Chapter 627: Epilogue : Final
“What?” Though she was sure that Nicolai was very much aware of what she was asking him, the man arched his brow and questioned, “What’s wrong?”
However, she was too overwhelmed to bother quibbling with him. She walked over to him and touched the tattoo of the woman who resembled her awfully too much, while the grim reaper, who had always been alone, finally held the hand that he had been waiting for.
“When did you—”
“It’s not an impulse if that’s what you are asking for,” Nicolai told her as he hugged her. “It was about damn time I finally got it done so I chose a pretty day to have your ownership firmly imprinted on my heart and soul as well as my body. How is it? Do you like it?”
He blinked down at her and who knows what he saw but then his lips curled up into a smile, “Ah, it seems like you love it.”
“And how do you know that?” Ariana asked as she took a sharp intake of breath. Even though her heart was filled with a feeling that seemed to be overflowing, she never said a word. But then again, Nicolai had this knack of guessing what she liked or disliked. It was terrifying how he knew her better than she did.
“You got that ownership look in your eyes. The one that you usually have when you are pleased with something that I do and give me those fuck-me eyes,” he smirked and pulled her even closer. “I think I am more than ready to do that.”
“No,” though Ariana was indeed more than overjoyed with his sweet gesture, she had a wedding to attend. Her own wedding.
She pushed the man away from her and said in a stern voice, “We are not doing it; you will get your prize at night.”
“But Nico the Great wants it now,” the man breathed against her lips, the scent of whisky and macaroons spreading all over, making Ariana wonder what kind of fusion this was.
“Nico—”
“Just a bit—”
“I don’t want anyone to know that we did the deed before the wedding,” she pushed him away with those blue eyes, which made him back off. After all, who asked him to be smitten with her to the point where he can’t even think straight?
“Fine!” He trudged back into the dressing room. “But just so you know, you are not getting any sleep tonight!”
“I love you too!” Ariana shouted back with a grin and this time around she didn’t hold herself back like she did in the past, nor did she fear anyone eavesdropping on her. If possible, she wanted everyone to hear that she loved this man and he was hers and hers alone.
The love of her life.
“The dreamiest wedding of Nicolai de Luca and Ariana Ashford!”
On the television, the reporter was showing the images of Ariana and Nicolai as she relayed the news to the entire city.
While Ariana and Nicolai’s faces were filled with smiles, the woman on the bed seemed to have gone agitated. Ages ago, she was kidnapped, and her eyes were taken away from her. When she was found, she was on her last breath and even then her family had not taken mercy on her before sending her to a small and serene place where she was supposed to live the rest of her life.
“No!”
“He is mine!”
“I was going to marry him! AHHH! You bitch! I will never forgive you! Come here; I will kill you!”
The nurse in the ward was stunned when she saw Penelope lose her mind and move around. With her eyes gone, the woman was bumping here and there; the nurse was worried that she would get injured, so she immediately called the doctors.
“Prepare the injection.”
“She is too agitated; we need to inject her with a tranquiliser.”
“Get away! Get away! That’s my man! Mine! Ahhhh!”
While Penelope was being suppressed by the doctors, there was someone who was just as agitated.
Dominic looked at the news and spat a series of curses. He then turned to look at the small kitchen and shouted, “When are you going to bring me my lunch?”
Regina flinched as she turned to look over her shoulder and replied meekly, “A second—just a second.”
She then wiped her hands on the dirty rag and hurried out with the dish in her hands.

After Nicolai dealt with Jeremy, the second people he finished dealing with were Dominic and Maximus. While Maximus was sent to prison, Dominic’s company was closed down, leaving them with nothing but only enough money to buy a small apartment.
Regina wished to leave Dominic but she didn’t have Inez’s courage or brains. She could only stay with her husband no matter how he tormented her.
“This is what you have cooked?” Dominic frowned when he saw no chicken or bacon in the dish.
“We have no money to buy meat—ah!” Regina cried out in pain as Dominic hurled a glass bottle at her head, causing skin to break and blood to flow out.
“Fucking idiotic bitch!” he cursed, looking upset and angry when he heard Regina’s words. He looked at her thin and scrawny figure and turned to look at Inez, who was looking radiant and beautiful on the screen.
A wave of regret washed over him and he muttered, “I shouldn’t have divorced her. I should have never divorced her! It’s all your fault! You are the one who ruined me!”
“AHHH!”
Five years later.
“WHO THE FUCK DID THIS TO MY BABY!”
A roar echoed in the house and Ariana, who was watching Inez and her mother play with the twins, flinched.
“Uh oh.” She grimaced and turned to look at the garage of their house; she knew that Nicolai would find the truth in a few days but she never expected that he would find it this soon.
“What happened?” Inez hurriedly hugged the youngest twin and coaxed him back to sleep as he had woken up due to the shout of his father.
“I think Nico found the artistic work done on his car,” Ariana replied with a sigh and went to bring the culprit, now that the crime was found, it was only right for the criminal to be taken to court.
“Ah, are you talking about that?” Kaylyn recalled something and covered her mouth in horror. Because she knew that this was going to be really troublesome.
“I am talking about that,” Ariana sighed as she dragged her daughter out of her doll room and then headed down to the garage with her mother and mother-in-law.
The men were already gathered around the new car that had scratches curled around the left side, and Nicolai stood right in front of the scratched side.
“Who—who could be this cruel? This is a limited edition car!” he exclaimed before turning to look at the guards, who lowered their heads. “You better come out clean before I cut you in half instead of the fucker who—”
“Daddy, Cecy did it!”
Nicolai, who was raging, immediately turned silent and looked at his mini-me. With wavy black hair and ruby eyes, Cecil De Luca looked up at him with a proud look on her face.
“You did it?” he croaked.
“That’s right,” Cecil nodded with a beaming smile. She then turned to look at the scratches and said, “Cecy loves Daddy so so so much! This is your birthday gift, Daddy.”
She then turned to look at Nicolai with teary eyes and asked tentatively, “Do you not like it?”
“Of course—I love it!” Nicolai replied in a squeaky and high-pitched voice. He hugged his daughter and glared at his wife, who shrugged with her hands in the air.
“It was already a done deal by the time I caught her. Don’t look at me.”
Nicolai scoffed. He knew Ariana was lying through her teeth; his wife must have not only known about this but must have also egged Cecy on. After all, he knew her better than anyone. She must still be upset over that shaggy blonde trying to get close to him at the last party. Like it was his fault!
He walked over to her side and muttered, “I told you, I didn’t do anything. It was her who came onto me; I pushed her away, didn’t I?”
She fixed his jacket that he had haphazardly thrown on his shoulders with a smile tugging on her lips, “Well, that doesn’t make it any nicer. I hate it when other women try to jump on you, Flintstone.”
“So you take it out on me?” Nicolai asked with a note of fake exaggeration.
“Hey, I needed to let others know that you were a daddy,” Ariana interlinked her fingers with his. “If it makes you feel better, I got you a new car and your favourite butterscotch cake.”
Now that she was the head of her department along with a well-known name in the artistic world, she could easily afford a car that Nicolai wanted.
“Seven tiers?” Nicolai’s eyes shone with delight.
“Seven tiers,” she confirmed.
“And what about…” he trailed off as he handed Cecy to Theodore, who almost snatched his favourite granddaughter from his hands. “That baby doll?”
He seemed a bit to eager for Ariana to tease him anymore. She rolled her eyes and pushed him away.
“Wouldn’t you know about it soon, my prince?” She told him as she got on her tiptoes and pressed her lips onto his in a soft yet burning kiss.
In front of their whole family and guests who were still arriving for the party.
“Mom, Cecy too! Do it to, Cecy!” Cecil flailed her legs, demanding the attention of her mother.
“Truly, she is really your mini me, Nico.” Inez chuckled as she watched her granddaughter get furious because her mother’s attention was on her father.
Nicolai rolled his eyes and poked Cecy on her forehead. “Your mother is mine.”
“She is mine!”
“No, mine!”
“Mom said that she loves me the most!”
“She loves me the most!”
“Mommy!”
“Princess!”
“Alright, you two. Who wants some cake?”

Prologue.
“Can you stop being so disgusting?” Henry pushed the woman who was trying to speak to him, causing her foot to twist and the woman to fall on the floor. “Didn’t I say that I don’t want to be tied to a scheming gold digger like you anymore?”
Mia, who was nursing her twisted foot, raised her head and looked at the man in front of her, who was now staring at her as if she were a stranger. His cold gaze hurt her more than her throbbing foot.
Six months—she had been trying to talk and reach out to her husband for more than six months but even after all the efforts that she had put into saving their relationship, nothing seemed to be working because he didn’t remember her.
Their memories, their time, and everything else combined were lost in the accident six months ago. Now she was nothing but a stranger and —
“Darling, don’t be like that,” a slender woman walked up to Henry and slid her arm around his waist. “Its hard for her too.”
“What’s hard for her?” Henry questioned with a disgusted scowl. “Hasn’t she been enjoying what belongs to you like a despicable homewrecker?”
His words cut deep into Mia’s soul and she staggered to her feet.
“Fine, you win! Despicable homewrecker? The reason I held on till now was because I was afraid that when My Henry returns, he will blame me for not trying hard but now I can’t hold on anymore!”
As she turned around to leave, Mia thought that her entanglement would end with her ex-husband. But what if her ex-husband sends her father to prison and drugs her enough to send her into the bed of a stranger?
And what if the said stranger turned out to be the half-brother of her ex-husband, who demands her hand in marriage in exchange for saving her father?
He respects her, dotes on her, and gives her the stars if she asks for them. But is Lucas really that into her or does he have some intentions?
While Mia fends off the affection of the man she cannot trust and her ex-husband, who begs her to return to his side, will she be able to hide from the psycho killer who has been out and about while killing women with an appearance the same as hers?
What secret will unravel as Mia digs deeper into the secrets of her past, present, and future?
