Chapter 452: Murder
Mrs Harlow snickered and said, “Wow, look at you. I cannot believe that a woman like you who never even dared to raise her gaze in front of me is now threatening me.”
Ariana clutched the wooden statue in her hand, with a sharp and pointed edge of the scales that she held in her hands.
She tried to shuffle towards the door but as soon as she took a step, Mrs Harlow took out the dagger that was in the pockets of her dress.
“Go ahead and try to escape,” Mrs Harlow smiled at Ari with cunningness and with a hint of cruelty. “Sharp isn’t it?” She asked while showing the blade of the dagger in her hand to Ari. “I never wanted to kill you by shooting you, Ari.”
She smirked as Ari turned pale. “You deserve much worse than that, because of you — Ariel lost her freedom. How can you die in a matter of a few seconds? You deserve a slow and painful death for what you have done.”
“And what about you?” Ari stepped back just as Mrs Harlow took a step towards her. “You snatched and stole a child that did not belong to you and brainwashed her. What about my freedom? Who gave you the right to steal my freedom? You had no—AHHH!”
Ari gritted her teeth in pain. Mrs Harlow had jumped on her, without a single care about her own safety. The tip of the dagger was now embedded deep in her shoulder.
The pain made black spots pop in front of her eyes causing Ari to stumble against the wall.
Her shoulder felt as if it was being skinned. Mrs Harlow snickered and laughed in excitement, “This is great! Hahaha! This is great— who asked you to go against me? How dare you question me— YOU BITCH!” She exclaimed angrily when Ari smashed the base of the statue on the side of her head.
Using all of her strength, Ari pushed the woman off her. She could hear Mrs Harlow groan as she fell on the floor but Ari didn’t care about her. All she cared about was getting out of this room. She couldn’t stay here.
But Mrs Harlow hated Ari to the point where she didn’t even care about her own life. She knew that if Roman was to find out that she had attacked Ari and killed her— he would give her the most cruel death possible.
And yet Mrs Harlow threw caution to the wind because she despised — no loathed, Ari. How dare this woman… how dare she live a normal life when her daughter was gone and suffering?
She got up on his feet and charged at Ari who was getting close to the door. She caught Ari’s legs and pulled her back.
“AH!” Ari screamed as she lost her footing and fell on the floor. Her chin hit the floor harshly and she tasted a metallic liquid in her mouth. However, Ari had no time to care about this minor injury. She turned on her back and kicked the woman who was climbing on her body.
She wanted to get the woman off her body but Mrs Harlow was like a possessed and mad woman. She didn’t let go of Ariana even though she kicked her everywhere.
“Don’t blame me, Ari,” Mrs Harlow snarled as she straddled Ari’s leg. While clutching the dagger in her hands, she raised them over her head. “I didn’t want this to happen either but you just had to make things difficult for me.”
“If only you had stayed quiet and opened your legs for Master alone, then nothing like this would have happened.”
She brought the dagger down which was aimed at Ari’s forehead.
The next moment, Ari raised her hand that was still clutching the statue. She took advantage of Mrs Harlow’s wild frenzy and stabbed the woman in the chest. Her eyes were filled with a searing rage as Ari pushed the statue even deeper inside Mrs Harlow’s bosom until it pressed against her heart.
And when it did, Ari didn’t stop. Instead, she pushed the sharp edge of the scales of the statue further inside Mrs Harlow’s bosom.
The woman let go of the dagger and flailed her hands to remove the statue from her heart. Her face started to turn pale with every passing second.
However, with the blood gushing out of her bosom she had no strength to pull the statue out of her heart.
“M—Monster…” Mrs Harlow muttered as she looked at Ariana who had stabbed her in the heart. “M—murderer….”
Her body swayed before falling on top of Ari, as her front hit Ari’s body, the statue dug deeper in her bosom causing more blood to flood out of her chest. The woman’s lips parted due to pain as she murmured, “H—hap—py…nev…never… yo—you will… never be h—happy.”
Those last words took the life out of Mrs Harlow’s body as the light in her eyes dimmed and her body stopped moving.
Ari, whose body was crushed by Mrs Harlow’s body, pushed off the woman and scrambled away. She placed her hand on her shoulder where the dagger had stabbed and was bleeding due to the impact. Her breath came out rugged and unevenly as she panted.
Her eyes were fixated on Mrs Harlow’s lifeless body.
Before she dropped her gaze on her hand which was covered in blood.
She killed her.
She killed the woman whom she had treated as her mother.

Ari slid against the wall of the room and she slumped on the floor. Her eyes were filled with terror as the full impact of what she had done came crashing down. As seconds passed by she realised that — maybe she was exactly what Mrs Harlow accused her of.
A monster.
If she wasn’t one then how could she —how could she kill someone?
Her heartbeat turned frantic as she panted heavily.
“I killed her… I killed her…” Ari whispered to herself. She raised her hands covered her face and started sobbing.
