Chapter 814: Being Helpless In Shen Xian’s Game
“Not everyone can awaken the true power of the mirror. Even the esteemed deities of the Tuzi Clan have found themselves powerless before it; none of their ancestors have succeeded in earning its recognition—save for one, the original Goddess and the forebear of the Tuzi bloodline. She alone harnessed the essence of this mirror.” As these words echoed, Run Chu narrowed her delicate phoenix eyes, fixing her gaze on Shenlian Yingyue with a hint of skepticism.
Shi Ji’s watchful eyes lingered on her as well.
“It seems unlikely that I am the Goddess you speak of. Plus, I do not belong to the Tuzi Clan,” Shenlian Yingyue replied, a calm conviction in her voice that left a few of the gathered individuals momentarily speechless, their suspicions fading.
Her demeanor gave no indication of deceit.
“Demon King Shi, could you give us a moment?” Run Chu directed her request at the unmoving figure of Shi Ji.
“I cannot comply, Concubine Run. The emperor specifically commanded that I bring this individual here,” Shi Ji replied with an impassive tone.
Run Chu’s expression shifted subtly; she pressed a hand against her chest, tender from her earlier attack, her eyes flashing with jealousy.
Shenlian Yingyue felt a bead of sweat trace down her brow. She desperately wanted to reassure Run Chu that she had no ties to Shen Xian and that she was not a rival for her affections.
“Come with me,” Shi Ji instructed tersely, beckoning for Shenlian Yingyue.
As the two figures ventured through the sprawling corridors of the palace, Run Chu’s breath caught in her throat, filled with indignation, watching them fade from view.
“Show yourself!”
Once Shenlian Yingyue and Shi Ji had disappeared, Run Chu coldly commanded, her gaze fixated on a shadowy corner.
A tall, slender silhouette emerged, its presence unmistakably familiar.
“What if we allied to seize the mirror from that woman?” the figure suggested, glimmering with ambition. Her fluffy ears twitched with eagerness.
“Concubine Xiao, when did you arrive?” Run Chu questioned, her tone laced with gloom.
“I just returned from delivering that person to his majesty. It seems the emperor is quite taken with him, showering him with attention after his discussions with the clan elders,” Concubine Xiao grinned wickedly, keenly aware of the murderous aura emanating from Run Chu.
Xiao Meng, known as Concubine Xiao, was a cunning demonic cat from the Xiao Clan. She accompanied Shen Xian during a visit to the Crimson Crane Auction Pavilion in Golden City, located in the Inner Domain of the Spiritual Continent. (Ch. 365)
Later, in chapter 406, Shen Xian directed Xiao Meng to safeguard Tai Hua Lei, escorting him to a secluded training location.
As Run Chu caught sight of Xiao Meng, she sensed a challenge simmering beneath the surface, prompting a scoff from her lips. “What would a mere mortal be doing in the Demon Realm?” She interpreted Xiao Meng’s gaze as an attempt to provoke her into dealing with Tai Hua Lei, a dangerous game that could end badly for her. Everyone in the Demon Realm understood the significance of Tai Hua Lei in the eyes of the Demon Emperor.
Xiao Meng felt her heartbeat quicken under the intense scrutiny of Run Chu’s piercing red eyes. She was acutely aware that this woman was both intelligent and formidable.
“Concubine Run, why don’t we set aside our differences for now? Aren’t you interested in the Bunny Goddess Mirror?” Xiao Meng masked her jealousy and resentment with a bright smile, attempting to redirect the conversation.
Run Chu offered a sly smile as she approached closer, her lips mere inches from Xiao Meng’s ear. In a hushed tone, she uttered words that sent a chill through Xiao Meng, “Greedy fool, brainless.”
Without waiting for a response, Run Chu left, leaving Xiao Meng to grapple with the weight of her words.
Despite her greed, Xiao Meng realized she was not foolish. Run Chu’s taunt struck her like a thunderbolt. Whoever possessed the Bunny Goddess Mirror was undoubtedly not an ordinary individual. If she planned to eliminate that individual (Yueyue) and seize the mirror, she needed to unearth the woman’s true identity first.
Unbeknownst to Shenlian Yingyue, two women were conspiring against her. Even if she were aware, she wouldn’t concern herself with such plots; her sole focus was on rescuing her master from Shen Xian’s clutches.
As she made her way through the vibrant realm, numerous demons and palace attendants regarded her with silence and respect, adhering to their roles without interference.
Shi Ji had left her standing alone in the grand throne hall, then vanished without a trace.
Shenlian Yingyue surveyed the lavish throne hall, taken aback by its opulence. Each detail was meticulously crafted; from the polished, high-quality floorboards to the intricately designed ceilings overhead. Even the most commonplace vase, holding demonic blooms, was worth hundreds of purple-grade spirit stones—an extravagant display of wealth.
“Mortal woman, you’ve been quite audacious lately,” a voice resonated in the grand chamber, and a tall figure materialized on the jade throne.
Shen Xian reclined languidly on the throne, gazing down at her with a patronizing air, as if she were merely a subordinate in his presence.

“Return my master to me,” Shenlian Yingyue declared without hesitation, her tone direct and unwavering.
“Hmmm? Why not take a seat first?” Shen Xian chuckled, elegantly sipping wine from the hand of one of his male concubines.
To her surprise, she noticed the sudden presence of numerous strikingly attractive male and female demons surrounding the throne. It was clear that Shen Xian had a preference; only the male concubines were permitted to approach him, while the female concubines, clad in revealing garments, stood like decorative vases arrayed throughout the hall.
Shenlian Yingyue paid little mind to the spectacle; her focus remained on her objective.
However, Shen Xian, sensing her disinterest, regarded her with narrowed, intrigued eyes. He waved his hand, and two alluring male concubines flanked Shenlian Yingyue.
Just as she prepared to evade their advances, she found herself immobilized by an unseen spell. A sense of dread washed over her, prompting her to sever her connection to the Ethereal Small World.
Moments later, she realized she was in a precarious predicament, her body ensnared by the powerful arms of the two male concubines. One of them had positioned himself behind her, his warm breath tickling her ear as he tightened his grip around her delicate waist, drawing her form against his muscular chest. The other, with deft fingers, traced pathways along her slender neck, leaning in to press a soft kiss against her skin.
Shen Xian’s eyes glimmered with delight as he reveled in the unfolding scene.
Though fury simmered within her for both Shen Xian and his male companions, Shenlian Yingyue maintained an impassive expression, her face betraying none of the emotion churning inside her. She attempted to channel her spiritual power to escape but to no avail.
