Potion Making Event! Part-3.
Competition venue, Yodo District.
A week went by in a flash and the day of the competition arrived fast.
The competition venue was arranged at a fairly distant place from the university.
From the current distance, providing reinforcement would only take a few minutes for the grade-2 mages and Nathan can directly teleport as this is a very small distance for him.
Sitting on the topmost seat, Nathan glanced at the people below with his usual calm and collected look.
Thomas came over from the side to report.
“It seems all arrangements are ready, the whole stadium is already full of the guests and parents…. we can start the competition any time now…” (Thomas)
The principal nodded his head at Thomas’s words.
[Basic Magic: Spirit Voice]
Nathan cast a basic spell to enhance his voice so that everyone can hear him without any problems.
“Good Morning everyone, Our University welcomes you all on this special occasion… We are glad that you all came to watch a show put on by our talented students…” (Nathan)
And then, the usual half an hour long speech that every principal in the world likes to give, started. The speech went on and on, making nearly all of the people feel sleepy.
“Ahem, it’s time we start the competition…” (Thomas)
Thomas whispered in Nathan’s ears in a quiet voice after he had enough of Nathan’s bulsh*t.
Only after Thomas reminded him of the time did Nathan come back to his senses and finally end the speech which nearly made everyone fall asleep.
“Ahem, without any further delay let us start the competition…” (Nathan)
Nathan sat back on his designated chair after he completed the speech and fell silent.
Three professors from the academy acted as judges and sat down in their respective spots.
The three judges were Shin, Thomas, and a professor named Rovan who teaches about monster anatomy and psychology.
All three of them have veteran-level knowledge in potion-making and are qualified to judge the potion-making skills of novice wizards without any problem.
Aria is the one who is most proficient in potion making but the principal made her stay back at the university so she isn’t here right now.
No one raised a voice against the choice of Judges, after all, all three of the judges are famous people and are well known for being Grade-2 mages.
But a little bit of gossip still happened all over the audience.
The real crazed discussion was actually happening on the various social media platforms.
“Where is the goat!?”
“I can’t see the goat among all of the professors!”
“Tch! I thought he would come to the competition as a judge too!”
“Good thing I didn’t buy the ticket, it would have been such a waste as the goat isn’t even there…”
People were going crazy at the fact that Jareth wasn’t at the venue.
Netizens have always been like this, they follow trends the most.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
Recently Jareth has been popular due to his feats but sooner or later this trend of calling him ‘the goat’ will also fade away if he doesn’t show up on the media again.
Most people bought the expensive tickets because they wanted to take close-range photos of Jareth and then flex on their friends later.
…
Amidst the cheerful and panicked voices of the audience, the competition finally started.
All of the teams appeared on the stage and walked over to their dedicated potion-making table.
Mark entered the stadium and glanced at the paper sheet in his hand.
The paper had the number ‘1’ written on it.
“Hmm, it seems we are assigned to the first table… hmm, ah, it’s there! Let’s go..” (Mark)
The other four walked behind him honestly like chicks following the mother hen.
Mark just rolled his eyes and thought to himself.
‘how did we even get selected with such a line-up…’ (Mark)
Only the teams that had shown good results were selected to go to the venue and the rest of the teams were disqualified before they even made it to the real stage.
The reason why Mark’s team wasn’t disqualified even with four of the members being useless, was because of Mark alone.
While walking over to the designated bench, Mark noticed a young golden-haired girl surrounded by guards sitting on a VIP seat.
The girl smiled and waved her hand at Mark as she noticed his gaze.
“It seems your younger sister is also here, Mark…” (Risa)
Risa’s face pouted a little as she saw Mark’s younger sister stick her tongue out towards her in an attempt to taunt her with a mocking smile.
‘Ugh, she is doing that on purpose, she knows that Risa will get annoyed at this…’ (Mark)
Mark shook his head and stopped thinking about it.
He took out the ingredients handed over to him by the staff and placed them on the table in an orderly manner.
“Okay, do everything as I had taught you…” (Mark)
The other four nodded their head and did as Mark had asked them.
What they needed to do was to pretend to be working, so that they could show that they had proper team coordination, otherwise points might be deducted.
‘Ugh, I thought Professor Jareth would be a judge, why do I have to be judged by these three…’ (Mark)
Although Mark respected the three as they were all strong grade-2 mages, in his opinion the true mages should be cold-hearted and decisive in nature.
In other words, Mark thinks that an ideal mage should be like Jareth, cold, decisive, and strong.
What he doesn’t know is that the person he was idolizing was a total fraud.
…
Meanwhile, around the same time.
University, outside the main gate.
Two burly men were squatting on the ground and talking with each other while drawing something with sand on the ground.
“Idiot big brother, what I am trying to say, we should go from this door and then bypass this corridor first!” (???)
“No! I am the big brother, I will decide where to go!” (???)
Seeing the extremely burly and muscular guys squat right outside the university’s main gate, the passersby felt quite weird but they deliberately avoided talking to them as the two unknown guys were giving off a dangerous aura.
The Older brother placed his finger on the ground and continued.
“We will destroy this wall here and break through to the inner area easily…” (???)
“But won’t that bring too much unwanted attention to us?” (???)
Just when the two brothers were in a dilemma, a third person appeared without them noticing and placed his finger on the ground.
“How about you go from this place and then here… there is no security here either…” (Jareth)
Hearing Jareth’s words, the two brothers were taken aback and a look of surprise appeared on their faces.
“Oh yes! Why didn’t I think of this!?”
“You are so smart, mister!”
The two brothers nodded their heads for a moment before they realized that a sudden unknown person had appeared between them
“What the!?”
“Who are you!?”
The two brothers immediately shot up and jumped away from Jareth.
Jareth waved his hands at the two and said in his usual cold voice.
“I am a spy, I work for the great heavenly master of the supreme heavenly realms…” (Jareth)
A confused look appeared on the faces of the two younger brothers after hearing Jareth say such a ridiculous thing with such a serious expression on his face.
“Uh, so whose side are you on?”
“Yeah, are you an ally or an enemy?”
Jareth tilted his head and continued…
“Hmm, I am on the side of muscles…” (Jareth)
The eyes of the two brothers shined brightly when Jareth mentioned the topic ‘muscles’ and they immediately nodded their heads.
“Yeah, muscle is the real truth…”
“Indeed, so whose side are you two one then, where is your family, little kids?” (Jareth)
The two brothers glanced at each other and nodded their heads.
“Actually, we are lost, we came with big sis Abella, but she left after leaving us here, she said we can eat a guy named Jarem or something… but we don’t know where to find him…”
Jareth’s eyes instantly narrowed when he found out the information he wanted.
‘So, the ‘Nightmare’ Abella was dispatched… moreover, these two death squad members are dispatched to deal with me… this is quite the trouble we have…’ (Jareth)
From the start, Jareth already knew about the identity of these two guys when he noticed them squatting outside the university with his mana singularity.
But he didn’t immediately attack them because he needed more information from them and as a veteran player, he knew all too well about how to communicate with these brainless NPCs.
All members of the death squadron have reduced intelligence, they behave like seven-year-old children.
‘Seeing them in person is really different from the game… to think that these burly monstrosities are a result of excessive experimentation on innocent children… this world is really as cruel as it can be…’ (Jareth)

Author’s Notes.
Yo! It’s your beloved author here! Things are very messed up in this world, those with faint hearts might not be able to digest all of this…
Question of the day.
Who would you rather have as your project judge?
1. Shin (He will forgive your mistakes and provide better answers…)
2. Thomas (He will judge according to the rules, he will be impartial in his judgment…)
3. Jareth (If he noticed mistakes in your project, you will be severely criticized for it…)
