Give me the money

“I want the donuts,” a drunken Ari said to Nicolai. The two of them were standing in the supermarket as Nicolai questioned his life and the peace that he had taken for granted.
With his card in his hand and his hair in Ari’s hand, he turned to look at her. Nicolai snapped, “You know what Pallas, I will pay for the doughnuts even if you do not pull my hair like that.” She was turning him bald. Bald! Even his granddaddy wasn’t bald yet.
He would face a serious crisis if he lost his hair.
Half of his charisma and mysteriousness came from his hair alright.
Though he said that, there was no making sense with a drunken person. Especially someone drunk to the point where she couldn’t even walk in a straight line.
While the two of them paid for the things that they had brought, the people in the supermarket looked at them subtly. While some elderlies frowned at their closeness, most of the customers were filled with awe.
“Look at the boyfriend. He is not even getting angry when his girlfriend is pulling his hair, and you! You get angry at me just because I close the door of your car a bit harshly.”
“What a doting man,” another woman sighed, who was holding a basket of goodies in her hands. “I thought all the good men were gone.”
“Oh they are not gone, alright. It’s just us who are unlucky that our men do not like us as much as they used to,” replied the friend of that woman, shaking her head and clicking her tongue in distaste.
“How I wish I could get a man who will care of me like this!” Another young girl sighed while watching Ari and Nicolai. Her face filled with a gushing expression.
What boyfriend and girlfriend? They were not even close with one another, Nicolai had an annoyed expression. He paid for the doughnuts and the hangover medicine before dragging Ari out of the supermarket. Fortunately, now that Ari got what she wanted, she did not give him that much trouble.
“Walk straight, if you try to go cuckoo again, then I will leave you alone!” Nicolai warned Ari when she tried to drag him to a dress shop. It showcased a beautiful pastel blue dress with black lace, it was a beautiful dress but also super expensive.
Ari pouted upon hearing his scoldings, but this time Nicolai did not give in to her expressions and whines. It was because of his weak determination, that this woman dragged him to the supermarket and the small snack shop down the street.
He had enough!
They were now going back to her apartment where he would dump her and then go back to his own home. After this, Nicolai needed a long nap. Though he could not sleep peacefully, he was certain that spending hours with this woman was enough to knock him out cold.
She had dragged him everywhere!
“I like that dress,” Ari told him as she pointed to the dress. Her eyes brimmed with childlike joy as she said to him, “I never got a new dress from my parents. I was always asked to wear clothes that belonged to my sister.”
Ari’s drunkenness caused her to be much more chatty than usual. She told Nicolai, how she only got the dresses that were either too small or big on Ariel or maybe the ones that she did not like. But apart from that, she did not get another dress.
Even though she and Ariel had different tastes, she was asked to become the shadow of her elder sister.
Anything that was new belonged to her sister while the old belonged to Ari.
It wasn’t until she started earning did Ari bought a few dresses for herself.
Nicolai rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a bit frustrated. He said to her, “I will buy it for you alright?”
His words were like music to drunk Ari’s ears as she turned to look at him and questioned, “Really? You will?” As she spoke she leaned towards him causing Nicolai to lean back.
This was the first time he was leaning away from a woman, but his mother dearest taught him to never take advantage of a drunk woman. So, here he was, acting like a damn coward.
‘Why am I even here?’ Nicolai questioned. He should have tied her up and thrown her in her apartment. Why in the world would he even try to be a gentleman when he was not one?
“Yes, yes. I will,” Nicolai felt his head throb. He rubbed his eyes and stated, “I will buy it for you, so can we move now everyone is watching us?” He was wearing a mask which made him look a bit more welcoming than usual, but he would rather not be questioned and watched while dragging a drunk woman with him. It would certainly alarm his mother.
The last thing he wanted was to alarm his mother. His mother was a lovely woman, and he loved her to the moon and back, but the woman could be dramatic at times.
And when she started being dramatic, Madam De Luca could give a lecture for hours. He had no desire to hear one.
He looked at Ari and said to her, “So, can we go back to your home now?”

Please say yes. Please say yes… he couldn’t go on anymore.
“Not yet. No,” however, the imaginary Big Brother up there was not enticed by the amount of pain Nicolai had received until now. Ari instead of agreeing refused, leaving a stunned look on Nicolai’s face.
“Why? What do you want now!?” Nicolai questioned, feeling frustrated for the first time in his life. Once, he tried to be helpful just one time and this happened. See if he helped someone in the future now.
“Money, you silly buffoon,” Ari giggled with her hands held in front of her mouth. “You did not give me the money yet.”
