Chapter 99: An exchange of money and body?
Nicolai was speechless. He looked at Ari who looked back at him with a smile on her face. It was clear that she was quite amused by what she said!

“Pallas, you better not drink in the future for your safety,” Nicolai said to Ari. He felt a throb in the back of his neck at the thought of how Ari could so effortlessly, harmlessly and easily ask for money from him when she was drunk.

When she was conscious this woman would think twice before even agreeing to have tea with him. But now she wanted ten million dollars and from her stance, it seemed like she was not going to go back home if he did not give her the money.

Just to confirm, Nicolai asked, “Are you saying that you will not go back without the money?”

To his surprise, Ari actually nodded. She agreed with him!

It only left him in even more shock. This woman… was this frank when she was drunk?

While he was lost in thoughts, Ari had already found the closest ATM. Her eyes brightened, as they were lit with many thoughts. She reached out and clasped Nicolai’s wrist as she pointed to the ATM. “There! We can take the money out from there,” Ari exclaimed as she started dragging Nicolai to the ATM.

And even though Nicolai could have easily made his hand free from Ari’s grip, he did not. He let her drag him to the ATM where Ari pushed him inside the door.

The strangers all watched the two of them, their antics seemed amusing according to others, maybe. Nicolai saw a middle-aged man who looked at him with his grey eyes that were filled with experience and remarked, “Did you make your wife unhappy?”

Wife? Who? Where?

“She is not——” my wife, Nicolai, went to say, but he was interrupted by the middle-aged man. He waved his hand and said to Nicolai, “It’s alright, I get it. Haha, being young and in love is fascinating.”

But we are not in love!

Nicolai felt as if he was going crazy. Why was everyone misunderstanding? He hadn’t even touched Ari in the wrong manner for anyone to think that he and she were a thing.

He did not have a chance to clear the misunderstanding, as Ari pulled him further inside the ATM and pointed at it. She said to him, “Here, you can insert the card here.” She even pointed the slot to him where the card went, very considerately.

Nicolai looked at her, his eyes filled with amusement as well as a hint of teasing. He really wanted to see how this woman would react when she regained consciousness the next morning and realised what she had done all night.

He took out his card from his pocket and was about to put it when he heard Ari gasp.

“What now?” He asked her. Was this another tear show? About how her husband did not love her or how her mother did not like her. Why was she even thinking about them when he was right next to her?

“I need to turn away,” Ari said to him. She then turned on her heels and covered her face before saying, “You can now enter the pin. I promise I will not see, I am an honest woman.”

Nicolai: ??

Does it matter? With her drunkenness, it would be a surprise if she could even remember what happened tonight.

Nicolai sighed before he placed the card in the slot. He then entered the pin on the electronic pad. Once the pin was entered, the machine asked for confirmation and no sooner did Nicolai give it to it, than the sound of dollar bills echoed in the small ATM.

“So much money,” Ari gushed in awe, and her eyes widened before turning small. “I have never seen so much money.”

“It’s only a million,” Nicolai could not take out ten million from an ATM after all. He offered it to her and said, “Now that you have an advance payment, we can go back to your house, right? I will give you the rest of the money once you take a nap and wake up from it.”

After getting the dollar bills in her hands, Ari was much more obedient. She did not make trouble with him and instead let him take her back home. It was a good thing as well because Nicolai did not have his car with him.

He usually drove around the city in it, but this time around he sent it to the service station. Never did he think that he would miss it so much just because it was sent to the service station for a few days.

With Ari being drunk, it was a bit difficult for her to sit still on the motorbike, fortunately, the stack of dollar bills was enough to keep her quiet for now.

So while she was being quiet, Nicolai drove the motorbike as fast as he could. He did not want another repetition of her trying to jump off the bike upon seeing anything interesting.

An hour later, Nicolai arrived at the apartment building. He turned to look at Ari and said to her, “You can come down now.”

“Hmm,” though the woman agreed, she made no move to get down the bike.

“Damn, you have to be kidding me,” Nicolai cursed as he parked the bike on the stand and then hopped down. He then walked over to Ari and curled his arm around her waist before picking her up and putting her down on the floor. However, no sooner did he do that, than Ari leaned towards him. Her eyes filled with daze as she rubbed her face against his chest.

“It feels so hot,” she muttered her complaint to him but Nicolai who was trying his best to stay away from her did not hear a word she said to him. At that moment, his heart was in disarray and to make things even worse, he could feel something hot rise inside his body as well!
