Chapter 614: Confessing his sins
Kayden caught Jeremy just before the bastard was about to fly out of the country. Nicolai knew the Nelson family was loaded but he never knew that they had a little treasury hidden somewhere in their house because Jeremy was found near his private jet.
No wonder; they couldn’t trace him down easily.
According to Noah, their family didn’t have enough money to purchase a private jet, which meant that Jeremy was also involved in money laundering. Another crime added to the list but it wasn’t like he was going to hand Jeremy to the police. No, it would be him who would be handing down the punishment.
The reason his mother stopped him from rushing after Jeremy was because she and Regal were busy handling the Serpents. Jeremy was still their leader and if the Serpents were not given something, then there was a good chance that they would have come to rescue their pied piper.
Kayden brought Jeremy to the small house where that man had ruined Ariana’s childhood. Even though the house was located in a residential area where surveillance cameras were jutting out from every corner, Regal had already taken care of everything.
His mother had also reached out to her connections and had them deal with every single security measure that could capture them.
Thus, when their car came to a stop in front of that house, Nicolai didn’t have to cover his face or sneak inside; he simply strode inside the house without even worrying about anything.
His throat got flooded with disgust when he headed towards the basement where Jeremy had built his private ‘wonderland.’. The very same room where he had taken that video, scarring Ariana for her entire life. The place didn’t change at all. Even the bedsheet was still the same, maybe it had something to do with Jeremy’s obsession with Kaylyn that he kept this entire place intact, making sure that his memories could be relived without losing their original essence.
Nicolai had to roll the nausea down as he looked around the basement and took in the decor of the place where his pallas lost a piece of her life and never regained it.
A commotion attracted his attention and he turned to look at the corner of the room where Jeremy was kneeling. Kayden had his knee pressed against the back of his neck and he was looking at Nicolai with sheer terror in his eyes.
“What’s wrong? Not so macho without your mask, eh?” Nicolai remarked as a rush of hatred rushed in his veins.
His mother glanced at the man with a hint of disgust in her eyes; it was clearly evident that she wanted to kill this man for hurting what was precious to her son but Inez knew perfectly well that this revenge wasn’t her own.
She turned to look at Nicolai and said to him, “Do your thing; I will be standing behind you.”
Not many mothers would tell their sons that they were standing behind them when they were about to avenge themselves through sheer murderous means.
But Inez De Luca had always been different from the rest of the mothers. She knew what her son wanted and had tried her best to help him deal with his issues in the healthiest way possible.
Noah glanced at Jeremy, his eyes filled with a distorted hatred that Nicolai could feel echoing with his own.
“You really made a fool out of me, uncle—or should I say father? But then again, you haven’t done anything to be called that,” Noah remarked as he walked up to Jeremy, whose gaze ping-ponged between him and Nicolai.
He must be wondering whose retaliation he should fear the most. The man whose woman he had tried to hurt or the man whose entire life was carefully controlled by him for the sake of revenge.
Seducing the wife of his brother and giving birth to an illegitimate child just to get the rights that he couldn’t—a shitty move to pull and there was no wonder that he was about to turn into a grandpa who would not be invited to the birthdays of his grandson.
“Noah, I am your father! I was the one who raised you when my fucking brother didn’t take care of you,” Jeremy shouted, his eyes pleading with Noah as he said to him, “I was there for you when no one else was willing to care for you, son. You can’t do this to me!”
When Jeremy spoke up, Noah raised his foot and kicked him on the shoulder, causing the man to cry out in pain.
“Father? You think you are deserving to call yourself that?” Noah lowered his body and grabbed Jeremy by a fistful of his hair. The man shrieked and Nicolai closed his eyes, relishing the sound; back then, Ariana wanted to shriek just like this but she couldn’t because this bastard had gagged her. Compared to him, Nicolai felt that they were too kind.
Noah pulled Jeremy’s head back and punched him in the face. “You fucking ruined our lives! And you think you can call yourself my dad? Then you are fucking wrong. Because of you, my mother made a fucking puppet out of me and because of you, Ariana lost the innocence that she should never have had! She was a fucking child, Jeremy! A child!”
He ripped a handful of hair and Jeremy screamed in agony.
He tried to struggle against Kayden but his cousin was like a boulder; Jeremy couldn’t shake him off even though he tried his best. Without his little minions and the many weapons he carried, this man was nothing.
“I…I don’t know what you are talking about, Noah. I did no such thing; I was just—I was just trying to live a normal life.”
“At the cost of someone else?!” Nicolai didn’t even know when he moved but by the time he reeled away from Jeremy, he had punched him so hard and so many times that the man’s face was covered with blood. “You piece of shit, you are still making excuses? You are a fucking pervert and a paedophile. How dare you—how dare you try to escape from the consequences of your actions?”
