes flickered and a bold —yet dangerous idea came to her head. Ari hoped that it would work because if she failed to pull it off, she would end up losing her life. Even though it was crazy, she wanted to try to escape from this place and not wait for Samuel to force his way with her.
The maid came to a stop in front of the table before placing the two bowls of ice cream on the dining table in front of Ari and Samuel.
Samuel picked up the small spoon which was used to eat ice cream and took a bite of the mango delight that was served to them.
He relished the taste of the ice cream before saying, “Might as well eat it, you will need all the energy in just a few hours.” He chuckled nastily.
Ari didn’t know whether this man was talking about whipping her or something else, but she was not going to stay here and find out.
This was now or never, presently that she only had this one option in front of her, she was going to take it.
Without giving anything away, she picked up the ice cream bowl and started to eat it quickly. She wanted to get as much of this stuff in her body for her allergy to flare up.
When she finally felt the itch spread all over her skin, Ari heaved a sigh of relief. Calming her mind, she pretended as if she had no idea what was going on with her. If Samuel cottoned onto her plan, then all her efforts would be in vain.
Seeing her finish the ice cream, Samuel commented, “Such a waste of that beautiful face and body. If you had simply listened to me obediently earlier, nothing like this would have happened to you. We could have had some fun, instead of you suffering in agony like this.”
But Ari didn’t pay him any heed, she waited and waited, and then it happened— her skin turned red, and her breathing turned shallow. Ari’s eyes rolled back in the sockets and her vision turned blurry.
She didn’t know what was going on, but three seconds later she felt her body tip to one side, and she fell off the chair.
“Hey! What the hell?” Samuel had not expected such a thing to happen.
He stood up and rushed to Ari’s side who was already convulsing. “What’s going on? Someone go get me a glass of water.”
One of the maids rushed inside the kitchen and brought a glass of water but Ari was convulsing so hard that even a drop of water couldn’t be poured inside her mouth.
“What the hell is this?” Samuel cursed as he watched the woman’s condition get worse with each second. Was there something wrong with her? If so, don’t tell him that Ariel sent a sick bitch for him to play with.
If that was the case, then he was going to leave Ariel alone.
“It’s an allergic reaction,” while Samuel was lost in his thoughts, he heard someone say from behind. He turned and glanced at the maid who lowered her head.
“Allergic reaction?” His eyes flickered as he changed his question, “Is it deadly?” Samuel questioned if it wasn’t serious then he was going to chuck this woman in her room and wait for her to get better.
“I—It can if it’s not treated in time,” the maid answered and Samuel swore so loudly that he scared the servants.
“That fucking bitch why did she not tell me something so important? Is she waiting for me to screw up? Couldn’t she have told me that this woman was allergic to mangoes?” Samuel snarled harshly as he signalled one of the guards. “Bring her to the hospital, remember to choose the one that asks no questions and is not far from here. We need to get her back on her feet, I didn’t go through so much song and dance for her to die.”
He couldn’t believe that despite being so close to getting what he wanted —it was about to fly out of his hand again.
The guard nodded as he picked Ari up in his arms and rushed out of the mansion, Samuel following closely. They brought Ari to a hospital which wasn’t far from the mansion where Samuel had locked her up.
The hospital was small with only two floors, on reaching the reception, Samuel asked for a doctor,
“Bring someone to save this woman,” he said to the nurse.
The nurse raised her head and looked up upon hearing Samuel’s words. She was about to ask him to wait but when she saw the two towering hoodlums behind Samuel, she didn’t say anything and nodded.
“Please wait for two minutes,” she said to him before hurrying inside the hospital and returning with a doctor who immediately brought Ari to an examination room, where he started treating Ari.
An hour later, the doctor stepped out of the examination room and walked over to the bodyguard, he didn’t see Samuel, but he dared not to ask for him. A man who brought two big ruffians like them could never be good.
“The patient is out of danger,” the doctor told the two bodyguards. “However, it will take an hour for her to wake up, and she will have to stay the night under observation lest her condition lapses.”

“Is it necessary?” The bodyguard questioned. They were ordered to bring this woman back as soon as she was done with her treatment. How could they let her stay overnight?
