Since the opportunity had presented itself, Nicolai was not going to refuse it.

He pivoted on his feet and, seemingly uncaring of whatever Keon had to say to him, Nicolai rushed past him caught Noah by his collar and pushed him back.

“You cannot do that!” Nicolai heard Brandon shriek behind him. However, at that moment, he wasn’t concerned with what he could do and could not.

He needed out—this bloody haze, the one that made him see the world as red instead of black and white was not going to stop, not until he sent this man to meet his maker.

“Mister de Luca, please let him go,” Brandon spoke once again and just like before Nicolai ignored him. He stared hard and down at Noah before hissing in a seething rage, “Aren’t you ashamed of showing yourself? How dare you come here!?”

Noah dug his shoes on the floor, putting a stop to whatever Nicolai was trying to do by pushing him back.

With his heels planted firmly on the floor, he glared right back at Nicolai before saying, “And what is that supposed to mean? If you are here, then why can’t I?”

Nicolai’s lips curled up in a nasty sneer as he raised his hand and then curled his fist before bringing it heavily down on Noah.

“Because you fucking don’t deserve it, Nelson!” Nicolai roared, ignoring the looks of outrage and reproach from the nurses and patients. They could fuck themselves for the love of all the fucks he could give them.

Nicolai marched forward before grabbing hold of Noah’s collar once again, the man swung his fist at him in retaliation, but Nicolai was faster. He heaved Noah up by his collar and threw him over his shoulders.

BANG!

“Good sirs, please calm down, this is a hospital!” One of the nurses came rushing. He was trembling but somehow managed to speak the words that he might have as well not spoken because neither Nicolai nor Noah were in the mood to hear a thing that he said to them.

“Get off me, you dumb barbarian,” Noah snarled as he caught Nicolai’s collar and punched him right back in the face, the second Nicolai climbed on top of him.

He didn’t care that Nicolai and he were rolling on the floor of the hospital with a bunch of people looking at them.

Currently, he just wished to hurt Nicolai as much as he had hurt him. For getting closer to Ari, for taking what belonged to him. If it wasn’t for him, he would have won Ari’s heart back.

She would have forgiven him because he would have made up for every wrong that he had committed — but because of Nicolai, he couldn’t.

Because no matter how much he tried to make it up to Ari, he couldn’t ever match up to Nicolai, who had done nothing wrong. Who had never made her cry or broke her heart?

How was he supposed to compete with him?

“I would rather be dumb than a fucking coward!” Nicolai spat a mouthful of blood on the floor before raising his hand and smashing his fist into Noah’s face, there was an ugly crunch and Noah’s regal nose turned crooked.

“How dare you —” Noah paused, no one knew what exactly he was angry about. Whether it was his nose or the fact that he was pushed to the dirty floor, two seconds later, everyone in the now silent corridor heard him say, “Call me a coward?”

As if the very fact were ludicrous.

“Because you dumb fuck—” Nicolai was still speaking when Noah rolled on his back before turning Nicolai over.

It was surprising to see Noah with his lean body turn Nicolai over.

However, with his rage fueling him, Noah’s strength seemed to have reached greater heights.

He raised his hand and punched Nicolai, who turned his head to one side, causing Noah’s punch to skim past his right cheek.

Nicolai then raised his foot and kicked Noah in the stomach.

“Umph!” Noah let out a muffled cry before turning and falling on his side, he clutched his abdomen with his arms wrapped around his torso.

“Nico, what are you doing?” A sharp voice asked from behind, and Nicolai turned to look at his sister, whose expression was that of shock and horror. “You—you are fighting in the hospital? And who are you beating…” there was a gasp followed by, “You really fought with the Nelson Corps CEO?.”

“Have you lost your mind?” She asked before striding over and pulling him away from Noah. “Do you want our family to be in trouble again?”

“What kind of trouble can this man cause when he can’t even deal with a woman?” Nicolai licked his front teeth which were bleeding slightly and swallowed the blood.

“Are you okay, Noah?” Brandon helped Noah up from the floor, right now he couldn’t help him as Brandon couldn’t pull Nicolai off Noah even when he gave it his all.

Noah, however, did not care about his question, instead, he fixed his glare on Nicolai before saying, “And what is that supposed to mean?”

“Do you still think this happened because of me? That one of my enemies targeted Ari?” Nicolai jeered at the man who was sitting on the floor while glaring at him. “No, you dumb fuck. It happened because you didn’t squish the bug that should have been dealt with ages ago.”

At first, Noah didn’t understand, but slowly he did. His eyes widened as he instinctively refuted, “No…that’s impossible.” Ariel wouldn’t do this —no matter how angry she was because of what happened, she wouldn’t want to take Ari’s life.

She was her sister. What kind of sister would want to take the life of her sister?

“Why don’t you ask her?” As if reading his mind, Nicolai remarked. “Why don’t you question that bitch why she did it? Maybe then you will be able to see what kind of woman she truly was, the one whom you have been treating as the apple of your eyes all these years.”

He tugged on his black leather jacket before saying, “And if you can’t, don’t worry, I will. Very soon. You might be kind enough to let her off, I am not infected with the fleas she carries.”
