Chapter 126: Visitors from Afar… Part-3.
Inside a train, headed towards the capital city.
“This thing is so fast… What was it called again? A bullet train?”
Ava glanced at the scenery outside that was changing at a moment’s notice, and a look of awe appeared in her eyes.
Hearing Ava’s question, Sylvie nodded her head and said in a quiet voice,
“This speed… It’s nearly the same as a grade-3 warrior… And the amazing thing is that machines don’t get tired, so they can keep running at this speed for a long time…”
The expression on Sylvie’s face turned solemn while she was thinking about this.
“In other words, they can deploy their army anywhere at this insane speed; the enemy won’t even have time to react before the army reaches their home…”
“Human technology is just as beautiful as it is horrifying…”
Ava sighed at those words and inquired.
“Then how about we sign some cooperation pacts with the humans and take their help to develop? We can trade in return, right?”
Sylvie smiled a bit and patted Ava’s head before saying,
“You are still a young princess; you don’t understand how cruel this world is… The world works on selfish desires and motivations…”
“If we don’t’ have valuable enough things, then we won’t be able to trade them with the human race… And if we do have valuable things, then we wouldn’t have the army to defend them from the greedy eyes…”
The reason why the mermaid race was destroyed was because they had access to sea areas.
Humans could have just established trading routes with them, and there wouldn’t be any need for war.
However, the mermaid race was weak, possessing a low level of technology and a small army comprised of less talented individuals.
In other words, they did have the resources of the whole sea, but they didn’t have the strength to defend it, and once the greedy eyes noticed weakness, they wouldn’t let it go.
“Trade can only be done between those who are equal grounds… We need to enhance our military to be able to stand on equal grounds…”
“But then again, the military would need resources, and we don’t have it… So it’s a vicious, never-ending cycle…”
Sylvie glanced at the humans who were traveling in the train along with them and thought to herself.
‘Perhaps the reason why elves will go extinct is because they don’t have a society or economy that can support their growth.’
Sylvie shook her head and sighed.
“Forget it; let’s stop talking about this topic now… The more we talk about it, the more headaches I get…”
Suddenly, Sylvie had an idea and spoke,
“By the way, princess… We are not on an official trip; we can’t ask for help from their army or anything related to official stuff…”
“We will be going to visit the grade 1 mages to ask for help…”
Ava nodded her head and inquired in confusion.
“Uh, we are going to all of them?”
Sylvie shook her head and said,
“No… From the mouth of the recent poaching groups, I learned that one of their Grade-1 is locked up somewhere….”

“We can’t find him… As for the one who comes from the royal family… it will be very difficult to get a chance to have a meeting with him….”
“So, our best bet is the one who just recently ascended to Grade-1…”
Ava appeared somewhat perplexed and inquired.
“But how will we find him… We don’t even know his name-”
Before Ava could complete her sentence, Sylvie said,
“We don’t even need to find him… a grade-1 mage’s mana detection range is hundreds of kilometers wide…”
“Once we enter the capital city… we won’t need to find him; instead, he will track us down in an instant…”
A look of concern appeared on Ava’s face after hearing that,
“B-but… wouldn’t that mean the other grade-1 will also notice us? This is very risky…”
Sylvie nodded her head at those words,
“It’s risky; the outcome depends on luck…. That’s why I said you shouldn’t have come here…”
“With the detection capabilities of a grade-1 mage, it’s easy for them to see through our disguise…”
“And if they have even the slightest bit of knowledge about elves, then they will notice that you are from the royal family in an instant…”
“If the other person is not a good-hearted person, then we are doomed today…”
“Let’s just hope that the teleportation scroll will work…”
Although Ava was quite nervous after hearing those words, she still didn’t hesitate to go to the capital city, and the look of determination in her eyes never diminished.
‘For the sake of the elven race, I must take the risk…’
…
The train reached the station in the capital city in just a few hours.
While Ava was amazed at the sight of the majestic train station, Sylvie had already raised her guard; she’s ready to run away using the scroll at any moment now.
*Step**Step*
Just when the two were still wandering in the station, the sound of certain footsteps made them halt.
The whole busy station went silent in an instant; people stopped moving, and they unconsciously stepped aside to give way to a single man.
A man with dark purple hair and pupils walked into the station with a cold expression on his face.
People immediately noticed him and figured out his identity, but none dared to approach him as the aura around him made the small distance near him unapproachable.
Sylvie also noticed the man and hid Ava behind her in response.
The man glanced at Ava for a second before his eyes met Sylvie’s, and then he spoke in a cold and intimidating voice.
“Purpose?”
Jareth only inquired about the purpose of Sylvie and Ava’s visit.
If it were before he had read the book in the hidden library, Jareth wouldn’t have come here to see the two of them.
But now that he knows a lot about this world, he has changed his mind.
“Negotiations for cooperation on miasma and corruption…”
Sylvie immediately stated her purpose for the visit.
Although she was feeling quite nervous while standing in Jareth’s presence, she still had the courage to tell everything truthfully.
Hearing her words, Jareth nodded his head.
“Good…”
With that said, Jareth turned around and started to leave the same way he came.
Sylvie and Ava looked at each other and nodded their heads.
They decided to follow behind him.
Jareth went outside and entered a car, and Sylvie and Ava sat in a different car that was following right behind Jareth’s.
(He just booked two taxis for them as he came flying and didn’t bring his own cars…)
The two cars headed straight to the university and didn’t stop anywhere along the way.
While sitting in the car, Ava glanced at Sylvie and asked,
“Uh… Did he agree?”
Sylvie smiled at those words and explained everything to her,
“He only agreed to listen to what we had to say… He hasn’t agreed to help yet…”
Ava nodded her head in understanding and went silent.
“I see….”
Suddenly Sylvie remembered something and said it in a quiet voice so that the driver couldn’t hear her words.
“By the way, princess… I heard there’s a famously talented kid named Mark in the current younger generation of the human race…”
“I advise you to stay away from him… We don’t want any trouble right now…”
Sylvie was worried for Ava’s safety.
She doesn’t want Ava to get noticed by some shady young master who likes to collect women as ornaments. (Classic Allen activities…)
These types of people have a lot of influence, and it would be difficult if they took notice of Ava.
“Okay… I will be careful…”
Ava nodded her head and continued to look at the giant buildings and amazing sights of the capital city.
According to her, everything here looks super sci-fi.
She’s thrilled to see all the amazing sights and has no thoughts about anything else.
…
After half an hour of riding, the three of them reached the university together.
Jareth led the way and took the two of them to the meeting room of the main building.
He read through the locations of the seven nodes of the seal of ‘False Dome’, and one of the seven nodes is actually located in the Elven Empire.
Jareth can easily just barge in, but it’d be better if he had the permission of the elves.
These two elven women came just at the right time.
He can listen to their words and can also make his own demands for entering the Elven Empire.
Jareth has no interest in establishing political connections between the two nations, but he has personal interests to take care of.
Thinking about it, Jareth sat on the main chair of the meeting room, and the two elven women sat on the faraway chairs.
Jareth sent a message to the staff members to deliver some drinks and juice for the three of them.
The meeting place was all set… Now all that needed to be done was to talk about everything that needed to be negotiated.
(It may seem fast, but both Jareth and Sylvie are the type of people who don’t bother with pleasantries and stuff, so they didn’t really bother to do it…)
