Chapter 199: Chapter 199 Advanced?
[Evolution Points: 121]
“It’s in three digits!”
Even though he had expected it, seeing the number still filled Michael with excitement.
This was only the second time his evolution points had accumulated to three digits.
The first time had been when he had essentially turned himself into a drug addict, consuming dozens of spirit liquids.
Back then, the number of evolution points he gained had been more than double this.
But the difference was that this time, he had obtained them naturally—without any external influence.
“With 50 undead, as long as I don’t miss any of them, I should be gaining 50 evolution points per day. In a month, that would be at least 1,500 evolution points. With that kind of accumulation, not only can all my undead reach at least the rare rank, but having a few extraordinary-rank creatures wouldn’t be impossible either.”
The thought thrilled Michael, but he didn’t dwell on it for long.
Instead, he immediately turned to the list of undead he could evolve.
The moment the screen appeared, his eyes went straight to the undead he had been keeping an eye on.
This was why he had let his evolution points accumulate in the first place.
Otherwise, he would have already spent them on evolving his high-level undead to get more rank 2 creatures or enhancing a few special undead he was particularly curious about.
His gaze locked onto the entries, and a wild smile spread across his lips.

Though he had suspected there was a chance he would finally be able to evolve his human undead, there had always been an underlying uncertainty.
Unlike his other undead, these human ones didn’t have a rank to determine their potential.
That strange characteristic had made him question whether even a three-digit evolution point count would be enough.
If it hadn’t been, it would have been both frustrating and intriguing.
Frustrating, because it would mean another delay.
Intriguing, because it would raise even more questions about just what kind of evolution required such an absurd amount of points.
Now, however, there was no need for speculation.
He could finally evolve them.
Without hesitation, Michael brought out the human undead mage from his storage space.
The undead stood still, unmoving, waiting for its master’s command.
After sparing a glance at his undead, Michael immediately started the evolution process.

[Evolve Undead Human Mage for 100 Evolution Points?]
“Hmmm.” Michael glanced at the screen in front of him in contemplation.
Usually, when evolving his other undead, he would see a hint of what they were evolving into, including their rank—provided he had enough evolution points.
However, this time, the screen only displayed the required evolution points, keeping him completely in the dark about what would happen next.
“I suppose I should have expected something like this from the start. It had no rank indicator right from the get-go, so it makes sense that it wouldn’t appear even after evolution.”
Michael only thought about this for a moment before pushing it to the back of his mind.
He then checked his other human undead and saw that, despite their weaker strength compared to the human mage, they required the same amount of evolution points.
It puzzled him, but it also intrigued him.
“Whatever the case may be, I’ll find out after it evolves.”
With that thought, he mentally chose to evolve his undead.
As he watched his evolution points drop by 100, a piercing scream of pain that erupted from his undead.
The sheer volume of the scream made Michael frown slightly.
Fortunately, they were in the middle of nowhere, so this level of environmental disturbance was acceptable.
“Good thing I chose to leave the capital. This would have definitely caused an issue.”
During his exploration, Michael had come across numerous inns and could have easily stayed in one of them—even the more luxurious ones—since he had money now.
However, his experience with evolving undead had taught him a few things.
Michael observed the evolving undead in front of him with great focus.
Just in case something unexpected happened, he had positioned himself at a safe distance. But with his exceptional eyesight, it was as if he were standing right in front of it.
Still, the light that accompanied undead evolution always puzzled him.
Although he hadn’t tested it out yet, he knew that even if someone were to shine several bright lights at him, he would still be able to see clearly—even without relying on his special senses.
But the light from evolution was different.
Though he could still make out some details, whether he was close or far, trying to see more reminded him of when he was still normal, and someone had suddenly flashed a bright light in his eyes.
Michael continued observing carefully.
However, the more he watched, the more confused he became.
For one, the evolution period was far longer than most of his undead, aside from when Lucky evolved into an Extraordinary One-Star creature.
Two, there was no change in body size.
If it weren’t for the fact that the mana level coming from the undead was increasing—reaching a level that amazed Michael—he would have thought this evolution was a failed one.
Michael continued waiting.
Moments later, the evolution finally ended, and Michael could now see what had happened to his undead.
[Your Undead Human Mage has evolved and advanced into an Undead High Human Mage.]
[Your undead has grown significantly stronger.]
[Your undead’s affinity with its elements has increased significantly.]
And that was all…
“That’s it?”
“Its rank didn’t even advance, and it didn’t learn any new skills.”
Michael felt confused and was about to get angry, thinking he might have been scammed, when a certain realization struck him.
“Its race has changed?”
