At first, Shenlian Yingyue didn’t know who it was.

But soon, she got her answer.

One day, in the fourth month, while she was checking the ice sheets and glaciers in Antarctica, she suddenly heard a loud crash and sensed the powerful energy behind the ice wall.

Curious, she went to investigate, wanting to see if anyone needed her help.

Silently, she went to close their eyes and snapped her fingers to ignite their corpses, releasing a shower of petals around the area.

The purple flames bloomed beautifully in the night, but the owner of the flames felt suffocated in her chest.

Shenlian Yingyue did not burn the corpses of the researchers and left them on this cold icefield.

The light of the moon that night felt dark and gloomy, as if the moon were tired of witnessing humanity’s cruelty.

“I came here to search for artifacts, but what I heard were the screams of these children and animals.

I tried to save them, but I was a second too late,” Huang Bai Xing’s voice was extremely light.  He wasn’t a good person, and he despised being dragged into trouble.

He had always looked down on getting involved in other people’s lives, but somehow, he couldn’t ignore the cries of these pitiful souls.

“You avenged them,” Shenlian Yingyue’s voice was low; her throat felt sore, as if something was stuck inside.

Her eyes were red and devoid of tears, filled only with emptiness.  It wasn’t that she didn’t feel sorry and pained for the loss of these pure souls; rather, the pain was so overwhelming that it left her feeling hollow.

Throughout the night, neither of them spoke.

Huang Bai Xing remembered that this woman hated the smell of blood, so he went into his portable space to wash himself and changed into a clean white robe.

When he emerged from the space, he found her body on the snowfield.  He guessed that she must have fallen asleep just before he came out of his portable space, which explained why her men and companions hadn’t arrived to help her.

Shenlian Yingyue had succumbed to sleep.

It seemed that her mental state had plummeted after witnessing so many horrific things in the past until now, consuming all her energy.

Huang Bai Xing waved his hand, and a large tent appeared.

He hesitated for a moment but then bent down to pick up Shenlian Yingyue and placed her on the soft bed inside the tent.
