Chapter 381: Weird Schemes
The doctor was already sweating buckets. Upon hearing the question from the man who was taller than him by more than three feet, the poor doctor started to tremble as he nodded.
He took out his handkerchief and then wiped his forehead before saying with a nod, “Well, I will advise you to let her stay. In case her allergies flare up again, it can become seriously dangerous.”
“Her consumption of mangoes was not light, and even though we have pumped her stomach, no one can be sure of what might happen to a patient if they don’t follow the proper procedure after treatment.”
“This is a guarantee that even a doctor will not dare to take.”
The two bodyguards glanced at one another before the one on the right turned around on his feet and walked away. He needed to relay this bit of information to Samuel and ask for his permission.
If not, then they would have no choice but to drag that woman back.
On the other side after half an hour, Ari who was supposed to be unconscious opened her eyes. Fortunately for her, the doctor didn’t use a strong anaesthetic or else she would have been knocked out until the morning.
She looked around and saw that no one was guarding her ward, most probably they thought that she wouldn’t wake up for another hour or so. Finding the right opportunity presented to her, Ari escaped from the room and tried to find a way outside the hospital where she was locked up.
As she walked past the corridor, she noticed the two ruffians who brought her here and Ari immediately ducked into the storeroom. She had to be careful or else, she would find herself locked up again. Ari didn’t know whether anyone would come to save her or not.
Maybe Nicolai was not even aware of her disappearance? And Noah wouldn’t care either.
While Ari was trying to sneak out of the hospital from right under the nose of the two ruffians left behind by Samuel, not far from the small hospital, Nicolai was standing behind Zena who sat on a plush chair while tapping her fingers on the keyboard.
“Did you find anything?” He asked while staring at the screen. For some reason, Nicolai had a feeling that Zena was going much slower than usual.
Usually, she could teach things down much more quickly but today for some reason, it had been more than three hours and she hadn’t found anything.
Zena paused in her actions and glanced at Nicolai before saying, “I am trying my best, Nico. But there are a bunch of traps left behind by the individuals behind this kidnapping. I have to dodge every single one of them or else it will delete the entire surveillance recording.”
In fact, what she didn’t know was that she was battling with her urge to delay this search as long as possible. Maybe if that woman were to disappear, Nicolai would go back to how he was.
A part of her wanted to save Ari as she knew that her actions were wrong, but at the same time, she was worried about Nicolai’s condition. What if Ari continued to provoke him?
With her mind lost in her thoughts, she couldn’t pay attention to what she was doing.
Nicolai frowned at his baby sister, he loved her to bits but for the first time in his life, he felt annoyed with her. He opened his mouth to speak when —
“Can I come inside?” A man whom he had never seen stood at the doorway of the office that belonged to Aiden.
“Who are you?” Nicolai asked gruffly.
His tone was annoyed and upset with the sudden disruption.
“Regal —I am here to help you find Doctor Harlow,” answered the man, and Nicolai snapped his head up, his gaze now fully fixated on the man.
Prim and proper, check.
Hair neatly styled, check.
Soft-spoken and seemed like a gentleman, check.
The more Nicolai looked at Regal, the more he found him annoying. The man seemed to be created from the same mould as Noah, just a tad bit cheaper.
“And who asked for your help?” Nicolai asked rudely.
“I did,” Aiden walked inside the office and chided Nicolai, “Don’t be rude to him, Nico. Regal told me that he scored the highest grade in the computer department of the number one university in our city.”
“And he is also skilled in dodging traps and hacking into systems,” Aiden turned and glanced at Zena before saying with a smile, “It seems like Zen is having trouble dealing with this newly developed virus, so let him take a look.”
Though Aiden didn’t say anything, Zena had a feeling that he could see right through her.

Her heart clenched as she tightly gripped her fingers into fists.
He knows. She didn’t even have to question Aiden to know that he knew exactly what she was trying to do.
“We don’t need—”
“Nico,” Aiden spoke with a sigh. He raised the report in his hands and questioned, “Do you know what this is?” He asked Nico as he handed the report to his cousin.
Before Nicolai could answer, Aiden did it for him. “It is a blood test report and do you know, in the blood test earlier this afternoon, it was found that Doctor Harlow doesn’t have A positive blood group but O positive.”
“As a doctor, do you think Ari will make the mistake of noting down her wrong blood group?”
“That’s impossible,” Nicolai answered as he skimmed through the reports. His Pallas was so smart, how could she do something so foolish as that?
“Exactly, it’s impossible for Ariana to make such a mistake. Which means that someone has been lying to her about her blood group all along.”
Nicolai raised his head slowly and looked at Aiden, who voiced his thoughts perfectly, “There is something very weird going on, Nico. I will ask you not to let your foolish ego come in between, or it will be too late.”
