Chapter 146: Stealing Session Again. Part-3.
When Jareth entered the village, the children playing around on the streets noticed him and looked at his clean, new-looking clothes with awe in their eyes.
Most of the children looked like they were from poor households, and they were wearing old clothes that had been clearly stitched many times already.
Some of the kids didn’t even have shoes, and as they were all playing on the street, they were all covered in dirt.
If not for the fact that Jareth has already fully taken over this body, he wouldn’t have been able to stop himself from saying unkind words to those kids.
‘Sigh, as long as there are rich, there will be poor, and as long as there is light, there will be darkness… Let’s not dwell on this matter for too long…’
Jareth stopped looking at those kids, and the kids ran away with excited looks on their faces as they wanted to spread the news that an unknown man had come to the village.
Jareth didn’t care about the movements of these kids.
‘Once upon a time, you were also wandering around in the streets like a beggar; there’s no need to be overly conscious of them…’
Jareth himself has lived a life worse than a sewer rat before, so he isn’t really in the position to be disgusted by these kids.
In fact, these kids have parents, and even if they are poor, they are happy, unlike Jareth, who was neither happy nor loved.
If you look at it from this perspective, these kids are living a better life than the previous Jareth did, so it’s not a good idea to look down on them.
‘Ugh, why do I always start thinking about these things whenever I see such a situation… Having the previous Jareth’s memories is just as big a pain in the A*S as it is useful…’
Jareth shook his head and kept walking on the main street of the village.
Some adults restrained their children and made distance from him, and some directly shut their house’s doors and windows for fear of getting involved.
‘People here seem to not like visits from outsiders… Well, it’s only natural; if a random stranger appeared in your vicinity and started to stare at your houses, anyone would feel anxious.’
Jareth ignored the behavior of the villagers and walked on the main street until the end.
He then took a few turns and reached the second gate of the village, through which he directly exited the village.
He has nothing to do with the village folk here, and what he came here for is located much deeper in the cave.
The only reason he even bothered to walk on foot to see the village was because he wanted to see if things were still the same as in the game.
‘Aside from some minor details, most things are the same, which means there shouldn’t be much change in the deeper area either. I can rush there directly…’
Ignoring the peeping eyes of the people of the village, Jareth waved his hand and cast his magic.
[Basic Magic: Float!]
He flew into the air and immediately headed deeper into the mine.
The underground village is located in the wide open area at the entrance of the mine, but the deeper you go, the darker and narrower this mine becomes.
‘This place is like a maze; it will take a few hours for me to actually figure out the whole area, even with my mana detection…’
Jareth used his mana detection at full capacity to create a mental map of this place in his mind.
[Basic Magic: Glowing Mana Orb!]
Jareth used the glowing mana orb to illuminate his surroundings, and he wandered aimlessly in the mine for quite a few hours before he finally figured out the path that led to the deepest area of this place.
Even with his mana singularity, it took Jareth quite a bit of effort to locate the ideal path.
‘I can kind of understand why this mine was abandoned; the power of ‘that’ thing must have influenced the minds of the miners, causing them to leave eventually…’

Jareth shook his head, took a left turn from the next intersection, and headed straight to the deepest area using the mental map he created with his mana detection.
As this place is just an abandoned mine, Jareth didn’t even encounter a single monster or anything hostile blocking his path until he entered the closest area to his goal.
Two giant golems made up of stone got up from the ground and tried to attack Jareth, but they were so weak that Jareth directly punched them, and they shattered into pieces.
He didn’t even need to use his mana for such a small thing.
‘The build quality of things here is very bad; these golems clearly used to be in grade 4 at their prime, and it’s only been a hundred years since they got abandoned, and they are already on the verge of falling apart…’
Even if Jareth hadn’t destroyed them, these golems would have fallen apart on their own, as their core would have run out of mana sooner or later.
‘These golems must have been used to guard and mine in this place at the same time…’
As Jareth walked deeper, he found that the path ahead was blocked because the ceiling had collapsed.
‘This is definitely the entrance to the deepest area… If I remember correctly, the protagonist had to use a power mana bomb to detonate and clear the rubble here…’
‘Using a mana bomb in a place that’s already prone to collapse, the game really did random things…’
When he was playing the game, Jareth didn’t feel anything illogical about this operation, but only after seeing this place with his own eyes did Jareth figure out that if he really used a mana bomb here, the whole place would collapse.
‘This must be another doing of the plot armor… Otherwise, there’s no way that Allen could have survived if the ceiling of the mine had collapsed on him and his harem…’
[Basic Magic: Float!]
Jareth used the float magic to make the rubble lighter, and then he used his telekinesis to put the rubble aside and create a path for himself.
He even created a makeshift pillar made from the stones left behind by the bodies of the broken golems.
Jareth placed his hand on the stone pillar and embedded his mana in it.
[Basic Magic: Strengthen!]
Although this is just a temporary solution, this much is enough.
Jareth doesn’t need to stay here for long; just half an hour should be enough, and this small pillar made up of stone can definitely hold on for several days, at least before the mana runs out and the ceiling crumbles down again.
Jareth walked in, and what came into his sight was a small space filled with strange-looking ‘Bluish Crystals’ inside.
The whole room is filled with giant blue crystals that seem to have a very peculiar aura coming from them.
[Ding! You are getting attacked by memory-altering attacks!]
[Ding! Your ‘Mana Singularity’ makes you immune to such phenomena related attacks!]
Jareth heaved a sigh of relief when he heard the notifications from the system.
When Allen entered this place, he was also attacked by these memory-altering attacks, which also caused him a lot of trouble.
But then Airin used her amazing healing magic and helped her teammates fight against these strange attacks with her purifying-type healing magic.
Jareth doesn’t have the support of a healing mage who’s as talented as Airin, but he has mana singularity.
He used it to strengthen his mana barrier, making it strong enough that no such brain-damaging attacks could pass through it.
Thus, he was safe.
Once you get hit by these memory-altering attacks, it will mess up your memory, and you will lose your sense of self and eventually go brain dead.
It’s a fate worse than death.
This is also one of the main reasons why this mine was abandoned; the miners who found this blue crystal-filled room went insane, and the mine had to be abandoned due to this.
Unless you have legendary skills or some other ways to block these mental attacks, you are bound to lose your mind here, even if you are a grade-2 mage.
And such high-level mages are already very rare in this remote place, so this blue crystal-filled room remained obscure for a long time, and no one else has found it yet except the miners who went insane after seeing it.
‘Good thing I came prepared…’
Jareth waved his hand and brought out a different space ring with much bigger space available in it.
‘This crystal, or, I should say, this crystalized corpse of a powerful being, is a very strong material for crafting weapons and other things…’
‘Even Allen used this material to get a sword created out of it, for his harem member, obviously…’
‘But this crystal is just a bonus; my main aim is this…’
Jareth directly stuffed all the blue crystals inside his space ring, and then found a golden crystal at the center.
‘This is the crystal that contains the trace of ‘Divine power’… Although I can’t extract it right now, it’s a good thing that I was able to find this treasure…’
A smirk appeared on Jareth’s face as he looted the future chance of Allen and didn’t even leave a single crystal behind for anyone else.
‘Hehe, thanks for helping me find the perfect materials for my great plans. I will never forget your great contributions… You are indeed my biggest helper, Allen…’
