Chapter 292: Chapter 292 Forbidden Fruit
“Do it!” Iris said at last. She really didn’t have a choice. If Ross could truly perform a miracle and save her husband, this would be her final sacrifice for Karl before everything fell apart.
“Done,” Ross replied a heartbeat later.
“You’re joking, right? You can’t just—” Iris began incredulously, but the sharp ring of her phone from her purse interrupted her. She fumbled to pick it up, answering before the third ring.
“Yes, Maddie? What’s wrong?” Iris asked, standing up. She moved away from Ross, retreating into the corner of the room. As her daughter Madeline spoke, Iris’s expression shifted to one of disbelief.
Five minutes later, she ended the call and turned back to Ross, her face pale and her eyes wide with shock.
“How… How did you do it? Who are you?” Iris stammered. Goosebumps prickled her skin as a chilling realization dawned on her.
Ross had the power to induce a stroke and coma thousands of miles away—and then reverse it just as easily. For the first time, Iris understood that she was utterly out of her depth.
“I am a man of my word,” Ross said smoothly, his tone as casual as if he were discussing the weather.
“And I despise betrayal above all else. So, Iris, make sure you uphold your end of the bargain. You still have loved ones—your precious daughters, Madeline and Alicia. If you run now, I might find it… worthwhile to turn my attention to them instead.”
His words were soft, almost offhanded, but the threat they carried was unmistakable. Iris trembled, her entire body betraying the terror coursing through her. She knew he wasn’t bluffing.
“I understand,” Iris said, taking a deep breath to steady herself.
“Good. Leave a message for your husband—we’re leaving now. LA is waiting for us,” Ross replied, standing up without waiting for her response.
“What?” Iris began, but Ross had already exited the room.
Barely a minute later, the pilot’s voice came over the intercom, announcing that the plane was ready for takeoff.
“God, help me. Give me strength,” Iris whispered, her voice trembling. In the end, all she could manage was a simple prayer as the plane lifted off toward LA.

Seven hours later, the private plane descended smoothly onto the runway in Los Angeles.
Iris gazed out of the window as the sprawling city stretched endlessly before her, the glow of its lights shimmering like a sea of stars.
The flight had been a whirlwind of introductions, conversations, and unexpected camaraderie.
Iris had been introduced to the other women, and Jasmine quickly took a liking to her.
It was an easy bond; they were the only real blondes in Ross’s harem, which seemed to create an unspoken connection.
As the hours passed, the women couldn’t hide their astonishment when Iris casually mentioned her age.
“You’re 45?!” Jasmine had exclaimed, her disbelief echoed by the others.
Iris smiled, brushing a stray strand of hair behind her ear. “I’ve been told I don’t look my age.”
“Don’t look your age? You look like you’re in your late 20s at most,” Jade chimed in, her tone admiring.
The conversation naturally deepened from there. Jade, at 43, and Reina, at 38, quickly found common ground with Iris, their ages close enough to make the connection feel natural.
They shared stories, laughter, and even a few confessions. By the time the plane landed, Iris felt a sense of belonging she hadn’t expected, despite the bizarre circumstances.
Ross, however, was all business as they disembarked. He clapped his hands lightly, drawing everyone’s attention.
“Okay, girls. Here’s the plan,” he began, his tone decisive. “Althea and I are heading to her house. I don’t want to shock her family by showing up with all of you at once, so you’ll go to the casino for now. Have some fun, play some games. I’ll catch up with you later.”
The women exchanged glances, their excitement bubbling under the surface. But before they could react, Ross handed each of them a sleek black card preloaded with $100 million.

“What… is this?” Iris asked, staring at the card as if it might bite her.
“Spending money,” Ross said nonchalantly, already heading for his car.
The women stood frozen for a moment, processing the sheer absurdity of it.
A hundred million dollars each?
Even Iris, who had quickly realized Ross operated on an entirely different scale of wealth, was stunned.
Jasmine let out a laugh, breaking the silence. “Well, if this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up.”
As the women filed into the luxurious RV Ross had arranged for them, Iris glanced back at him. He was already sliding into the driver’s seat of a gleaming sports car, Althea by his side.
The drive to Althea’s family home was slow, the LA traffic crawling as usual. Ross didn’t seem bothered, his attention focused on the road and Althea.
“So, tell me about your parents,” he said, glancing at her with a smile. “What are they like?”
Althea’s face lit up at the question.
“They’re wonderful people,” she said, her voice warm.
“My mom is the sweetest, most loving person you could ever meet. She’s doting and kind, always putting everyone else first. My dad, though… he’s different. Strict, a man of few words. But when he speaks, everyone listens. It’s like he has this presence that commands respect.”
Ross nodded, intrigued.
“Sounds like a man who knows how to handle himself.”
“He does,” Althea agreed. “They’re incredible in business but even better as investors. They’ve built franchises with major chains like Burger King, KFC, McDonald’s—you name it. They’ve mastered the art of turning opportunities into gold. I know you’ll love them.”
Ross chuckled.
“Sounds like I’ve got big shoes to fill.”
“You’ll be fine,” Althea said confidently, placing a hand on his arm. “They’ll love you.”
Ross’s gaze softened, but before he could respond, Althea continued, her tone growing more serious.
“Thank you for doing this, Ross,” she said. “For taking the time to meet them, to make this effort. You’re fair, incredible, and one of a kind. Even if lifetimes passed between us, you hadn’t change at all.”
Ross’s lips twitched into a smile, but Althea wasn’t finished. She bit her lip, a playful glint in her eye.
“For everything you’ve done for me, it’s only fair that I do something nice for you in return,” she added, her voice dropping slightly.
Ross raised an eyebrow, curiosity flashing across his face.
“What are you g—ohhhhh… I see,” he said, trailing off as realization dawned.
Althea leaned closer, her hands busy as her lips curled into a mischievous smile. Ross couldn’t help but laugh, the sound filling the car as the traffic inched forward.
Several minutes later, lewd sucking sounds could be heard in the air and Ross was not one to complain also.
