Chapter 416: Rocking delights
Nicolai’s words rumbled against her skin and Ari tried to make as much sense as she could of those words when Nicolai was pressing down on her.
However, try as she might—she couldn’t understand what he was trying to say to her. She blinked her eyes and questioned, “Who?”
“The man with whom you were having a really intellectual discussion in the arena. The one who was all over you, with that preppy hairstyle and clothes without a single crease.”
“The perfect definition of gentleman.”
Ari had to think twice before she could pinpoint whom Nicolai was talking about. She frowned and guessed, “Are you talking about Ja—Jace?”
“Jace…Jace..oh Jace,” Nicolai nipped at her jaw causing her to wince. “I will let his name to one of my hit men first thing in the morning. How dare he try to get close to what’s mine.”
“What—what are you talking about?” The pleasure riding in her head slowly started to fade as she looked up at the man. She tried to squirm out of his hold but the man only pushed her down, his fingers knotting at the back of her head, keeping her in place. “Nicolai, what are you doing—”
“I can’t fucking believe that you went to look for someone else so soon. What’s wrong? Realised that I was too shitty for a rebound —and you needed someone else? Someone more like that preppy ex-husband, Noah of yours?” Nicolai snarled Noah’s name as if it was a curse word. Taboo to be uttered in his presence.
He lowered his head and bit the crook of her neck—Ari groaned as he did so. “Don’t worry though. No matter how hard you try to look for a perfect match—I will take care of them. If I have to.”
“I will keep at it until you realise that you are stuck with the imperfect me. Because that’s what you deserve and suits you the best.”
Ari started whimpering with her eyes closed when she felt him suck and nibble on her pulse point. She could feel a sharp gushing sensation in her core as she tried to put a comprehensible sentence together.
But boy did her body love the way he took charge as he crumbled the control that she loved and wanted.
“You—Jace is not—he is not what—ah—you think. He is Dan—Danny’s boyfriend. He has no interest in women. You met Dan, right? The night when you came to pick me.”
His face lifted from the valley of her bosom with his eyes flickering left and right with a gleam, he frowned. He was most likely trying his best to remember who this Danny was, about whom she was talking about.
The harsh lines on his face faded a little as he remembered Danny. His voice softened as well, “So those two—they are not ..they have no interest in you?”
“Of course not…I might be pretty in the eyes of some. But I am not pretty enough to make someone interested in women if they like men.”
“I wouldn’t bank on it,” growled Nicolai as he looked at the woman underneath her. With her light pink hair which simmered under the purple lightning of his living room, blue eyes and full lips —she looked like an enchanting siren.
Even though she was dressed as a punk. But that was the mark of her beauty —as even when she was dressed in chains and nails, she looked soft and vulnerable.
If there was a walking damnation on the surface of this world, it should be named Ariana Harlow.
Ari glanced at the man who seemed to be filled with wild rage and possessiveness.
She knew that she should be running away from him but —she was way past that point.
With a deep inhale, she filled her lungs with his scent. Bergamot, with a splash of blood and solid six feet of masculinity. The blood on his face should have repulsed her, it should have sent her running but she stayed where she was.
Because for some reason —underneath all that anger, she felt a tremor of blame and sadness.
No one had cared for her like this, they hadn’t cared about what she was doing or with whom she was going out. Never had anyone been obsessed with her like how Nicolai was obsessed with her very existence.
The way he was acting at the very thought of losing her to someone else, he would lift the weight of the sky for her.
Ari knew that this was toxic… it was even more dangerous than the overdose of anaesthesia.
And yet she craved him. Why? She didn’t even know it herself.
All she knew was that the desperation she was suddenly feeling towards this man was too much for her to bear. It was so freaking hard that it was hurting her.
“You thought that I was with another man? I am many things but I am not a cheater.” She glared at him and lifted her head until her lips were skimming over his. “I can’t believe that you ever thought that I would do such a thing.”
“I ju…”

Nicolai couldn’t finish what he was saying as Ari took his lips in a punishing kiss. She thrust her tongue inside of his mouth and tasted the simmering heat and calming anger. Along with the lust that moved in swirling tension.
She kissed him and she kissed him hard as she raised her arms and threw over his neck. He retaliated by knotting his fingers in her hair such that he was kissing her just as hungrily.
The constant stabs of fear that she had been suffering from the second Nicolai stopped looking for her, vanished. Her insides which had been covered in a thin layer of ice also warmed up and the aching throb in her heart swiftly disappeared.
She could finally breathe —she was finally alive. The first time she had felt hollowed inside and out, was when Nicolai had suddenly disappeared and it had scared the shit out of her.
But now that he was here —she couldn’t care less about anything else. Other than him and the pleasure that he was giving her.
