Ari looked at her teen self, who was tied to the chair, with a frown on her face. She raised her head and looked at the sight that little Ari was seeing and was stunned when she saw what was happening in front of her.
In front of her was a bed, and on that bed was the masked man whom her mother called Master Roman. But he was not alone. Together with him was a woman who was riding him; while the woman’s face was turned away from Ari, the man was looking at her.
He seemed to be smiling while looking at the pale and sick expression on little Ari’s face. And she heard him say, “Are you jealous, darling?”
“Don’t worry, learn these lessons well. Because one day you will have to serve me just like this,” the man said to her teen self, who was no older than fifteen years old.
A surge of nausea rolled in her throat as Ari stumbled back; the sight and the setting disgusted her so much that she could feel dirty at the mere thought of seeing such a thing. If it was in her control, she would have gouged her eyes, for they had seen a sight as disgusting as this one.
And she couldn’t blame her teenself as she looked at the man and muttered, “No..no..no.” The chants of no that left her lips turned more and more loud with each passing second, and soon her fifteen-year-old self was yelling and screaming, “NO! LET ME OUT! LET ME GO! I DO NOT WANT TO BE HERE! NOOOO!”
“Doctor Harlow!”
A voice wrenched her out of the memory, and Ari gasped as if she had been pulled out from the bottom of the pool. She heaved and panted while looking at Doctor Stoll.
“You, Doctor Harlow, are you alright? Can you hear me?” Doctor Stoll asked but Ari couldn’t hear anything. She could only hear the disgusting moans and words of the man who had trapped her and tried to teach her things that had left a scar on her mind and heart.
No wonder her memories were wiped clean.
“Doctor Harlow?”
“I—my head is ringing; please leave me be… Doctor Soll,” Ari spoke while panting; sweat covered her forehead and face as she breathed through her mouth. “D–don’t worry about me. I am fine —Can you, just leave me alone for a second?”
“Doctor Harlow, you are having trouble in breathing—”
He hadn’t even finished speaking when Ari pushed past him and rushed to the closest washroom, where she hurled everything that was in her stomach.
Why did that man do such a thing to her? No, he was no man. Only a monster would do such a cruel thing to a girl who was not even grown up yet.
Doctor Stoll, who had heard everything that happened in Ari’s past, also felt sick. He had to admit that only someone who was sick to the point of being called a psychopath would do such a thing.
And the one who was even more sick was Ari’s mother. How could she leave her child in the presence of a man who was evil to his core?
While Doctor Stoll was helping Ari, someone was driving her way to the apartment building where Ari lived. Penelope patted the foundation on her face to make her look even more sickly. She admired her reflection in the mirror before stepping out of the car that was parked a bit further away from the apartment building where Ariana lived.
She carefully made her way to the apartment, and when she caught sight of a woman who seemed to be gossiping with her friends, Penelope walked over to her.
“Excuse me, can you tell me where Ariana Harlow lives?” Penelope asked with a pitiful expression.
“She lives on the fourth floor, apartment 409. But she is not at home at the moment,” replied Arabella. Noticing that the woman seemed a bit sick, she said to her, “Is there something that you need her for? I can pass the message to her when she returns.”
The woman stared at Arabella, wondering if she was fit for the job that she had in her mind. She had already dealt with the matter at the cremation hall but Penelope was in a hurry to get rid of Ariana as soon as possible. She heard from one of the servants that her parents had arrived at the Lonest City.
If the two of them ran into Ariana when she was accompanying Nicolai, it would certainly be problematic for her.
Earlier, she had planned to send Ari to prison. But that would take some time and she had none of it. So she could only think of a way to make it impossible for Ari to live in the city for the time being.
Penelope pursed her lips and said to Arabella, “There is something that I wish to say to her.”
Hearing that the woman was looking for Ariana, Arabella’s curiosity was already piqued, when she heard the hesitation in the voice of the woman, she became even more curious. She asked,
“Can you tell me what’s the matter? You do not look well.”
“How am I supposed to look well?” Penelope sniffed as she shook her head. “That woman has snatched my fiancé away from me; he was supposed to marry me, but now he is bewitched by that woman, I don’t want to say anymore. I just wanted to beg her to let go of my soon-to-be husband. For if this continues, my life will be ruined.”
As she spoke, she started to sob.

Arabella was taken aback and so were the rest of the women, as they had not expected that the things Arabella spoke to them turned out to be true! Arabella, on the other hand, was delighted. She knew that something was going on, and she was filled with thrill upon hearing that her suspicions were correct.
