“She appears to be a fragile woman; I can’t believe she’s connected to those powerful individuals,” one man frowned, casting a wary glance at her.

“I was defeated by those men that day, and my wounds haven’t healed yet,” another man gritted his teeth in hatred, glaring at her.

Though Shenlian Yingyue listened intently, she struggled to comprehend their conversations.

Who exactly were the ‘those men’ they referred to?

Just as her confusion deepened, someone entered the room.

“Greetings, boss!” they all bowed respectfully, addressing the man.

“Did you catch them?” he asked.

But all of our people sent to deal with them are dead,” the man reported stiffly.

Shenlian Yingyue could sense that the moment the man delivered his report to the ‘boss,’ the air around them grew more suffocating and malevolent.

“Who are these two?” Contrary to their expectation that the ‘boss’ would be furious, he asked another question.

“This woman appeared several days ago in X City.

As soon as she arrived with three other men, a series of chaotic events unfolded in this city.

We suspect she is connected to the upheaval.

We checked her background and the information on the man with her, but found nothing.” Shenlian Yingyue was taken aback by how astute they were.

Was this why they were trying to capture her?

“Wake them up!” the ‘boss’ commanded coldly.

Her gaze settled on the ‘boss,’ revealing the plain face of a bald man.

He lounged in a black chair, smoking a cigarette.

Xie Xie lowered his head.

Others thought he was scared and sneered in disdain, but in reality, he simply didn’t want to disrupt the master’s plan and regarded them with indifference.

It turned out that Xiao Li, Feng Huang, Tian Tian, Lu Long, and Xiao Qiu had fought off a group of gangsters outside an antique store.

This group of gangsters was revealed to be subordinates of the most powerful mafia boss in China.

Initially, they had intended to teach Xiao Li and his friends a lesson, making their lives worse than death.
