Chapter 2559: The Demon-Killing Sword
“What is going on? The Demon-killing sword is the Artifact God’s master?” one of the many reverends asked, confused by what was happening.
“No, the Artifact God’s master was another Artifact God. He was the one said to have created the Demon-killing sword,” someone else answered. “But it was a failed product that somehow ended up killing its creator. The other gods tried to stop it, and somehow they failed too.”
“But that Demon-killing sword just said it was her master, didn’t it? What does that mean? How can a sword spirit be a human?” someone asked.
“How can a sword spirit take over another person?” someone else asked. “It has been one of the most sought-after mysteries of our world. Since we couldn’t understand how the sword spirit was taking over other people’s bodies, we never could defeat it. And yet… it seems the answer was so obvious. Souls can easily take over other people.”
The few other people there nodded in understanding. What the man had said made sense to them.
“That can’t be,” the Golden God’s grand disciple said. “If the answer was as simple as it being a soul instead of a spirit, our seniors would have long since dealt with it. Did you hear what he just said? He is both. A spirit and a soul. That should be the reason no one has ever managed to kill it at all.”
The people got curious about what was happening. However, none of them worried at all. With the 12 gods all present in this place, it was unlikely that the Demon-killing Sword was going to be able to do anything.

Silvermist brought out a pill from his Soul Space and ate it. His missing arm, as well as the rest of his wounds from the Storm God’s mere dismissal, slowly healed, bringing him back to health.
He looked around and found Grimsight at the edge of the stage, on the ground. He seemed wounded.
Silvermist worried about him. Because of what the man had done to get all of his things, he could no longer heal using Qi. So he would have to rely on the natural healing process of a human body.
That sort of thing took months to heal if it was something like broken bones or torn muscles. If it was something more severe, like missing body parts—such as his one missing eye—then it would never heal.
Was he okay?
However, Silvermist couldn’t worry about that at the moment. He needed to worry about his disciple.
He looked for Alex at the place where he had been thrown from, but he wasn’t there. He searched around and found him embracing the… the Artifact God?
What was happening? And why was his body covered in dark veins?
Something strange had happened in the time he wasn’t there. Just what was going on?

The various gods were surprised at the revelation of who Godslayer really was. There were a few who had fought him and escaped him too. And all this time, they had simply thought of him as a parasite who took over unsuspecting people, corrupted them, and then found its way to the strongest person it could find.
At that point, it would go searching for gods to kill again.
However, no one could have expected that the person doing all of that was, in fact, the Artifact God.
The Storm God frowned, trying to remember back to the days of the war when he first heard the news of the Artifact God’s demise. He was at his Storm Castle, in his realm, preparing for another battle that was going to start soon.
He had long since heard about the Artifact God making his way to the Realm within Realms and had known that he had obtained something there. He had also heard that he was trying to create a sword that had been the idea of the previous Sword God, the one that had been the cause of the conflict between the gods and Godkiller.
It was a sword meant to be something to fight against the Demons, especially the strongest one of them, the Undying God. And yet, the sword had failed. The blade made to kill the demons had instead begun killing gods.
He had always cursed the sword for ending up like this and subsequently cursed the Artifact God for even making the thing. However, with the new information, something changed.
If the spirit within the Demon-killing sword had been that of the Artifact God, then… what exactly had happened?
Furthermore, how had the young Alchemist managed to keep his wits when he had the corrupting force inside of him?
“The young man continues to surprise me,” the Storm God said. “First the Undying God’s inheritance, and now Godslayer. What other secrets does he hold?”
He looked down at the woman who continued shaking as her visions grew wilder in her mind.
“Starsight, tell me. Does the young man truly have to die?”

Alex was surprised to hear what he was hearing. Godslayer… was a god himself? How had he changed? What did he mean by a hybrid?
The explanation of how something like that could happen was beyond him at that moment. He could only ask Godslayer for an explanation, and that would have to wait for a while.
“Godslayer,” Alex said. “You have most of the control. We need to leave this place. They will kill us.”
“No,” Godslayer said with confidence. “Together, we’re strong. We can handle this.”
Alex didn’t believe they were. How strong could Godslayer really be using the body of a mere Immortal? He would have to be at least a Divine Realm cultivator before he could fight the gods, surely.
“Besides, I need to kill that man.”
Godslayer released his disciple and held her face, wiping her tears. “I’m sorry for leaving you alone all these years, little Shen. I was mad and had lost myself in my own rage and pain. But no more.”
“I won’t let myself fall back to who I was. Once I have killed the God who forced me to become who I am now, I will have no more need for my name.”
