Mister Garner was shocked upon seeing the situation in front of him. He stormed over to his wife and pulled her away from the rest. He furiously said to her, “What do you think you are doing? Who gave you the right to make trouble like this? Do you even know how embarrassing this is and —”

Just as he was about to tell Arabella about Nicolai’s identity, the woman raised her hands and smacked Mister Garner’s hand off her arm.

She sneered at him, “There is no need for you to act all wise and innocent. I know your heart is hurting for that bitch. Gotten sweet on her, haven’t you? Don’t think that I don’t know that you have been trying to get into her bed.”

“You are speaking nonsense! Why would I do such a thing? I am not crazy. Do you even know the man with whom she is entangled?” Mister Garner said to his wife.

“I do know,” Arabella hissed at her husband. “He is a fucking cheater who broke the heart of his elegant and wise fiancee for this whore who opens her legs for just about anyone.”

Her husband was stunned upon seeing how unreasonable she was proving to be. He looked at Ari, whose face was covered in sweat and said to Arabella, “I am telling you to stop this mess, right now! Can you not see that the woman is not feeling well? If something happens to her, who will be responsible for it? Such actions have serious repercussions!”

Mister Garner said those things because he was truly worried that something might happen to Ari.

However, in Arabella’s eyes, his worries turned into concern for Ariana, who had no relationship with Mister Garner.

She raised her hand and slapped him on the face before roaring hysterically, “Tell me the truth! You have slept with this bitch, right? Is that why you are trying to save her, right? I knew it! I knew something was wrong when you kept praising her so much.”

“You are crazy!” Mister Garner was speechless. He never thought that his wife would slap him. “When did I sleep with anyone but you!? I am honestly looking out for you and the people in this apartment. If something happens to her, you all will be sent into prison.”

But Arabella was too stubborn to believe a thing that came out of her husband’s mouth. She was certain that there was something wrong with her husband and Ariana.

She turned around on her feet and marched over to Ariana.

Arabella slapped Ariana three times, but even then her anger did not simmer down; thus, she ignored Aiden, who was trying to keep Ari behind him, and reached forward to grab hold of Ariana’s hair and started pulling it viciously.

With Arabella pulling and pushing, the crowd started to move as well, and the two officers were pushed back.

Seeing that no one was willing to listen to them, they looked at one another helplessly.

Should they call backup? The two of them thought worriedly, as they could see that this mob would not come under control by them alone.

Ariana, who was being treated like a sinner, closed her eyes as she tried to raise her hands. However, her body seemed to be unwilling. Neither her heart nor her body listened to her.

Her pride. The only thing that she had been clinging onto was shattered to pieces today.

And the pain of being unable to breathe left her numb to everything else.

She had thought that she was clean and innocent, and yet her memories said otherwise. She had to forget those memories to believe that everything was fine and that she was normal just like everyone else.

That was the only way she could live…

Because it was easy. And yet she had foolishly unveiled the past that she could not even withstand.

And yet she knew that it would have been nothing but cowardice to keep avoiding it as it would be too easy to say that she was fine.

To pretend that she was alright.

The questions to which she wanted answers had more or less revealed themselves.

And she had paid for it in more than one way.

By giving up on her pride and innocence.

While the remains of her broken pride were stomped on by this crowd.

Ari felt her body flinch, her eyes widened, and her complexion turned even more pale.

She felt someone push her on the ground and rip the pants that she was wearing in places while someone kicked her in the chest, causing her heart to falter even more.

Ari parted her lips to speak, but someone in the crowd pulled her hair again, causing another head splitting pain to spread all over her body. And

Ari’s eyes rolled back in their sockets as she slumped on the ground. Her chest was not moving!

However, sympathy was the last thing the crowd had in their hearts. Especially Arabella, who believed that her husband was stolen by Ariana. She kicked Ariana in the stomach before sneering down at her, “Eh? Are you pretending to die now? You shameless bitch! How dare you try to fool us!”

As she spoke, she kicked Ari as hard as she could, wishing that her heel would stab her to death.

Everyone turned to look at Ariana, who was no longer breathing even though a minute had passed and wasn’t showing any signs of waking up.
