Chapter 839: How Illusion Formation Work
[Demon Realm, Cave of Destruction]
Xiong Zi Yong positioned himself next to her, observing the torturous scene orchestrated by Shenlian Yingyue and her partners with a cold, unwavering gaze.
“A’Yang, I’m planning to create an illusionary fantasy formation to ensnare them in a timeless prison. There are three Heavenly Formation Masters among them. Their skills are remarkably high; if they attempt to dismantle any formation I design, it won’t be long before they succeed. However, I have an idea,” she stated, her finger indicating three individuals within the twenty captured. While he listened intently, she leaned closer to him, whispering her plan in his ear.
“So, this is your brilliant idea, my beloved wife? Fear not; your husband shall assist you. I promise that these individuals shall face the consequences of their actions,” Jun Mu Yang teased, playfully pinching her cheeks before stealing a kiss from her lips. He then cupped her face, showering her with tender kisses, from her delicate eyebrows to her lovely nose, beautiful eyes, and charming lips.
The others drew nearer to the couple, with Xiong Zi Yong among them. Surrounding them with a spiritual barrier to isolate the scene from the outside world, they focused intently on her strategy.
“I need to trap them in this formation for five years. To ensure the prisoners remain unaware that they are imprisoned, we must be clever,” she stated, a layer of intrigue enveloping her expression.
“You’ve kept my master captive for two years. Now, I want you to experience the anguish he endured. Whether you make it out alive depends entirely on your own capabilities. I will not be held accountable for any demonic entities that may pay you a visit out of boredom,” she said, crouching beside them and letting her chilling words send shivers down their spines.
“Wretch! You deceived us! You promised that if we provided valuable treasures and confessed our sins, you would set us free!”
“You deceitful harpy! You’re a terrible liar!”
“When did I ever promise your release?” Shenlian Yingyue questioned calmly, her composure contrasting sharply with their frantic, desperate reactions, which only intensified their feelings of shame.
Despite their relentless curses, she remained unfazed, watching them with a patient gaze as they hurled their insults.
An hour passed, and they found themselves hoarse, their throats raw from shouting and screaming. They glanced at her; she was still there, unyielding and attentive to their vitriol.
They had believed themselves superior, able to crush any weaker beings beneath their feet. Yet today, they were brought low, and even before their tormentors, they felt like worthless beings sharing the same air. This woman and her companions seemed ethereal, as if they descended from a higher realm, imbued with nobility, grace, and an air of calm that eluded them.
Though younger, she possessed a steadiness of spirit far beyond their own; it felt as though their words had no effect on her. Lowering their heads in defeat, they struggled with feelings of shame, regret, pain, and anger.
“Your bald heads suit you splendidly,” she said with a smirk, a simple remark that unleashed a torrent of rage, causing some to choke on their own blood and lose consciousness.
Xiao Yum and the others erupted into laughter.
“Don’t pass out just yet; I should remind you of something. These chains binding you are the Divine Chains. No spiritual power can penetrate them. You can’t even summon help through your divine sense unless you break these chains,” she declared, rising gracefully, brushing off her elegant purple Hanfu, and striding away.
Those who remained conscious stared wide-eyed, disbelief etched on their faces. They strained against their bonds, but the effort was in vain.
They had planned to escape and call for reinforcements from their clan, to report the indignity they had suffered. Such humiliation could not stand! They would not let this woman and her associates walk free. Yet now, their schemes lay shattered.
Their storage rings had been stripped away, leaving them powerless and penniless.
With their divine senses shackled, they felt like lambs destined for slaughter.
“Just another friendly reminder: your mission has been a failure. You’ve been trounced like tofu, stripped of all your former pride and arrogance. Even if you inform your clan, know that you will not receive the same treatment as before. You’ve brought shame upon your clan, losing to a group of unknowns from a lowly planet,” she called over her shoulder as she exited the cave, flanked by her companions and Xiong Zi Ying.
A fresh wave of despair washed over them. Endless torment awaited: both night and day they were subjected to torment, their flesh healed only to be reopened, their hair grew back just to be shorn away again. This cycle of suffering threatened to dismantle their sanity.
Out in the real world, Shenlian Yingyue, her companions, and Xiong Zi Ying stood silently outside the formation, their faces betraying no emotion as they observed the chaos unfolding within.
They had no desire to linger and play the role of torturers. Time and energy were precious; they wouldn’t squander them.
Instead, Shenlian Yingyue led her companions and her master out of the Cave of Destruction.
“In truth, Xiao Yue’er, you remain too kind-hearted,” Shenlian Sheshan remarked, affectionately ruffling her hair. The gesture was gentle, akin to petting a rabbit.
Shenlian Yingyue frowned slightly, “What do you mean by that, Uncle Shan?”
“You possess countless options for inflicting torment, yet you chose to let them be. If they can come to terms with their errors and seek to better themselves, their hearts will find peace. They will soon understand that they are trapped in an illusion, one that arises from the fears and nightmares harbored within their souls. Their dread of suffering like your master made them ensnared in this cycle, unable to recognize that their own thoughts have shaped this illusion and the pain within it,” Shenlian Sheshan explained, his gaze tender.
“Once they confront their remorse, they could break free from this trap, emerging with newfound strength and insight. However, if they cling to malevolent intentions, they will descend into darkness, losing their cultivation. You’ve given them precisely what they deserved, allowing them to experience the consequences of their actions, yet you’ve held back from taking their lives. You maintain your humanity, refusing to tread the same cruel paths they did, even while seeking vengeance,” he continued, his eyes unwavering on her.

The others listened intently, admiration blossoming in their eyes.
Even Xiong Zi Ying regarded her with a deeper understanding.
“Uncle Shan, please don’t hold me too high in regard. I spared their lives because I recognize that there are fates worse than death. I don’t want those above targeting my master’s loved ones. Their lives remain under the control of those higher powers; I cannot afford to act recklessly. Furthermore, I believe it’s not my place to decide their outcomes. Their fates lie in my master’s hands. In the future, it will be for my master to determine their destinies,” Shenlian Yingyue replied softly as she turned away, continuing on her path.
