Chapter 2562: Pain Showers From the Sky
The Artifact God wanted to help her master, but the Beast God distracted her. She wanted other gods to come help her, but no one at that moment wanted to do anything.
All stood watching the battle, as if witnessing some sort of entertainment instead of a battle of life and death.
Not even the Alchemy God did anything to stop the Sword God when he had been so adamant about saving Alex previously.
The Sword God’s domain formed with thousands of copies of his Creation. The purple sword was more than just a sword. It had an effect to it that only showed when it touched a person’s flesh. Upon coming into contact with the purple sword, it hurt the person a lot. When the sword cut the person, the pain intensified multiple folds.
Within the 50-meter-wide domain that had formed around Godslayer, the swords were impossible to dodge against as they moved around unpredictably and ended up slicing Godslayer a few too many times.
Godslayer grimaced in pain, and so did Alex. It was clear that they were outmatched in this regard. They needed to run away from this fight. There was no victory to be found here.
With each slice, the pain got worse. But both of them managed to withstand it. They had been hurt before. They had felt pain before. It was a lot more than ever before, but they could handle it.
Each cut also drew away Qi from Alex, using it to heal him. Slowly, they were being stripped of their Qi too.
“Godslayer, we need to find a way out of this situation,” Alex said.
“Not until I kill this man.”
“But—”
“No, I must kill him!” Godslayer shouted. “He’s right there. I can reach him. I just need more power. I will draw more.”
“What will happen to me?” Alex asked.
“I’ll stop before I go too far. I promise,” Godslayer said.
Alex didn’t stop him. It was clear what Godslayer wanted, and he trusted the sword spirit—no, the Artifact God—to not go too far now.
Unlike previously when he obsessed over the death of all gods, this time he obsessed over just the single one.
The Sword God.
The Sword God had dominated the battle from the start, and while Godslayer had lasted throughout it, it was more accurate to say that he had survived. It was unclear how much longer he would continue to survive.
As Godslayer pulled more from Alex’s body to empower himself, Alex was pushed further away from the surface of his consciousness, giving up more reign over his body to Godslayer.
Godslayer would become stronger at this rate, but he would begin to lack the skills that Alex had. He would have to fight without them.
The pain that Godslayer had shared with Alex was now fully his. He was responsible for his body in its entirety.
Godslayer understood that he was the weaker fighter here, but with the energy he drew from Alex, surely he could win.
Unlike the Sword God, who had to kill him a hundred times for him to stay dead, Godslayer needed to kill him just once. And for that, Godslayer gathered as much energy as he could muster from within himself and from Alex.
“You thought you could win?” the Sword God asked, surrounded by the many purple swords. Inside his domain, he was its master.
The only way to undo someone else’s domain was to establish a domain of their own or use Intent to push its effects back.
Godslayer did not have a strong enough Intent to push back against the domain of the god. All he could do was accept the pain and still fight.
“It’s time for us to end this, Purplerain,” Godslayer said.
Purplerain stood tall within his domain and simply nodded. “You are right. Let us end this.”
Once Godslayer drained everything inside Alex for this single attack, he swung his blade. The Sword God used his technique at the same time as well.
God Rending Death Blade.

Showering Pain.
Godslayer released a large black slash, stronger than any before. It devoured light itself in its path, making its way toward the Sword God.
The Sword God gathered all the flying swords within his domain and collected them at one point in the sky. When ready, he let the thousands of purple swords rain down all at once.
The swords cut through the black slash as it flew toward the Sword God. Each clash shook the sky, and each clash tore the space around them. Reality fractured around those attacks, letting void bleed into the world.
Even after all that, the black slash continued.
The Sword God had underestimated its strength. The thousand falling swords weren’t strong enough to block this one attack that had drained everything from within Alex.
The black slash landed on the Sword God beyond the thousand explosions, surely causing a great deal of damage. The cacophony of sound and explosive lights, however, made it difficult to tell if he had killed the god or not.
At the very least, the domain of sword and pain around him was gone.
Godslayer was extremely tired from using the one attack, but he had to make sure he had killed him. As he prepared to move to where the Sword God was, the Sword God himself appeared right before him, all bloodied, with a large gash on his shoulder.
His sudden arrival panicked Godslayer, who immediately retaliated with a sword strike that held no power in it at all. In fact, there was little energy remaining in Alex’s body.
In the close range, the Sword God chose to swing back with all the fury he had gathered over the course of this battle.
The two swords clashed: one a creation of the Sword God accompanied by his energy, and the other a weapon created by a Saint with nothing to give to it.
It was clear who would win.
The Sword God’s blade cleaved through Midnight, instantly shattering it, and continued on as it cut Godslayer in half as well.
