Chapter 493: Bringing her back
“Please let go of us!” one of the women in the crowd could no longer stop herself from beseeching the man who had gone crazy. “We truly did not know that she was related to you. If we had then–we would have never touched her. It’s Arabella who lied to us.”

Nicolai threw the woman, who was just a breath away from dying. Death was too simple. He wanted these people to lose everything that they held dear. A smile crept on Nicolai’s lips as he turned to the woman. “You had no idea, and yet you seemed to have caused trouble for Miss Harlow as if you knew better than anyone.”

“Please..please –we did not touch her! We never even bothered her in the first place, it’s them who hurt her,” one of the men pleaded. He was close to kneeling while eyeing Nicolai warily.

“You will never show up in front of her,” Nicolai said in a silky smooth voice. “If I see you hovering in front of her, I will gouge your eyes out and throw you in the middle of a busy street, do you understand?”

The people in the crowd quickly nodded. As long as this man agrees to leave, they will even hand their houses and savings to him. They just wanted him to leave.

“W–We promise,” said one of the women shakily. She was truly terrified after witnessing the sight in front of her. “We will never appear in front of her again.” She was scared that if they were a second late, this man might start shooting them again. He seemed to have enough money to even buy the law itself, compared with him —they had nothing.

“I do not believe you,” Nicolai narrowed his eyes. “Especially your wife.”

His words caused panic to surge in the hearts of every single person standing in the parking lot.

And Mister Garner, who was pointed out by Nicolai, jumped three feet in the air as he stepped away from Arabella.

“I will divorce her,” Mister Garner promised. “A woman like her is nothing but trouble. So do not worry, Mister de Luca. I will divorce her as soon as possible, she will never appear or talk to Miss Ariana.”

Nicolai did not care about his promise, now that Mateo had taken Ariana away, he was certain that she was never going to return here.

With how protective the Ashford brothers’ were, they would never let Ariana leave their sight from now on. The only thing that he wanted was to make sure that Arabella received her comeuppance.

“Very well,” Nicolai walked over to the man and came to a stop in front of him. Mister Garner started to shake like a leaf when he saw Nicolai looking down at him as if he would rip his head off if he were to provoke him any further.

Nicolai smirked at the man as he reached forward and grabbed the jaw of the man. He tightened his hold on Mister Garner’s jaw before saying, “You better not think of beguiling me. If I don’t see her divorced and on the street, you will see yourself in your grave. Am I clear?”

Mister Garner nodded hurriedly.

“Good,” Nicolai patted the man’s cheek twice. He then turned to look at the people behind him and said to them, “I don’t want this incident to get out, do you understand? If I see any of you discussing it, then…”

“We will not say a word!”

“That’s right.”

“That’s better,” Nicolai smiled at the people. “Then explain what happened here?”

“We–we fought among ourselves,” one of the women lied immediately. Though her heart ached at the loss that they had suffered, it was better to protect their lives rather than chase justice.

“Excellent,” Nicolai snapped his fingers at her. “That’s exactly what happened here, but if you somehow start to believe otherwise, I assure you — I have my ears on you all the time.”

With those chilling words, Nicolai took his leave.

At the Ashford penthouse, Mateo rushed inside.

“Matt what—” Keon began but his eyes fell on Ariana who was breathing feebly with Aiden following closely behind them and his expression changed.

He rushed down the stairs while Emil hopped over to where Mateo was while leaning on his stick.

“What’s going on?” Kaylyn and Theodore also stepped out of their rooms, while Penelope who had been sleeping was also aroused by the noise. She slid down her bed and walked outside to scold whoever was making a noise when she saw Mateo bringing Ariana with him.

What was this woman doing here? And why did Mateo bring her here?

A surge of panic rose in her heart, as Penelope wondered if her plan had fallen apart. Don’t tell her that before it could take full form, something happened? Did those idiots not do what she asked them to? Or did Mateo appear as Ariana’s saviour? It seemed like this lowly woman whom she took as nothing but a speck of dust in her eyes —was a bigger threat than she had imagined and now she had turned even more of a threat.

After all, her parents had seen Ariana now. The truth that she had been trying to hide could no longer be hidden.

However, she still pretended to be unaware as she climbed down the stairs and worriedly asked, “What’s wrong? Matt, what happened to Miss Harlow?”

Mateo raised his head and looked at Penelope. His eyes eyed her suspiciously before he answered, “Nothing a little accident.” He paused when he saw everyone surrounding Ariana and said to them, “Step away from her, she is having trouble breathing. Let Aiden take a look at her condition.”

Emil stepped away from Ariana at once while Keon called the doctors of their family.

Seeing Ariana’s pale face, Emil turned to look at Mateo and asked, “What happened? Why is our sister hurt like this? Who did this to her?”
