A delinquent murderer
Mrs Harlow still remembered what happened in the past, when she was still young and Ari was still a teenager.
One of the years in the past, Ari had left the house one night because it was a prom night at her college. Though Mrs Harlow had refused, Ari’s teacher had intervened and told her that it was a good opportunity for Ari to learn how to socialize.
More importantly, the boy who asked Ari to the prom came from a good family. Mrs Harlow was a bit tempted after finding out that the boy’s family had a good background. With Ariel sharing an ambiguous relationship with Noah, Mrs Harlow wanted nothing more than for Ari to get involved with a rich man. Even if she could not marry that man because of the flaws in her personality, it was better than nothing.
However, when she returned after shopping for groceries and stepped inside the house, she found everything broken and scattered!
‘AHHH!’ She screamed frightfully, Mrs Harlow thought that someone had broken into her house and was horrified. She quickly picked up the baseball that was her son, sitting on the side of the shoe cabinet, and walked inside. Furthermore, she was ready to hit the person who dared to steal from her. After all, she got this fortune after much trouble!
At the same time, she thought of calling the police, but it was her bad luck that she did not take her phone with her, as the supermarket was just around the corner.
‘I need to find my phone,’ Mrs Harlow muttered, she did think to call her neighbours but when she thought about how her relationship with the neighbours was not good, Mrs Harlow knew that no one would come to help her. Similar to how she did not go to help Mrs Morris when a man broke into her house.
However, before she could find her phone, she heard footsteps behind her, and Mrs Harlow stiffened. She turned to look at the man, who was wearing a stitched neon mask on his face and carrying a sledgehammer in his hands. He stood behind her, staring at her.
‘I thought I told you to keep that girl untouched and safe, my boss needs her without a single flaw on her body,’ the man spoke in a robotic voice as he was wearing a voice changer.
‘She … She just went to a prom with a boy and nothing more,’ Mrs Harlow said to the man, her heart was now beating in full alarm as she knew what was going to happen to her if she did not explain the matter carefully to the man in front of her. ‘I really did not wish to send her out of the house, but her teacher interfered and said something about socializing and——’
‘Shut up!’ The man snapped at her as he raised the club in his hands and placed it right against the head of Mrs Harlow’s head. ‘That girl is the asset that we require, this was something that we told you ages ago, did we not? Why is it that you cannot understand something so simple?’ The man questioned while lightly hitting the wooden club that had wire wrapped around it.
Mrs Harlow smelled the blood on the sharp wire and quivered, not knowing what to do, she knelt on the ground. ‘Please, please… let us off. I promise that I will not let any other man get close to her. This was the last time, I swear it would not happen again.’
She didn’t understand why these people wanted her daughter, nor did she care, as long as she lived.
‘That girl has been long purchased by the patron who is sponsoring you and your family, we are just waiting for his order. Until then, you are supposed to follow what we ask you to do, understand?’ The man said to Mrs Harlow with a cold voice. ‘If I see you going against the order once again, it will not end like this.’
With that, he turned on his feet and walked out, however as he turned around, Mrs Harlow saw her husband lying on the floor with a broken leg.
‘Darling!’ She screamed when she saw the blood surrounding her husband’s body.
Returning to the present, Mrs Harlow clenched her teeth. Years ago, she had agreed to sell her daughter to an unknown patron when a few mafia men approached her and offered her a hefty sum, however, that patron had never appeared in front of her. He only sent money to her account while relaying all sorts of orders.
The only time the patron lost control over everything was when Noah and Ari were forcefully married to one another. However, somehow that patron controlled that situation as well. He was one of the reasons why Noah never touched Ari.
Mrs Harlow did not know who this man was and only knew that he lived in another country, as the money that came to her account was sent from an account that was fixed in the country of Escar.
Though that man never appeared in front of her, his fear never left her heart.
“You are going to nullify the divorce,” Mrs Harlow said with her heart thudding against her ribs. She had to send Ari back to the Nelsons, only then she would be able to save her life.
“Mom!” Ariel yelled at her mother. She couldn’t believe that it was her mother who was telling Ari to nullify the divorce. Was she in the right state of her mind? This was her chance to marry Noah!
However, Mrs Harlow ignored her daughter. Ariel could marry Noah a few years later, there was no need for her to rush. As long as that patron took Ari away with him, they did not need to worry about anything.
Ari too frowned, she looked at Mrs Harlow and pursed her lips.
“It’s impossible,” Ari had spent too much emotion on a man like Noah, she was not going to jump into the same fire pit once again.
Mrs Harlow’s face trembled as she pointed at Ari’s nose and shouted at her, “You want to go against your mother? Have you thought about what would have happened to you if I hadn’t supported you back then? You would be locked in a delinquent prison for the murder you committed.”
