“You are saying the Supremes lose their name when they become Supreme because they are no longer ‘I’ and instead became ‘We’?” Nameless Death asked.

“Yes,” the demon said. “We demons, unlike everyone else, still remember the original names of Supremes, but saying that name aloud would bring great danger to anybody who hears their name.”

“I see,” Nameless Death nodded.

Seeing that he had understood, the demon decided to continue, but before that, it glanced at Zagreus.

It was important that Nameless Death knew all of this information. Knowing the ‘Berserker’s’ abilities would help them fight him next time.

Zagreus knew this and he agreed that they should explain everything to Nameless Death, especially now that they were in a partnership.

But there was no way Zagreus could talk about his mother’s—Persephone—knowing how she had ended up.

Even if this story wasn’t related to it, it reminded him of her nonetheless, and brought him great sadness, which was why the demon was the one explaining it.

“After the King and the Queen were killed in the invasion, the dwarven faction took in Persephone and the Blessed of Death.”

“Under the influence of the dwarves, Persephone grew into a powerful who could control souls, life, and under specific conditions boost evolution progress.

“As for Blessed of Death….”

The demon sighed as he said.

“You must know Berserker’s personality after having met him. He was, for lack of a better term, a maniac who lusted after blood, death, and war. To fight stronger foes, and grow stronger faster, he learned the Concept of Evolution, which belonged to Persephone’s life element, then, combining it with his own Death, he created Chaos.

“His Chaos had the ability of both, evolution and de-evolution. In some ways, you can see, he surpassed his sister.

“If everything went as it was going, then he would’ve combined the Concept of Chaos and Evolution into Death element,” the demon explained.

Nameless Death finally understood why the Chaos Elements in the Site were familiar, yet strange.

They were created by combining Life and Death, instead of the known combination of Death and Void.

“But…” the demon said.

“But?”

“Things suddenly took a turn when the Loved One of Death appeared. He wielded a Death that was far stronger than the Blessed of Death’s Death, and yet unlike Blessed of Death’s Death that was merciless, destructive and bloodthirsty, the Death wielded by the Loved of Death was calm. It carried the Concept of Justice. It punished evildoer and rewarded the people with positive karma,”

the demon continued.

“To Blessed of Death, it was shocking. How could Death, the element of end, love someone who preached peace and justice? He believed his Death, merciless and destructive, was more ‘just’.

“But the truth wouldn’t change. He was a mere Blessed while the one he hated was Loved by Death, and…”

The demon suddenly had a weird expression.

“And?” Nameless Death asked.

“When his sister, Persephone, fell for the Loved One of Death and took his side, the camel’s back finally broke. The Blessed of Death began to hate Loved One of Death with passion.”

Nameless Death also had a weird expression.

While Blessed of Death looked like a villain, his actions were justified. Somewhat at least. After all, an outsider suddenly came, told him all his life had been wrong, and then snatched his sister, even Nameless Death would crash out.

“In his anger, the Blessed of Death rejected Death, and using his understanding of End and Evolution, he created Void.”

All in all, the Loved One of Death was a home wrecker, but Blessed of Death deserved it since he was a homicidal maniac.

“I understand everything you said, but why does this place have Chaos Element? If they are the element of Supreme of Void, shouldn’t they be Void Elements?”

“De-evolution. Void’s ability ate into itself and reversed the evolution of Void and turned them back into Chaos Elements.”

Nameless Death frowned. His ability to read Intent told him the last sentence wasn’t complete truth.

However, he didn’t dig deep into it.

Judging by how helpful the demon had been, there must be an important reason if it was not saying the truth.

Nameless Death decided to not put the demon in a bad spot by forcing him to say the truth.

The answers he had received were enough.

“Now that you got your bedtime story, we should make an action plan to deal with Berserker,” Zagreus said.

Nameless Death raised a brow. He had expected Zagreus was confident in handling Berserker by himself, so why was he speaking as if he needed a plan to do that?

“I know what you are thinking, and yes, I can easily take care of Berserker by myself, but I would rather not do that if I can,” Zagreus said.

“…?” Nameless Death was confused.

“It’s because of my ability,” the demon said. “Each demon has a unique ability. It is because of my ability that Zagreus is strong, but that ability is also the reason why Zagreus doesn’t want to defeat Berserker by himself if he can.”

Nameless Death nodded.

He had known something was wrong.

Zagreus was not a god, and was likely a demigod, yet he could kill Gods. This must be related to it.

“Damn, look at his face. I can see what you are thinking, little shit. And no, the reason I can kill gods is not because of this octopus bastard. It’s my own ability,” Zagreus said.

“And what that ability might be?” Nameless Death asked.

“We can talk about that later,” the demon interrupted. “First you should know about my power, so you can understand why Zagreus wants your help.”
