Chapter 624: End : Part 3
“Child?” Ariana blinked her eyes and looked down at Nicolai’s hand that was touching her abdomen. “I—I am pregnant?”
“No one told you?” Nicolai frowned. He thought that someone might have told Ariana about her pregnancy but when he saw the confusion in her eyes, he knew that they had collectively made him the bearer of this news and that too without telling him.
Ariana raised her head and stared at him in shock and disbelief, causing Nicolai to touch the tip of his nose with his fingers. He sighed before relaying what Aiden told them; by the time he finished speaking, Ariana was in tears again. She wished she could kill Jeremy with her own hands; it was bad enough that he harmed her but because of him, her precious child was in danger as well.
“Hey, don’t worry,” Nicolai took her hands in his and promised, “We will do everything to make sure that the child is born safely. My mom already made the arrangements. I believe that as long as we follow the advice of the doctors, everything will be fine.”
Ariana nodded as she rubbed her abdomen, which was still flat. She raised her head and then turned to look at Nicolai before saying to him in a teasing voice, “Who would have thought that the little boy who once cried to get out of that abandoned warehouse would one day make me carry his baby? I just hope that this child is not a crybaby like you.”
Upon hearing her words, Nicolai’s lips curled up and he pinched Ariana’s cheeks. “You little—so you finally remembered it? But you are wrong. I never cried.”
“You did.” Ariana swatted his hand off her cheek and rubbed the stinging side. “You might not remember it but you did cry when I failed to break the ropes.”
“It must be a cry of frustration.”
“Semantics.”
“You—”
Ariana chuckled as she hugged the man tightly. “I promise, Nico. I will never again do such a thing; I will do everything in my power to get better for you and our child. I will take my sessions seriously until I can finally be good enough to stand next to you. But promise me that you will stay by my side and won’t leave me?”
“Even if you kick me out, I won’t. I love you, princess, and I mean every word. I truly love you more than anything. I will be by your side every freaking second. We both are going to fight your monsters and together we will triumph. But there will be no leaving or breaking up.” He caressed her stomach and smirked, “You are stuck with me.”
“Who says that I am stuck with you?” Ariana raised her brows. “Maybe you are stuck with me?”
He beamed at her, his ruby red eyes lighting up with a beautiful glint that made the pain in her heart a bit better. “Does that mean you are mine? Forever and now?”
“I don’t think I had a choice from the very day you swaggered into my life.”
“Damn right, you didn’t.” Nicolai raised his head and pressed his lips against hers.
And he had no idea how relieved she was when his warmth surrounded her.
He was right; together they were going to triumph over anything.
Epilogue
Five months later.
There was no way his daughter’s future husband could be worse than his three sons. One being a borderline psychopath.
That was what Theodore Ashford thought and believed until he saw that motherfucker gangster following his daughter like a lost golden retriever.
Dear lord, you must be out somewhere; can’t you turn back time and give his precious daughter someone who was much more normal?
What kind of sin had he done to suffer in such a way? Why him? Did he burn down a city or what? It had to be some unforgivable sin, right? Because how could this happen to him?
There had to be some kind of mistake!
“Theo!” his wife pulled on the sleeves of his shirt while sitting next to him at the dinner table. “You are staring too hard.”
“You mean to say glaring, darling,” Theodore snarled as he stabbed the fork that he was holding in his hand into the steak.
They were supposed to be discussing the wedding plans of his daughter and Nicolai. However, Theodore was less than willing to do it. Why? Why should he hand over his precious daughter to that wanker?
He knew that it was Nicolai who saved his daughter but that didn’t mean that he was going to like this bloody gangster, with those full sleeves of tattoos that decorated both of his arms. A delinquent mafia prince, who was nowhere near good enough to carry even the shoes of his precious, well-mannered, and elegant daughter.
If only she were not pregnant with his child!

Don’t get him wrong; he loved his daughter and he loved his grandson even more. He was so happy when he found out that the child was safe and sound with all the medicines and precautions Ariana had taken but what bothered him was the father of that child.
Sometimes he wondered if Nicolai was even born in the normal way or if his mother did some ritual and invited the devil home, who handed her his spawn to raise.
Kaylyn cleared her throat and turned to look at Inez before saying to her, “I am sorry. He is yet to process the thought that his darling daughter is going to get married.”
“I do understand his feelings.” Inez placed the fork and knife on the side of her plate and glanced at her son, who was helping Ariana carry the roasted chicken and mashed potatoes that she had cooked. She then turned to look at Theodore and Kaylyn before stating, “I have a daughter too and I fully understand how you feel but don’t worry; my son will never let your daughter down.”
“Like I would let him,” Theodore hissed as he clenched the knife in his hand tightly. It was as if he was already imagining which spot to stab if Nicolai was to let Ariana down.
The said fucker walked over and placed the roasted chicken on the table and helped Ariana sit down.
“What are you talking about?” Nicolai asked as he took his seat beside Ariana.
“Which spot to stab in case you fall back into the same routine as you did in the past after marrying my daughter.” Theodore sneered as he glared at Nicolai, who had the good grace to look down instead of holding his glare.
He lowered his head and said politely, “I told you, sir, I will never do such a thing. Your daughter is too precious for me to break her heart.”
“Isn’t he sweet, Theo?” His wife gushed over him but Theodore only narrowed his eyes.
