Chapter 606: Identity of the masked man
Everyone rushed to the living hall, where Millie was holding her head in her hands with Jeanne looking at her with contempt and frustration. Seeing the poor girl tremble and whimper, Kaylyn rushed over and hugged the shivering woman.

“What are you doing, Jean?” she asked. It was bad enough that she was worried about her daughter, who hadn’t returned home without Jeanne causing trouble.

Jeanne’s expression turned affronted and she exclaimed, “What do you mean? Do you think that I have done something wrong? I didn’t even say a word to this girl and she started screaming all of a sudden. I—I just turned on the television. What’s wrong with that?”

She then glanced at her daughter, who was shaking like a brittle leaf and shook her head. “It was a mistake to bring her out of the hospital; we should have left her there. She does better when she is living alone.”

There was indeed nothing wrong with turning the television on and watching the news channel. There was something else that ticked off Millie.

Nicolai turned to look at the news that was running on the business news channel and carefully read through the information. His eyes paused when a portrait appeared on the news channel and he glanced at Millie, whose face went even paler.

“SHIT!”

He turned around on his feet and rushed past the Ashford family.

“Where are you going?”Keon shouted after the man but Nicolai didn’t stop.

“What’s going on? What happened to him? What did he see?” Kaylyn asked as she turned her attention to the news channel before turning to look at her son. “A lot more than me,” replied Keon as he chased after Nicolai.

However, as he was running out of the house, he said to his mother, “You should stay at home; no matter who tries to enter the house, don’t open the door!”

While Kayly tried to look for clues through the news channel, Emil brought another piece of shocking news with him.

“Penelope ran away from the prison; someone helped her.”

Nicolai drove to the Longest City like a maniac before coming to a stop at the gates of the Nelson mansion. Upon reaching the mansion, he rushed out of the car; for some reason, Nicolai knew that the chances of Ariana being here were likely to be impossible but he had to trust his guts.

Like how he knew that there was something wrong with his dad when he was coming back home late. However, this feeling created a kind of anxiety in his heart because the last time he had trusted his heart more than his mind, he had almost lost his mother.

With his jaw set, he stepped inside the mansion when the guards tried to stop him.

“You cannot enter —”

The man didn’t even finish speaking when Nicolai raised his hand and punched the man in the face. His actions were brutal, especially when he knew that half of his heart was missing.

Blood gushed out of the mouth of the man but Nicolai didn’t bother to stop and enjoy the sight.

He barged right into the mansion when Jonathan came running in a hurry.

“What are you doing, Mister De Luca? You cannot just enter the house at this hour; the masters have gone to sleep—”ARGHHH!”

“If they are sleeping, then get them to wake up,” Nicolai pulled the man by his collar and snarled, “If I don’t see them in sixty seconds, I will be the one dragging them out of the bed and that will not be pretty.”

Killian and Mia rushed down the stairs with Zena and Noah following behind them slowly.

Zena looked at her brother before questioning him tentatively, “What’s the matter, Nico?”

She thought that her brother had accepted Noah after her husband had saved her life and their child’s but she never thought that Nicolai would come looking for her and Noah at such an odd hour.

Even Killian was not happy with the matter but he pursed his lips into a tight smile and questioned, “Nicolai, to what do we owe the pleasure of seeing you at this odd hour of the night-0–what the hell do you think you are doing?”

Before anyone could even understand what was going on, Nicolai rushed forward and clasped hold of Killian’s collar. With his other hand holding the gun right against the side of the man’s temple, “Where the fuck is Ariana? Where did you take her?”

“What do you think you are doing?” Mia rushed forward to pry the fingers of the man who was holding her husband but when she saw Nicolai turn around and aim the nozzle of the gun at her, she paused.

“I am not here to play. Tell me, where did you hide her?”

Mia felt her heart squeeze as she looked at the man and then the mouth of the gun. She said to him, “I don’t know what you are saying, Nicolai. You came to our house and then made such absurd demands at such an odd hour; you better leave or else I will call the police—”

“Go ahead; we will see who is faster, you or the bullet in my gun,” Nicolai remarked and the woman stiffened even more.

Noah, who couldn’t take it anymore, stepped forward and questioned, “What do you think you are doing, Nicolai? You cannot just barge into my house and threaten my parents even if you don’t like them.”

“Oh, I assure you that this has nothing to do with the fact that you married my sister or the fact that you are the ex-husband of the woman I love,” Nicolai sneered as he turned his eyes to Noah, who was dressed in a low V collar shirt. “I mean—”

He trailed off when his gaze fell on the large pigmented, congenital melanocytic nevi on Noah’s chest. His gaze then slowly turned to Killian as he pulled his collar away. His eyes flickered as he recalled a certain memory and his lips curled into a sneer.

He turned and looked at Mia before saying, “You are one treacherously sly woman. To think you actually passed off someone else’s son as his—and here I thought that you were an idiot.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about,” Mia refused instinctively, and she was about to say something more when the sound of a cane knocking down the stairs echoed in the silent hall.

Senior Mister Nelson looked down at Nicolai before stating, “Calm down, boy; I think I know where Ariana is.”
