Chapter 34: Risa, the Villainess! Part-1.
The news that Mark has a fiancée spread in the university like wildfire.
It became a major topic of discussion in every friend group.
And unconcerned by the chaos that she had spread, Risa dragged Mark out of the classroom.
Moreover, the most interesting part of the news was that Professor Jareth who is famous for being extremely strict and cold towards students, actually gave his approval to Mark and Risa.
“You know what? Professor Jareth himself asked the students to move so that Mark’s fiancée could sit beside Mark without any problems!…”
“D*mn! If even Professor Jareth has given his blessings, Shouldn’t they already get married then!?”
“Cough! Ahem! It’s not that simple, you know who the fiancée is? It’s a girl from the ‘Shadowfallen’ household…”
“W-what!? D*mn! A bright prince and a dark assassin, that’s such a conflicting combination…”
Talks like this have become common in the whole university now.
Some people even made up exaggerated rumors like:
‘If your relationship can get approval from Professor Jareth, you are bound to live together forever!’
All in all the whole university was in chaos due to this incident.
Only the two who caused this chaos were not that concerned about the flying rumors.
‘Ugh, my image of being a hard-working genius in Professor Jareth’s eyes has been shattered, now he thinks I am a playboy who likes to have his way with women…’ (Mark)
Mark wasn’t really concerned about the rumors spreading, his cause of concern was totally different.
Meanwhile, the girl who caused this chaos was also totally unconcerned about the rumors too.
She tightly wrapped her arms around Mark’s right arm and said with a happy smile.
“Shall we tour the university then?” (Risa)
“A-ahem, you don’t need to cling to my arm so tightly you know?” (Mark)
Hearing Mark’s annoyed tone, Risa’s grip loosened and a saddened look appeared on her face.
“Why? Do you not like it?” (Risa)
Seeing her get dejected over such a small thing, Mark decided to let her do whatever she wanted, he didn’t want to cause more misunderstandings.
“Forget it… do whatever you want…” (Mark)
“Yes!” (Risa)
The happy smile returned to her face after getting Mark’s permission.
‘In the first place… it’s not like I feel anything… the ground is too flat…” (Mark)
“Hmm, I feel like someone is talking bad about me…” (Risa)
“It’s your imagination, perhaps…” (Mark)
“I guess so…” (Risa)
Risa’s eyes remained narrowed for a while as she glared at Mark but she didn’t say anything else.

After this small incident, everything went fairly smoothly actually, Mark showed Risa all around the university and helped her get acquainted with the schedule.
Although he certainly wanted to just go home and train further, he had to fulfill the duty given to him by Jareth.
He dared not make Jareth angry.
Even the weakest spell cast by Jareth can destroy Cyclops-level monsters, thus Mark didn’t want to take the risk.
…
Café Starcatcher.
“So, why did you come here?” (Mark)
Risa didn’t immediately answer his question, she sipped the tea brought by the waiter and enjoyed its taste, only then did she start to speak:
“I am on an official mission, Your Highness. The mission is to protect you…” (Risa)
“The ‘Shadowfallen’ household has been ordered by the King to send a skilled assassin to guard you…” (Risa)
“Ugh, so it was father’s doing…” (Mark)
“It was originally my brother who was supposed to come and guard you from the shadows, but I beat him in a fair and square duel to get this chance…” (Risa)
“Didn’t Duke Shadowfallen stop you from coming here?” (Mark)
“He did want to send my brother so that he can make friends with you and talk out some political matters, but I defeated him fair and square…” (Risa)
“The stronger one gets the reward, that’s how the shadow fallen household works… so here I am…” (Risa)
The frown on Mark’s face intensified the more he heard about this matter.
“I asked father to not meddle with my university life, yet he still doesn’t want to leave me alone, tch!” (Mark)
“You don’t like me being near you?” (Risa)
Seeing that Mark was frustrated by her being here, Risa was saddened greatly.
Although she indeed likes him a lot, being rejected again and again like this can make even the calmest person feel bad.
“Uh, it’s not that I don’t like your presence here, it’s just that I didn’t want my father to interfere with my campus life here…” (Mark)
“Sigh~ forget it… as you are already here, things are already set in stone…” (Mark)
“By the way, shouldn’t they have sent a grade-3 or higher level person as a guard, why did they choose to send their children as guards?” (Mark)
Risa sipped the tea and said in a calm tone:
“Well about that, any unauthorized personnel can’t stay in the university… the principal won’t allow it… besides everyone knows that you are under the protection of ‘that’ professor…” (Risa)
“Ah, yes… with Professor Jareth being there to ensure students’ safety, there’s no need for an additional guard…” (Mark)
The videos of Jareth’s amazing feats have gone viral and everyone knows that he is the professor responsible for Mark’s class, thus unless Jareth is taken care of, no harm will come to the students.
And getting rid of someone as strong as Jareth is not such an easy task.
“Yes, we don’t need to worry about raw firepower with Professor Jareth protecting you, so they decided to send someone who is skilled in identifying poison and other abnormal things…” (Risa)
Risa proudly puffed up her chest and said in a confident voice.
“Rest assured, there is no one better than me in the Shadowfallen house when it comes to these kinds of things, I can concoct even the most lethal poisons for your sake!” (Risa)
“Also I have inherited the secret techniques of the Shadowfallen house, I will put my life on the line to help you escape if things don’t look good…” (Risa)
Mark was quite astonished at her words.
As a prince himself, he has basic knowledge about all major families of this empire.
Thus, he knows that it’s very rare for a talent to appear who can inherit all secret techniques of the Shadowfallen family, Risa being able to learn them proves that she isn’t weak.
“By the way, the tea is very tasty here… I like this place…” (Risa)
The rays of the setting sun fell and a beautiful smile appeared on her face, making her look like an ordinary young girl just like any other.
‘Cute…’ (Mark)
Mark knew that Risa had always been addicted to tea.
“So, you are going to stay here from now on?” (Mark)
Risa nodded her head and said in her usual calm tone:
“Yes, my luggage has been sent to the girl’s dormitory… I will go and arrange the room later…” (Risa)
Suddenly Risa’s eyes narrowed and she smiled mischievously.
“Why? You wanna come to my room? Hehe, that sort of thing is forbidden before marriage~” (Risa)
“W-who said I wanted to come!? I-I was just asking out of concern!” (Mark)
“Oh~ so you do feel concerned about me, hehe~” (Risa)
‘Tch! She is too good at teasing tactics!” (Mark)
“Hmph! I am going!” (Mark)
Mark left the café a with pouted face as he was not able to win against her teasing methods, and Risa simply just giggled as she thought that his pouty face seemed cute.
But then she remembered that he left without paying the bill.
“Ah, I forgot to bring money with me! Ugh, I will have to call a brother to borrow some money…” (Risa)
Just when she was about to call, she noticed that an unread bank notification had appeared on her phone when she didn’t check it for the whole day.
[Received 696969– in your bank account from ‘Mighty flaming Papa’!]
‘Ugh… what’s with this strange number, did he really have to spend that much money just to make it look funny?…’ (Risa)
Risa shook her head and left the café after paying off the bill for both of them.
Standing under the brightness of the streetlight, Risa clenched her small fist and thought to herself.
‘hehe, I will charm you eventually…’ (Risa)
Then she suddenly remembered that she hadn’t eaten anything for two days now.
‘Ugh, my old habit of forgetting to eat food is still not cured…’ (Risa)
Risa rubbed her tummy and went over to a nearby shop to buy some calorie bars to make do with.
