Chapter 595: Shot three times
Somewhere in the far end of the suburbs, two men were walking down a lane that was covered with thorny bushes.

“When do you think they will transfer the money in our accounts?” one of the hoodlums asked while striding towards the factory where he and his partner had left the man and the woman they had kidnapped and brought the two of them here as per the orders that were given to them.

His partner frowned. “Don’t be impatient, Carl. The big boss said that he will transfer the money after he gets the goods. Once that woman is taken away from here by the men of our big boss, we don’t have to worry about getting paid. A rich man like him who actually controls such a big underworld gang, do you think that he will shy away from handing over a few million?”

The other man tilted his head and clicked his tongue, “But I still don’t understand why Mister Roman didn’t let us kill that man. He is not useful at all, is he, John?”

This was what John also wondered about. He and Carl wanted to kill Noah the second he started chasing after them but they received a call from the big boss, who asked them to leave that man alone. This left the two of them to wonder if the boss was also interested in that man.

Carl continued speaking, “I must say, the boss really knows how to make us work for the money. Making that man submit was not an easy job. that Noah Nelson, or whoever the fuck he is, fought like his life depended on it. Even after breaking three of his ribs, he was willing to fight for that woman.”

He licked his lips and lecherously commented, “I wonder how delightful that woman is in bed for two men to go to such lengths for her.”

John glanced at Carl with a frown. He rebuked him in a low voice, “Don’t even think about it. That’s the woman Mister Roman wants. If you dare to toy with her, do you believe that he will let you see another day?”

Carl shuddered when he heard John’s warning but at the same time he was unhappy. That woman was not a virgin nor was she untouched; why should he not play with her a little? Such a beautiful woman, it was a shame to let her go without getting a taste of her.

His eyes flickered as he agreed with John.

The two men continued walking without saying another word. However, the second they arrived at the abandoned factory and pushed open the door, they were stunned to find that the two people they had abducted were not lying on the ground and had gone missing.

“Where the fuck is she?” Carl roared; he didn’t care about Noah, as he was only ordered to keep Noah alive and as for what happened to that man, Carl and John didn’t have to care about him.

But Ariana—she was their golden egg-laying hen.

With her gone missing, how would they get the money from Mister Roman?

John, however, was calm as he swept his gaze through the factory and said to Carl, “Calm down; these doors were locked, which means that they are still in the factory. We just need to find them.”

Only then did Carl breathe a sigh of relief and head further inside the factory. If he had known that the woman would fuck him up like this, he would have drugged her even more heavily. It was better to ignore the commands of Mister Roman than worry about whether that woman had run away from the factory or not.

The two men started looking for Noah and Ariana.

They thought that the two of them ran upstairs and were hiding there but just as they turned their backs and were halfway up the stairs, the lids of the dirty and old trunks opened.

Ariana and Noah exchanged a look with one another before stepping out of the boxes that were too small for them and rushing out of the factory.

However, before they could even cheer over the small victory that they had earned, a roar of rage sounded behind them and the two of them looked up.

On the second floor stood the hoodlum named Carl and he was peering out of a small boarded window, looking straight at them.

“Run!” Noah pushed Ariana in front of him while he covered the back, hoping that those men would attack him before reaching Ariana.

Because of the push, Ariana stumbled a little but soon got back to her footing and turned her head to the front as she started to run even faster.

“They are getting away, John! They are getting away!”

Carl ran out of the factory with a gun in his hand; more than the fact that he was about to lose millions of dollars, he was furious over the fact that he was about to lose the woman on whom he had set his eyes.

He had thought of a way to make her serve him at night while making sure that she kept her mouth shut, but before he could implement his plan, that woman snuck from right under his nose!

And if not for this nosy man who had helped her escape, that woman would be under him tonight.

“Carl, no!” John could see through Carl’s plan. He rushed after him but he was a step too late as Carl raised his hand and took aim at Noah.

And before John could stop him —

The sound of three gunshots echoed in the clearing.

“NOAH!”

Ariana turned back just in time to catch Noah, who had been shot in his leg. She looked at the blood that was flowing down his leg and felt unbearable pain. It was because of her; he got hurt because of her. Her mother was right; she only brought agony to those who were around her.

“Hey,” Just as her thoughts were spiralling out of her control, Ariana felt Noah touch her cheek. His warm touch snapped her out of her daze as she raised her head and turned to look at him.

“Why are you crying?” he asked with a smile. “Are you feeling sorry for me? Please say yes.”
