Chapter 832: Cracking The Formation At The Cave Of Destruction
Setting the humor aside, they always managed to create a vibrant atmosphere even in the midst of seriousness, just to lift her spirits. They would rather not seeing her wearing a constant frown.
As soon as they arrived at the entrance Cave of Destruction, they were met with a barrier that obstructed their passage.
After examining it closely, they realized that attempting to destroy it with brute force would trigger the dangers lurking within, and Shenlian Yingyue was hesitant to do so, uncertain whether her master was trapped inside.
Xiao Yun possessed the unique ability to bypass this barrier, as well as any other barriers throughout the world. No one envied him; instead, they respected him deeply for his remarkable skill. He ventured inside first to assess the situation within.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group busied themselves searching for a way to dismantle the barrier.
“This isn’t merely a barrier; it’s a formation crafted by powerful individuals to contain what lies beyond,” Jun Mu Yang observed and explained. “This is a high-tier heaven formation, a type that only the most skilled Heavenly Formation Masters could create.”
Shenlian Yingyue, having studied various formations and arrays, comprehended that masters in this discipline were exceedingly rare. There were few authoritative figures in the world when it came to formation mastery.
In the Mortal World, one of the nine sects in the Inner Domain, the Xingcheng sect was renowned for attracting numerous array and formation experts. All cultivators keen on mastering formation techniques would flock to their gates.
Initially, she found some information, as she was in a fantasy world—the Book of Heaven. From her readings, she learned that after the cataclysmic battles between Immortals and other races centuries ago, the knowledge of formation and array crafting had been lost, buried with the fallen masters of those ancient times.
Later, while investigating the Xingcheng sect in the Mortal Realm, she discovered that their most powerful ancestor could only arrange medium-tier spiritual formations. Nonetheless, these medium-tier arrays were potent enough to threaten the lives of cultivators in the Combination Period.
Across the Yellow Planet, the number of truly powerful array masters was minimal; the most skilled could manage only the advanced-tier spiritual formations.
Now facing such a high-tier heaven formation, even a formidable Golden Immortal would need to tread carefully, uncertain about the nature of the formation.
If it turned out to be a killing formation, the situation could become dire.
“A’Yang, do you think you can break this formation?” she inquired gently, mindful that her understanding of arrays and formations was limited; her expertise lay only in superior-tier ones.
“I can manage it, but it will take some time,” Jun Mu Yang replied with determination, stepping closer to the cave’s entrance.
The others settled in to meditate, some discussing strategies to gather treasures from within, while Xie Xie and Bing Xue remained vigilant, surveying their surroundings.
“Husband, please take your time, I can wait.” she cautioned, noticing the pallor on his face. She tenderly wiped the sweat from his brow and offered him some Spiritual Water.
“It’s alright, my wife; I just need to channel more spiritual energy,” he reassured her with a warm smile, leaning in to steal a kiss and embrace her. This brief moment of intimacy reignited his strength, allowing him to work with renewed vigor.
Everyone chose to overlook the flirtatious behaviour as they rolled their eyes.
Formation differed significantly from an array. While an array was a singular setup, a formation represented a large-scale, intricate system of various arrays working in concert. It was more expansive and potent than a mere array, necessitating the cooperation of multiple individuals, objects, or energy sources to sustain, organize, and decipher.
“Yue’er, come here, let’s not disturb him. Aren’t you curious about the type of pill I just gave you? I’ll teach you how to make it,” Shenlian Yinzhu said as he gently took her hand, leading her away from the man with the wolf-like claw.
Jun Mu Yang paid no mind to his brother-in-law’s antics, keeping his focus on his task.
Once again, everyone exchanged exasperated glances. They all consumed pills together, yet the master’s brother completely ignored their experience with the pills.
Zhiyi smiled lightly, yet one could see that there were vague cyan blue veins popping on his flawless forehead.
Xie Xie moved silently to her side, positioning himself protectively behind her, while Bing Xue instinctively leaned closer as she concentrated on the texts and an array of ingredients Shenlian Yinzhu was displaying.
Shenlian Yingyue was wholly engrossed in her studies, oblivious to her surroundings. The presence of her companions provided a comforting layer of silent support amidst the tension, and she trusted them completely.
An hour later, Jun Mu Yang successfully cracked the formation. It was evident that he had invested considerable effort into it.
If the formation masters who had labored for ten hours to set up this array were aware that Jun Mu Yang had dismantled it in just one hour, they would have been left aghast, overwhelmed with fury and embarrassment.
Without wasting time, the group pressed forward. The moment the formation was breached, Xiao Yun appeared, his expression grave.
“Yunyun, what’s the matter?” she inquired, filled with concern.

“Master, we need to hurry! He’s in danger!” Xiao Yun urged urgently.
In an instant, everyone dashed inside. The murderous aura and oppressive gloom enveloped the entirety of the cave as they entered. The space resembled a long tunnel, and they swiftly traversed it until they arrived at a more expansive cavern.
It felt as if they had stepped into the heart of a mountain cave. The sight before them was horrifying; blood splattered across the walls, turning the rock a dark crimson. The nauseating, metallic scent of fresh blood nearly overwhelmed them.
At the center of the cave, a swirling black vortex loomed ominously. Even from a distance, it felt suffocating; no one dared to imagine the terror of approaching it, as their hearts raced in fear. Corpses of jumbled demonic beasts and humans spiraled around the vortex, while severed limbs and broken bones littered the ground.
Near the vortex stood a man dressed in a ragged pale-pink robe, gripping the neck of a figure whose face was obscured with blood, rendering them unidentifiable. Beneath his feet lay a heap of corpses, with some still clinging to life but trapped within the pile, struggling for breath.
Surrounding him were more than twenty men donned in ornate robes, wielding formidable weapons pointed menacingly at him.
Shenlian Yingyue’s eyes widened in shock.
