Chapter 56: Twisted opinions meets Twisted reality
“Watch where you are going——” Glynn stopped in the middle of her sentence as a sudden chill scraped at the back of her neck, followed by bone-shattering fear, just as Nicolai De Luca turned and looked at her.
He arched a brow at her in sick amusement as he questioned, “Were you talking to me?”
Glynn felt as if all her senses were now working in a hyperventilating manner. Her brain was simply unable to keep up with what was happening, and she felt it short-circuit somewhere. She took several steps away from Nicolai, feeling the beating of her heart reverberating in her chest.
“What’s wrong? Why are you stepping back? You did not answer my question,” Nicolai stated as he looked at the woman in front of him. His eyes were flickering with a sadistic glint which made Glynn shiver in fright.
Her brother had taught her ever since she was young that the De Lucas did not have any ounce of sympathy for their victims. Noah even went as far as to say that the blood that flowed inside the veins of Nicolai and his family was that of their victims and not their own, as they had no heart.
“Stay away from me, you monster,” Glynn said sharply as she summoned the courage stored somewhere in her heart. She glared at Nicolai and then said scornfully, “Don’t even try to pull any stunt against me or else I will have you locked up.”
Nicolai looked at her for a whole minute before he burst out laughing. He curled his arms around his waist, as he bent double.
“Do you hear that, Zena?” He turned to look at the woman behind him before wiping a tear that was sticking at the corner of his eye. “She says that she will have me locked up. Is that spelled as foolishness?”
Zena who stood behind her brother, sighed. She looked at the arrogant sister of Noah Nelson and inwardly clicked her tongue. Maybe in the La La Land where this little girl lived everything happened according to her wishes, but now that she had run into Nicolai, Zena was certain that Glynn was in for a rude awakening.
“Don’t be too hard on her, Nico,” said Zena with a worried expression. She did not want to have another trouble lined up on her plate with what they were doing already. “No matter what, she is the sister of Noah Nelson.”
Glynn puffed her chest at Zena’s remark. That was right, she was the sister of Noah Nelson, the richest man in the Lonest City. There was no way that Nicola could harm her.
However, before she could get even more proud, she heard Nicolai question, “And I am supposed to care about it?” He turned to look at Glynn whose complexion turned pale, he stepped closer to Glynn who backed into a corner.
“Back off!” She ordered Nicolai as if he were one of her servants who would listen to her, even though the two of them held the same position.
“Ah f*ck, I was about to let you off easily but looks like you are not in the mood for that, pompatic girl” Nicolai stated as he came to a stop in front of Glynn who stared right back at him.
Though he scared her, Glynn did not want to back down so easily. She was sure that if she was to lower her head in front of Nicolai, eventually he would relay this information to everyone in the high society.
“Now, let me teach you some manners that your sniffy brother couldn’t. Understandable, since he is too busy burying his face in the ass of that mistress of his… so now, Miss Nelson—- when you bump into someone, you are supposed to apologize.”
Glynn’s teeth clenched tightly. Never in her life, had she thought that one day someone would be this rude to her and her brother. She was terribly furious and for a second forgot her fear in front of the man who called her rude names. She raised her hand at Nicolai who arched a brow at her, he clapped his hands as he remarked, “What are you going to do with that? Slap me? How wonderful, to let me see the strength of that dog’s sister. Let’s see if your bite is worse than your bark, Pompatic princess.”
The man’s boldness made Glynn furious. Her eyes went wide with ill anger as she glared at the man. She brought her hand down heavily on the face of the man, wanting to hurt him as badly as possible. But she forgot that the one who stood in front of her was not Ari or the servants of the Nelson family, who would silently withstand her temper.
Nicolai caught her wrist right before she could slap him. He then used his strength and twisted Glynn’s hand behind her back. As Nicolai had trained ever since he was young, his strength was simply inhuman for Glynn, who felt her arm twisted at an odd angle.
“Ah, I changed my mind… you are not worthy of touching my face,” remarked Nicolai as he pressed on an acupressure point on Glynn’s hand, causing a sharp pain to shoot through her arm.
“AHHH!!!” Glynn screamed out in pain.
Zena did not expect her brother to make a move, her eyes became as big as saucers. She stepped forward as she was afraid that her brother was going to break the arm of Glynn Nelson, while she did not care about this woman and thought that she deserved this—— they couldn’t start a war with the Nelsons at the moment. Not when the strength of both families was equal.
Trying to stop him, Zena stepped forward, “Nicolai, calm down.”
“I am calm,” stated Nicolai as he looked down at Glynn, whose eyes were filled with tears. “What, did you think that I would let you slap me and there would be no retaliation? Your brother and you might be something in front of others, but you are ‘nothing’ in front of me, got it, snarly?”
