Chapter 619: Stop with the lies
Ariana pulled away from her parents’ embrace and then looked at the two of them with a stern gaze. All her life, she was ashamed of bringing these dark parts of her life to light. But now she knew that she could no longer go on like this anymore. She said to her parents, “Mom, Dad… please help me get better. There… there is something more that you don’t know. Can I tell you about those things?”
“Of course, you can.” Kaylyn wiped her eyes and hugged her tight once again. She patted her on the back of her head and stated, “You can tell us anything and we will listen, sweetie. Don’t think even for a second that we will judge you.”
Ariana parted her lips and started speaking. She had no idea how long she spoke. All she knew was that by the time she stopped spilling her guts out, her chest was no longer as tight and strained as it usually was. She told her parents about what Marcia did to her and what Ariel and the rest of the Harlow family had done; of course, she did not forget to let them know how Aaron had helped her in many ways.
There was, of course, a lot of crying and more hugging. But by the time Ariana finished speaking, she didn’t feel as dirty as she thought she would; she could finally breathe properly. She was no longer tied down by those inky tendrils and the haunting whispers were no longer echoing in her head as loudly as they used to.
It was as if she had finally broken through the surface of a murky lake.
Her dad said that he was going to press charges on Jeremy for grooming and sexual assault. While Kaylyn maintained that she was going to deal with the socialites and even drag up the matter of Jeremy’s ex-wife’s accident. Since the man was so obsessed with the idea of claiming her as his wife, there was no way the death of his wife was just an accident. It was more than that! Since that was the case, then they needed to discredit Jeremy as much as possible.
At the same time, Keon told her that he was going to discuss these matters with the Nelson corporation as well. Her sufferings were not just the fault of one person, and the Nelson family needed to give them an answer for it.
The thoughts of handling the court matters made Ariana’s head ache but she wanted justice. She wanted her childhood self to finally step out in the light with her head raised in the air and not hide in the darkness as if she had done something wrong when she clearly hadn’t.
With everything arranged, Ariana didn’t need to worry about anything. All she needed to do was stay in her ward and have her sessions with Doctor Stoll.
She wanted to get better not only for herself but also for the man she had fallen for.
The very man who was nowhere to be seen, according to her father, Nicolai was busy with some things. But he asked her to not think too much about it for Nicolai was the reason she was found on time. It was him who was looking for her like his life depended on it and turned the entire city upside down for her.
It was him who carried her out of that mansion and brought her to the hospital.
And Nicolai stayed with her till the doctors let him know that she was stable.
Only then did he leave but why? Why did he leave? The fact that he might no longer want her made her jittery.
She turned to look at Emil, who was staring at her abdomen with a soft look in her eyes and asked, “What’s the matter?” Why was he looking at her belly like that?
Emil snapped out of his daze and shook his head before saying to her, “Its nothing. How are you feeling now? Do you want to eat something?”
“Not at the moment,” Ariana blinked her eyes as she replied honestly. She then asked, “My phone… did anyone find it?”
“I don’t think so,” Emil replied with a shake of his head. “I think it was Jeremy who threw the phone out in the sea, though the police have already investigated the mansion; they didn’t find anything.”
“You can use mine if you want.”
“Thanks,” Ariana took the phone from Emil and typed Nicolai’s number.
However, the phone continued ringing but no one picked it up.
When the call was diverted to the automated voice message, Ariana frowned. What was Nicolai doing?
“Noah!” Mia Nelson stood up from the couch and rushed to the entrance of the house. Because of what happened with Ariana, she and the rest of the family members, including the servants,. “You are finally here; tell your dad that I didn’t do anything unjust to him. You are his son; even the DNA reports state that.”
Her son had always listened to her, and as long as he willingly admitted that the words Nicolai claimed were nothing but lies, he could help her wash off the suspicion.
“Where is Jeremy?” Killian asked when he didn’t see his half brother.
“We don’t know,” Noah tactically refused to give the correct answer. “When we arrived, he had already escaped.”
“So he truly did those dirty things?” Killian’s voice rose a pitch higher and his expression turned stiff. He raised his hands and buried his face into them; he had trusted Jeremy quite a lot, even though they were half brothers. Never did he once doubt that the man would do such a thing.
“Noah—”
“That should be enough, Mom. Even if you want me to pile more lies on top of your mountains of lies, I cannot do it anymore,” Noah interrupted his mother.
Mia tried to keep her composure when she heard his words but her heart was already thudding in her chest.

“Noah, you do not understand. Even if I was involved with someone else, you are your father’s child.” The man promised her that the sperm he had collected for insemination belonged to Killian. “The DNA report—”
“Thats because you gave birth to his brother’s child, mother.”
