Chapter 221: The Forbidden Magic called ‘Mutation’… Part-2.
Royal Palace, Infirmary.
“You feeling okay now?”
Jareth noticed the three wake up after the healing mages healed them and put down the book he was reading.
He leaned his back against the chair and spoke in a calm voice.
“You guys passed out for quite a few hours; your reaction time is still slow; you were able to deploy your mana shields on time…”
“Well, I don’t blame you for that… Even a peak grade-3 mage wouldn’t have been able to react to that sudden explosion…”
Although Jareth said those words of consoling, the trio still felt complicated in their hearts.
This is the first time they have seen an acquaintance die in front of them like that.
Although Emu was not a friend or anything and they had just gotten acquainted with her, her death still caused the three of them to feel various complex emotions.
At that moment, the three of them figured out the truth of this world.
Life is completely worthless in the eyes of the strong in this world; death can come at any moment, and you might not even notice it.
There’s no hope for the weak.
Risa was the closest to Emu; if she was strong enough, she could have sensed the presence of that ‘mutation’ in Emu, and she could have helped the little girl as there was still time.
But she was weak; she was powerless; that’s her biggest mistake. Being weak is the original sin in this world.
“You don’t need to blame yourself for it, Risa; even I was there and wasn’t able to notice it on time…”
“Forbidden magic is just that kind of existence; no matter how prepared you are, it can hide itself and can cause trouble when you expect the least…”
“This kind of forbidden magic is called ‘Mutation’… It uses the victims own body parts to generate the ‘mutation’ in the body…”
“The user of this forbidden magic likely turned her innards and organs to function in a way that they would turn her into a ‘biological bomb’ that got triggered at a specific moment.”
“There is only one person in the entire world who’s this skilled at body mutation-related forbidden magic…”
“He’s a high-ranking member of the False Dome Cult, the ‘Mad Parasite’, Fisur Jolmoh… He used to be a scientist at one of the most prestigious institutes…”
“It is very likely that he has reached grade 1 after joining the False Dome cult…”
Jareth glanced at Mark and thought to himself.
‘Mark was the one who suffered the most from this guy’s eccentric hobbies of turning humans into weird nightmarish objects…’
Not only Mark’s younger sister was turned into a human chimera by Fisur, even his lackeys were turned into biological computers with their brains working as internet servers.
It was pure horror—something right out of a horror movie.
One of the main reasons why this game was banned completely in nearly 100 countries of the world was because of how horrific it gets as the end of the game draws near.
People were retching and puking at the sight of the underground base of Fisur, where hundreds of monstrosities were on display.
‘Originally I wasn’t planning on going after that guy for a while, but he came over to mess with me on his own; then who’s am I to stop him…’
‘I will greet him with open arms and then crush him to powder.’
Jareth doesn’t have any personal beef with Fisur Jolmoh; it’s just that guy is too dangerous to be left alive out there.

He’s the last survivor of the descendants of the member of the cult of Therath.
If by some chance he ended up inviting that demon god Therath to partner with the demon god of the False Dome cult, then Jareth’s difficulties will increase even more!
Jareth is not sure whether the other party has any method to contact that long-gone demon god Therath, but it’s better to be cautious.
Destroying Fisur will eliminate this hidden problem of a second demon god’s threat lurking in the dark.
Right now, just one demon cult is causing enough trouble; if that demon god Therath also returned and a new power demon cult came into being, Jareth’s entire plan will go haywire.
The golden nails will definitely be shattered into pieces much sooner, and the false dome seal will not be able to hold on any longer.
‘Putting that threat of demon god aside, Fisur himself is provoking me on purpose…’
‘It is likely that the False Dome cult has figured out that there’s a golden nail in this place, and they dispatched their strongest people to destroy it and cause chaos…’
Thinking about all this, Jareth suddenly realized something.
‘Wait… The golden nail in the abyss altar area had its own sea of consciousness that was sealing Konda inside…’
‘Could it be possible that other seals also have the sea of consciousness that’s sealing something inside of them?’
‘Then what could possibly be sealed inside this seal in the golden nail located below the elven capital…’
Jareth crossed his arms and started to think hard about this matter.
‘There can’t be another Konda inside or any other powerful monsters; that’s simply not a possibility; there’s likely something that can summon demons and monsters.’
In the game, the kingdom of elves gets destroyed by an endless siege of monsters and lower-ranking demons, but it was never specified where so many demons and monsters actually came from.
In the entire game, you only get to go inside one golden nail that is the one where Konda was; you don’t go to deal with the rest.
You directly fight an all-out war with the False Dome cult after the Elven capital gets destroyed.
This same monster tide keeps coming back and forth to various places; Mark also dies in the endless siege of monsters, and things get worse.
Then the hero beats all monsters, wins glory for his nation, goes on to hunt powerful creatures that were raining terror, kills Zion on Mars, and returns home victorious.
This marks the end of the story.
‘We never explore the rest of the golden nails… and we are never told where those monsters and demons are coming out from till the end…’
‘Wait… is it possible that the golden nail located in the elven capital is actually sealing a massive ‘Rift’ inside…’
A rift in the fabric of space and time can be used by a demon god and the sea of miasma to enter the world.
‘The presence of the rift will make all the pieces of the puzzle set in place!’
If there really is a rift inside the golden nail’s sea of consciousness, then if the golden nail’s barrier and magic circle weaken, the rift will start leaking miasma in massive quantities.
Then the sea of consciousness will pour all the miasma out of the golden nail like it was doing in the abyss altar area.
All the surrounding areas will start getting corrupted and miasma will become denser, and things will keep going worse with each passing moment.
The more miasma that leaks out, the more the barrier will weaken, and the cycle will keep on going until the golden nail breaks apart on its own.
When the golden nail breaks apart.
The spatial rift will show up in the outside world and become a perfect pathway for low-rank demons and monsters that are roaming in the sea of miasma outside to bypass the seal of False Dome and enter in large quantities!
‘Yes, now everything kind of makes sense… This is likely the source of all the demons and monsters that appeared in the end game and laid siege everywhere…’
Jareth knows that the golden nail is located right below the capital city of the elves, which means if it breaks, millions of monsters will pour out right in the middle of the city.
You can never protect a kingdom whose capital itself gets completely wiped off the face of earth!
With an infinite army against it that has no end to its increasing numbers, it’s impossible to save a nation.
‘I see, those false dome cult members somehow know that I am here to deal with the golden nail; that’s why they sent their powerful people to hurry up and break the nail and deal with me along with it…’
‘Killing that little girl Emu in front of me was just a sign of declaring war against me… It was a way of telling me that you are already in our trap…’
‘I guess there’s likely more than one Grade-1 member of the False Dome cult lying in wait for me…’
‘They will definitely ambush me when the opportunity comes… quite the cunning plan…’
Thinking everything through, Jareth figured out all the ins and outs of the entire situation.
His insanely intelligent brain is not for show; it gives him the ability to figure out plans and remain calm in extreme situations.
‘Hmm… this trip will be a bit more eventful than I had originally thought it seems…’
‘I can safely assume that those members of the False Dome Cult have already sneaked into the so-called ‘Forbidden Area located below the capital’ with some other means…’
‘They likely have some other method to travel, just like they had done in the Abyss Altar area… I am the one who’s behind this time again…’
While Jareth was busy thinking, the door of the infirmary opened, and Sylvia returned.
Seeing that exhausted look on her face, Jareth knew that the other party had a hard time dealing with the parents of the little elf girl.
“Ms. Sylvia, you came just on time… I have something to talk about with you…”
