Extra's Descent - Chapter 118
Foundation Festival [3]
It was 11:30.
The booths that were restaurant themed were finally open.
While booths that were of a different genre were opened a few hours ago.
One such booth was Class B.
In other words, Amy and Claire’s class.
Under the leadership of Sarah, Class B decided on a horror house.
“Boo…!”
Adorned in a ghost costume, Amy popped up out of nowhere.
“Cute…”
But that was the only reaction she got.
“Wahhh…! She’s so cute…!”
“Hehe.”
“…”
Frowning, she forcefully stomped her foot on the ground.
“Damn it. I’m supposed to be scary. What do you mean cute?”
This was the eighth guest they had.
And more or less, she would often get the same comments.
“Haa…”
Stepping outside of their horror booth, Amy let out a heavy sigh.
“…This isn’t working out.”
“It actually is.”
A voice reached her from the side. Turning around, a figure stood with her arms crossed.
Her purple hair was covered in bandages. But some of the strands would peek out.
Her purple gaze met Amy’s shortly after.
“What do you mean…?”
Puzzled, Amy frowned.
“At this rate, our booth’s gonna fail badly.”
“Nope.”
Shaking her head, Claire pointed towards a certain direction.
“Look.”
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Amy turned around and scanned.
“…”
She was speechless.
Several students lined up for their booths. They all seemed excited with smiles etched on their faces.
And…
They were all males.
“Ahh… I heard they had a cute marshmallow here.”
“Isn’t it a blanket?”
“No, it’s definitely a marshmallow.”
“Whatever it is, this cosplay booth’s making me excited.”
“…”
Marshmallow?
Blanket?
Amy stood petrified.
She…
“…I’m a ghost.”
Her face contorted to a sad expression.
And for a second, she felt like her eyes were starting to moisten.
“Pftt…”
A strange sound escaped from another figure, who was seated on her desk.
On her desk were colored papers cut into small pieces.
Her black hair was tied to a ponytail and witch hat to top it off.
It was Sarah, their class leader.
“It may not be working out as we had imagined. But nonetheless, our tickets are selling.”
“…Yes, but—”
“It’s mostly thanks to you, Amy. Good work.”
Praising Amy, a smile flashed across Sarah’s features.
“You can take a break now. Use this time to explore the festival.”
Amy smiled back and nodded.
“Okay, thanks.”
She then turned around to look at Claire.
“Want to visit Class A’s booth?”
“Yep, that’s why I waited for you.”
Nodding, Claire walked to Amy’s side and the two headed for the exit.
“Wait.”
But they halted midstep as Sarah called out to them.
Turning around to look at Sarah, she stood up from her seat and started rummaging her purse.
“I’ll join you. I want to see what that guy’s planned.”
“That guy…?”
Amy pinched her chin and pondered.
Who?
Oh.
“You mean Brandon?”
“Yeah, he’s the one leading their class.”
Amy and Claire were taken aback.
Sure, Brandon was at the top of the first-years.
But he had never really struck them as the proactive type.
He was smart and he was strong.
But he was a bit lazy.
That’s how they at least saw him.
Since there was a competition between booths, most of the leaders kept their ideas confidential.
And only the leaders knew the other leaders, since they would submit their proposals at the same time.
That being said, the three left their lecture room and roamed around the halls.
They passed by several students and most of the attention fell on Amy who was still in her ghost costume.
Male students blushed while the girls seemed to have sparkles in their eyes.
“So cute.”
“…”
Amy paid no heed to them but her brows unknowingly twitched at every instance.
Eventually, they made their way towards Class A’s lecture room.
“…”
“Is this…”
“I didn’t expect this from him.”
Amy and Sarah were speechless while Claire crossed her arms with a smile on her face.
What greeted their sight was a girl adorning a maid uniform. She stood by the door.
Noticing their arrival, she opened the door for them.
“Welcome home, Master…!”
And she followed up with the introductory greetings.
“…”
“…”
“…”
They stood motionless for a few seconds until they fixed their expressions and entered the room.
As soon as they did, all the maids present turned their attention towards them.
“Welcome home, Master…!”
They all spoke in unison.
“Pftt…”
“…Is this really Brandon’s idea?”
“Woah.”
Claire tried to hold back her laugh while Sarah and Amy were stupefied.
A maid with pigtails approached them and led them to an empty table.
Taking a seat, the maid handed each of them a menu.
Cups were placed and the maid poured their beverages.
The maid nodded with a pitcher in her hand.
“A maid will be assigned to you shortly after. Enjoy your stay.”
She strode off as her pigtails swayed with each step she took.
Checking the menu, Sarah nodded.
“Not bad. The theme aside…”
Sarah turned to look around. The place bustled with activity.
Just like their booth, most of the customers were men.
Sarah then continued.
“Things are looking good for them.”
“Agreed.”
Claire nodded as she scanned the menu as well.
“Check this out.”
She leaned forward and showed the menu for Sarah and Claire to see.
Her fingers were currently pointed at a peculiar drink that was priced heavily.
But the price aside, something else caught their attention.
“A photo opportunity with a maid of your choosing?”
Amy’s eyes lit up. Since her sister, Rachel was in this class, she wanted to get a picture with her.
Buying the drink would immediately get them registered in the raffle.
Every ten minutes, the lottery will be drawn, and whoever’s names were present on the paper would win a photo opportunity.
Pinching her chin, Sarah acknowledged.
“This is definitely Brandon’s idea… How smart.”
“Still…”
Claire shrugged.
“I didn’t expect this from him.”
“True, but at this rate, they might sweep the competition.”
They then turned towards Amy who looked back at them as she covered her mouth with the menu.
Claire’s voice reached her ears shortly after.
“Step up your game, Amy. You’re our mascot from now on.”
“What are you—”
“Fuck, stop pushing.”
Amy stopped mid sentence as a male voice reached their ears from the side.
Turning around, a door was opened slightly, but the commotion seemed to come from there.
But that was when…
“…”
“…No way.”
“Holy fuck…!”
A beautiful maid jumped out of the door.
Her pale-white hair was cut short, and her face seemed to flush a bright beet red. On her chest, was a brooch pin with the name ‘Brandonella’ etched on to it.
Her ice-blue gaze eventually met theirs and her body shuddered shortly after.
Everyone present turned to look at the beautiful maid, all while blushing red in return.
“Who’s that…”
“Fuck it, I’m buying twenty drinks.”
“I’ve already bought thirty. I’m winning that photo-opp.”
Comments about the maid’s sudden appearance rang in the air.
Everyone in the room would agree that she was the most beautiful maid present.
Covering her face, Brandonella hesitantly walked towards the trio’s table.
“W-welcome…. Kh…!”
She stuttered.
Smack—!
One of the maids appeared before them and lightly smacked her on the back.
“Come on. Do it for the class.”
She shook her head.
“F-fine…”
The maid then lowered the note that was covering her face.
She eventually pursed her lips.
“W-welcome… Home… Kh… Master.”
“Pftt…”
“Holy fuck. Brandonella…?”
“Hahaha~”
“Pftt…”
Even the maid beside Brandonella laughed.
“…”
