Chapter 620: Bonds over Blood
Mia looked at her son as if he were a ghost; she blinked her eyes and opened her mouth to refute but before she could do that, Killian rose to his feet and walked to her side.

“Is this true? You slept with Jeremy and lied to me?” Killian questioned. Only he knew how heartbroken he was when he found that he had slept with Mia; however, as the man of the Nelson family, he knew better than to shirk responsibilities.

Thus, he broke up with his lover and married Mia. However, not once did he doubt her; to think all the things she told and said to him were lies!

“No!” Mia turned to look at her husband with a heartbroken look on her face. She hadn’t expected such a turn of events; she had indeed slept with the masked man but that was what Mia had to do to get her hands on Killian’s sperm. She had gone through the insemination process in the clinic to make sure that the child belonged to Killian and no one else. “I—I admit that I did scheme a little but Noah is your child. I conceived him through insemination and the sperm was yours!”

“I have never slept with Jeremy—”

“The masked man was Jeremy, Mom.” Noah broke through her last defence, causing Mia to pause and stagger.

Glynn, who stood right at the foot of the stairs, cupped her mouth with horror in her eyes. She looked at her mother with a strange look in her eyes; she couldn’t believe it. The woman who had tormented her and ruined her was actually such a despicable woman?

What right did her mother have to condemn her and tell her that she was not good enough when she had done such a thing to snare her father?

“Why?” Killian turned to look at Mia; there was so much anger and disappointment in his voice that it embarrassed Mia in ways that she couldn’t explain. “I might have never loved you but I have respected you and cared for you, Mia! I could have cheated on you; I could have gone back to my ex-lover whom you sent away but I didn’t. I stayed with you honestly. And this is how you have repaid me? By lying to me?”

“TELL ME WHY YOU DID THIS TO ME!?”

Mia closed her eyes and flinched when Killian lost his temper with her. She clenched her fists and sobbed.

“I didn’t know that the man was your brother; he asked me to sleep with him in exchange for getting you. I loved you too much but you wouldn’t look at me; you only loved that woman and wanted to marry her. I—I was running out of time and I had no choice. I never knew that the man was your brother and that he had lied to me. I also thought that Noah was your son till today!”

Killian shook his head and turned his face away as if looking at Mia was going to hurt him even more. “Just tell me if Glynn is my daughter or she is too—”

“Of course not!” Mia shook her head and refuted at once. “She is your daughter! It was just a one-time thing, Kill. I never met with the man ever again, much less do anything with him.”

“But you still took his orders,” Noah snapped. He clenched his fists and then stated, “You took his orders because you feared that the truth would come to light, even though you say that you had no idea. The truth is that you were more or less aware of it; you sensed that there was something amiss and thus, you blindly listened to the man and had him ruin Ariana.”

“And not only Ariana… You have done enough damage to Glynn as well.” Noah glanced at his sister, who had turned into his half sister and his gaze softened. “Lock her up, torment her by brainwashing her and making sure that she would become your puppet just as you have done to me.”

He turned to look at his mother and stated coldly, “I used to think that it was normal and never questioned you but after seeing what Marcia did to Ariana, I realised that you were not any better. While that woman had physically and verbally tormented her, you have done it verbally to us. You have ruined our lives for your sake.”

“You—you too?” Glynn was shocked when she heard the words of her brother. She didn’t care whether Noah’s father was Killian or Jeremy, he was her brother who had protected and cared for her as a child and teen.

Noah didn’t reply; instead he simply smiled at Glynn before saying, “I am sorry.”

“What are you talking about?” Killian asked, his eyes widening. “Locking you two up where?”

“You need to take a look at the basement as well as the attic, father,” Noah didn’t change the way he addressed Killian even though he knew that he was not his son after all; even though Killian was harsh and stern on him, he was more of a father in his eyes than Jeremy.

The man who only lied to him.

“No!” Mia tried to stop her husband but the man turned on his feet and rushed to the attic.

Mia’s face turned deathly pale as she turned to look at Noah and questioned him, “How can you? How could you—are you happy now? Are you satisfied, huh!?”

“Were you satisfied when you pushed another woman in a pit, mother?” Noah questioned. “Were you satisfied when you tried to break the mind and will of your children such that you could control them and make them into what you wanted them to become? Did you think that by creating us into what you want, you would be able to wash off what you have done?”

“Noah, you don’t understand. I was only trying to survive. To do things differently such that you two will have a better future, I just—”

“How can we have a future?” Noah questioned with a smile on his face that didn’t reach his eyes. “Do you think that we will have a better future by stepping on the corpse and cries of Ariana? Do you even know what Jeremy did to her, Mom? What did he plan to do with her? Do you know? He groomed her, Mom. A ten-year-old girl was trapped in a locked room with a grown man, stripped to his toes. Do you even know the horror she might have felt?”

“I do—”

“No, I don’t think you do.”
