Escaped My Ex, Got Snatched by His Rival - Chapter 84
Trust and love
Ari couldn’t speak for a few seconds. She felt livid and upset at the words that Noah spoke to her. Three years, she gave him three years of her life, and yet, he was unable to understand her.
“You…do you think that I am a toy?” Ari questioned through gritted teeth. Her words caused Noah to look at her with confusion in his eyes, he was unable to understand what Ari was upset about this time. He was even willing to give their relationship a chance, was that not enough?
Seeing the expression on his face, Ari knew that he did not understand anything. She was so angry that she laughed out loud. However, Ari did not lose control of her temper like she did the last time. She now knew that talking with Noah and making him understand how he had hurt, was similar to talking to a wall.
No matter what she said to him, he couldn’t understand why she was upset. Maybe it was because he did not even see her as a person who could feel upset or angry.
In his eyes, Ari was supposed to keep smiling like a doll.
She closed her eyes and then said to Noah, “I am not a doll, Noah. I feel upset, and I feel anger…” She opened her blue eyes and offered a mocking smile to Noah. “You might not believe this, but it was never about you not fulfilling your marital obligations.”
“What do you mean——”
“Do you think that by saying that you will give me a child, you can make me forget the countless nights I waited for you? Or wash away the taunts that were thrown my way? Do you think that a child would miraculously vanish all the hurt and pain you have given me?” Ari hoped that her words would reach Noah for once, but when she saw the cold expression on his face remain the same, she knew she was only wasting her breath.
She sighed and said to Noah, “Let this be the end of us, Noah. There is no need for you to speak any further, nor do I want to listen to you.” With that, she turned on her feet to walk away, but Noah reached out to her and caught her wrist once again.
Ari thought that her words would be enough to make Noah step back and send him on his way, but it seemed like he was too intent on bringing her back with him.
“I don’t understand,” stated Noah, his voice filled with genuine curiosity. “What is it that I am not giving you? I am willing to give this marriage a chance despite everything you have done. What is it that you are unsatisfied with?”
Of course, he did not understand what she meant because Noah Nelson lacked heart and soul. And what remained of his emotions was occupied by Ariel, he did not have anything to offer to Ari. It was not a surprise that he couldn’t even understand what Ari was saying to him.
Ari scoffed. She flung his hand off her wrist and turned to look at the man behind her. Moonlight shone on Noah’s cold and exquisite face, making him look even more unattainable, Ari glanced at his face and thought of the countless fantasies that she once had and clenched her teeth hard.
Seemed like her grandmother was right. Fairytales only sounded good, but were literal hell when one lived them.
To her, Noah was like a Prince Charming whom she used to see from far away. But when she got close to him, she realized that this man was not a Prince Charming but a monster.
A cold and unfeeling devil who could not see anything apart from semantics, codes, and facts.
‘Maybe he sold his soul to get everything that he has now,’ Ari thought. She gazed into his grey eyes and then stated coldly, “Trust and Love, Noah. If I tell you that I did not take Ariel’s place through lies and schemes, will you believe me?”
She was not lying. Her parents had presented Ariel as Noah’s savior but the truth was that it was her who rescued him. And she did not marry him through schemes either, it was Ariel who ran away.
Noah did not say anything. He looked at her with those assessing gaze, as if trying to break through every expression and movement of hers.
Ari smiled mockingly. She knew this was going to happen, even if she were to cut open her heart and present it to Noah, he would not believe that she was not in the wrong.
She glanced at Ariel, who had finally broken free of Aaron and was rushing towards them and said to Noah, “Good night, Mister Nelson. I hope God will make you face the same pain as I do, maybe then you will understand what you couldn’t give me.”
Seeing that she was walking away again, Noah chased right after her, but before he could take more than three steps, a scream echoed behind him.
“AHH!!” Ariel, who had been rushing after Noah, fell to the ground. Her foot twisted to the side, causing her eyes to brim with tears.
“Ariel!” Noah gasped as his attention was diverted to Ariel, he immediately walked over to where Ariel was lying. He did not look at Ari, who was walking out of the Harlow house without looking back.
Ari, who did not see Noah, following her curled her lips in a disdainful smile. With such an attitude, he wanted to give her a child. It would be surprising if he could even touch her.
She stepped past the small iron gate, ignoring the cry of surprise of Mrs. Harlow. Instead, she continued walking down the lane when she heard a familiar voice calling out to her.
“Ariana,”
She turned to look behind her and found Uncle Jeremy walking over to her. She did not see him earlier, most probably he came with Noah and stayed behind to give the two of them some space.
He looked at her face and smiled sympathetically. He said to her, “I guess, Noah and you did not come to a conclusion.”
“We already did, Uncle Jeremy,” Ari smiled at the man. Jeremy had been kind to her, just like Grandpa Nelson. He had at least treated her with basic human respect in the Nelson family.

However, just like Carlisle, Noah’s father—— Jeremy was busy all around the year and hardly ever returned home.
She did not look at what was happening on the lawn and stated, “Divorcing one another is our conclusion.”
